+ 27 Blood Pressure Help
Every once in a while We see a blood pressure question and the truth is, its probably the biggest health hazard when it comes to doing what we do. Most of the young guys running gear, I was one once upon a time, just look at roid rage as kinda cool often and dont really realize it is likely the result of high blood pressure. High blood pressure could be responsible for a large percentage of all disease related to cardiovascular or organ issues. We should talk about it more and in my opinion there should be no single person running gear without a BP monitor. I figured it out many years after running my first gear, I thought rage just meant I was a badass! Lol. So anyway my answer is cardio early and often, eat as clean as possible and take my omega3 fish oil along with a few other heart supps....hopefully everyone can drop in their control methods and thoughts. I happen to believe even blood pressure medication is a good thing if you need it when compared to just letting it get out of hand. It is depreciating you which is the opposite of what we are all trying to do to begin with. A motor that runs nice and smooth that granny drives will last longer than one in Goths ride given he just boils the tires at every intersection and thinks he's so fuckin cool with his dollar store jewelry and his felt hat and gold tip cane! TELL US WHATS WORKING FOR YOU....

Umm yeah that's what I said. Obviously it'd need to be a ridiculous amount to ingest at once. I mean if you're drinking adequate water throughout the day anyways high potassium blood levels are filtered through the kidneys. But over an extended period of time having a very high potassium intake that will lead to levels built up coupled with water retention can lead to problems such as hyperkalemia conditions. Wasn't trying to scare anyone away from potassium intake...just as the saying goes everything in moderation! Browsing through these forums some "less knowledge" people tend to follow advice a little too close to heart...don't wanna see someone go on a crazy potassium diet(eating shit-loads) throughout their cycle and end up having complications which would definitely happen as well if they were unaware of an unknown kidney aliment.
Muscleg33kWhen I was on ECA stack my BP went off the chart. I decided to eat 2 avocados a day which provides a good source of potassium (2000 mg of potassium total) and they made a huge difference for me.
This is a perfect spot to post a few tips about BP supporting supplements: 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar a week will help reduce blood pressure and water retention...obviously this would be very beneficial those running compounds such as Test-E to help combat bloat and high BP. Also those who use Hawthorne Berry Extract YOU MUST pre-load this supplement a week or two prior to starting your cycle as it will initially RAISE your BP since it works through dilation! Once it has accumulated in your system it will lower your BP for the duration of your cycle if taken regularly. One other great effect is hawthorn berry appears to eliminate plaