+ 27 Blood Pressure Help

ad

Every once in a while We see a blood pressure question and the truth is, its probably the biggest health hazard when it comes to doing what we do. Most of the young guys running gear, I was one once upon a time, just look at roid rage as kinda cool often and dont really realize it is likely the result of high blood pressure. High blood pressure could be responsible for a large percentage of all disease related to cardiovascular or organ issues. We should talk about it more and in my opinion there should be no single person running gear without a BP monitor. I figured it out many years after running my first gear, I thought rage just meant I was a badass! Lol. So anyway my answer is cardio early and often, eat as clean as possible and take my omega3 fish oil along with a few other heart supps....hopefully everyone can drop in their control methods and thoughts. I happen to believe even blood pressure medication is a good thing if you need it when compared to just letting it get out of hand. It is depreciating you which is the opposite of what we are all trying to do to begin with. A motor that runs nice and smooth that granny drives will last longer than one in Goths ride given he just boils the tires at every intersection and thinks he's so fuckin cool with his dollar store jewelry and his felt hat and gold tip cane! TELL US WHATS WORKING FOR YOU....

I used to take BP meds but no longer and now my BP is 120/70
I lost some fat,,,I don't gain too much extra weight,,,I eat very clean
and drink tons of water (1.5-2GAL) every day.

I don't have a family history of blood pressure problems. I'm still agruing that you family history of fast food and alchohol might hold more relevance than your family history of hypertension. That's why it's very important to eat clean when on the gear.

Blood Pressure along with Hematocrit Levels are two of the areas which I see most novice bodybuilders fail to check regularly. All the posts here give adequate instructions on how to keep blood pressure levels down including; EFA's, Cardio, Clean Diet and even Propanolol in some cases.. Although even with the heaviest androgens it's usually all a matter of diet. Hematocrit levels should also be regularly reviewed as blood viscosity can thicken and cause potential for strokes etc. The easiest remedy? Give blood regularly at the blood bank and do complete lab panels monthly.. Simple and easy for long lasting admission to the "Game!"

I am not gonna flame you. Just read.
"Roid Rage" is a psychological issue. Not a result of high blood pressure. Steroids CAN cause a blood pressure problems and be an agonist towards aggression. Blood pressure is not the agonist (cause) of violent behavior. A lot of old sweet grannies have high blood pressure. And they are still sweet.
You are correct in that gear can cause high BP. Its in its nature via erythropoietin stimulation and increased aggression. Over a period of time it can also cause plaque build up that will lower the diameter of your vessels and make them less elastic which will also increase blood pressure.
Again your BP does not control your anger. Your anger controls your BP.
I keep BP in check by cardio, daily Cialis, Hydration,,L-Arginine, NO ALCOHOL and fish oil .
Most of all I pray for and forgive those who piss me off and would otherwise silently destroy me by my anger which is totally on me as an adult to take care of.

drewbaby's picture

I take blood pressure medication and that pretty much takes care of it.

TheArchangelSyndrome's picture

Propanolol and Lisinopril knocks it right down, but i would kill for 120/80 naturally.

pearce26's picture

Cardio- hiit or 30min light intensity 3x times week.

If needed aspirin.

Decrease sodium (but dont go below 2grams)
LISS Cardio

I'm in my third week 0f 450 mg of test and dbol. I was at the doctor the other day getting bloods done and they said that my blood pressure was like 160/40 or something, it was way high. This advice may hopefully bring back to normal. It was so hard after last night's injection that I couldn't go to sleep.

How long have you been running each of these compounds?

Do you ever donate blood?

infamous86's picture

I have been running

infamous86's picture

I have been doing these compounds for about 6 weeks. I havent given blood in two years but I used too. Why? I been using gear almost 4 or 5 years been a while I was stupid in how I did it before. Didn't study and learn what I was doing was just getting what ever I got my hands on and I never did PCT up until 6 months ago and after hitting these forums I learned alot and did it right I have since jumped on. New cycle and new source I went with the reputable name and history and left what I had. Since then the pimples that swell and hurt and now these dam dizzy spells. I will say

IronGhost's picture

I am currently prescribed Lisinopril @ 5mg daily and have been diagnosed with pre-hypertension.. I am 6'2" and average around 270lbs (fluctuate between 265-275).. Of course the doctors tell me that I have to lose weight to get my BP down.. I am not too keen on losing muscle so I will be exhausting every other method through trial and error to find what works best for my genetics.. From personal experience cutting sodium intake and increasing cardio naturally work but I seem to find myself putting salt on everything that I eat and I am recovering from a full knee reconstruction so cardio is out of the question sometimes due to general pain and swelling in my leg..

As far as supplements go.. your basic vitamins will help as a foundation of overall health
Maybe consider the following which I currently take daily:

Time Release Active Multi-Vitamin
CoQ10 - 100mg
Natural Vitamin E - 1000 iu
Omega 3 Krill Oil - 500 mg
Triple Lecithin - 1200 mg
Vitamin C - 1000 mg
Omega 3-6-9 combo - 1500 mg
Time release B-Complex - 150mg

I am always doing research to find different life extension compounds and am currently intrigued by Alagebrium (formerly known as ALT-711) .. you can do a google search and find some really promising info on life extension forums.. I am considering acquiring some for research use and I will most definitely inform everyone if the blood pressure of my lab rats does go down

Garlique has always worked well for me, well and cardio.

take 900mg hawthorn and make cardio 3x in week - this help me a lot!

johnmarshall12's picture

High Systolic BP is the anger indicator. The problem w\ith what you are saying is that the BP is causing the anger, and it is the reverse! The anger causes the High Systolic!

Building good cardio will help lower Systolic, sa it is caused by a rapid pounding hearbeat. Cardio training will allow the heart obeat at a lower resting rate with less resistance. Howver, this may cure the BP issue but not the anger!

There are a lot of other factors in anger besides gear. Low Test levels can cause it and emotion issues not at all related to hormones!

Good forum, my bp always gets out of control when my estrogen gets a lil high but a 1/4 tab of pharma letro knocks it right away. But I do use Hawthorne berry and occasionally coq10 but the latter gives me headaches.

antclay01's picture

Im 39 6' 185lbs about to run first cycle hbp is a major concern for me. Im gonna go with the all natural suggestions thanx guys.

mattsilf's picture

Donating blood, tadalafil, and hawthorn berry keep mine in check. I think the tadalafil is what works the best

sieno1's picture

Hey Guy, the tadalafil, is a new one on me what dose do you take? I was also considering it for my BPH. When I am on a blast I have a bitch of a time taking a leak,,Thanx!

j1980's picture

High blood pressure runs in the family. Both mom & dad have been hospitalized for it. It started to give me problems ab a year ago so I started taking norvasc at 10mg. It's helped keep it in check for the most part. I also take omega 3. Don't run EQ any more though because that shit would sky rocket while I was on it.

Fearless's picture

My BP just came back - 116/68

AWWW yeah

Champion Of The Mind's picture

Pre or post training? I've noticed pre training mines is 110/75 and post training its pretty high 140/90...

Fearless's picture

This was a few hours post training

Champion Of The Mind's picture

That's good bro... I check mines with 15 minutes post training... you keep check on it regularly?

Fearless's picture

Kinda.. I like to keep BP and cholesterol in check, never had problems with either. I will especially keep an eye on it during my cycle

Hellboy200lbs's picture

What helps keep bad cholesterol down. I eat alot of eggs daily my wife insists mines got to be sky rocketed?

androq's picture

Eating oatmeal everyday and cardio a minimum of 25 mins a day 5 days a week. Fish oil and plant sterols and stanols ( cholestoff plus is a plant sterol supp). I use the sup plement otherwise tons of brocoli. Adding these things brought my total cholesterol from over 300 to under 170 in less than three months...still a little further for me to go but getting there. The oatmeal fish oil and cardio all help lowere bp as well.

very important factors to manage during your cycle.... I use to not take it so seriously, then I had a few nosebleed during training and chest was hurting... changed my perspective on it very fast, now I check it twice a day religiously.

Drywallstar's picture

I have been using red yeast rice ontop of my fish oil and bp meds. Really can tell my bp raises a bit when I run out of the red yeast rice. Give it a try guys....its cheap too.

zeus414's picture

Red yeast rice is very good for cholesterol

I used to watch the salt and literally eat all my meats without salt. After a while I got used to it. After years of somewhat elevated blood pressure and it being documented by my doctor, I have finally been prescribed Lisinopril (hope I am spelling it right). I take 10mg day and been on it for about 6 months now and no matter what cycle I am on or what compound my blood pressure has been a steady 120s-130s/ 60s-70s. I am very happy and I haven't had any side effects from this med. Nice thing all insurances pay for it and if you dont have insurance brothers, the medicine is only around $15-20 per month. Just a suggestion. I always thought my blood pressure was steroid related or due to the amount I ate but after years of it being high, my case its hereditary and there is nothing I can do. Good luck and God Speed

Doug2195's picture

I can relate to high BP. Sometimes this is a big concern for me. I feel proper diet will help to dramatically lower things overall.

gambit's picture

i donated blood it seemed to help. but my body may be trying to tell me to end cycle. monitoring my BP twice per day.
what i am doing.
dropped eq
lowering tren.
more cardio
lowering carbs, less water weight i find helps me.
for me, more sodium cause my potassium is naturally higher, which causes more water weight (potassium/sodium levels checked by blood work)
i take all in 1 cycle support
6g good fish oil per day.

norcuron's picture

I watch the salt, come off the creatine and on the nitro, drink plenty of water and take 20 meq of potassium a day when I am on. Seems to keep everything in check. needless to say the other daily supps that I take regardless.

Laughing helps increase blood flow:

Hearty laughter keeps the flow of blood going with ease. Having a good blood flow means being in good shape. Good blood flow means lesser visits to doctors, lesser problems and lesser medicinal intake.

TexHaus's picture

I use a Omron BP monitor to keep track of mine. I take lisinopril to keep it in check, my diet is great but BP can get a bit high, nothing crazy but don't want any future heart problems. It's always a good idea for us guys to just take some baby aspirin daily to help out... Btw baby asprin is in the adult section, current real baby aspirin doesn't actually contain asrprin.

TheFlash85's picture

asprin doesnt lower or control blood pressure, it just prevents blood clots, it doesn't even thin out your blood, its generally used by people running eq and drol, its fine to do so in those situations because those compounds tend to give people a higher risk of clotting due too rbc increase, if any body is having any issues with kidneys, not advised either, in America I think its advised by your heart foundation, over here we are warned not too take it and is usually only given to old people who have blood clot issues.

Champion Of The Mind's picture

You know I was always under the impression that it helped thin it, that's what the nurses said once when I donated blood. I never thought to question it, I mean they were nurses... apparently they didn't question it either lol.. but I usually take it when I'm running drol, it does help with the headaches...

TheFlash85's picture

yes brother, its the same with a lot of thing on the net, one person starts saying something then everyone follows or parrots it believing its correct without even checking or trying.
asprin inhibits the formation of chemicals in our bodies called -prostaglandins- by blocking an essential enzyme needed for their formation, it promotes blood cells to stick together by blocking the-prostaglandins- wich inturn reduces the chance of blood clots forming and gives us less chance of strokes and heart attacks.
its just like the clomid/nolva/aromasin pct, in my opinion it stupid, but someone started using it, then everyone followed, you wont ever see me using aromasin in any of my pcts, because if you run your cycles correctly, there is o point.
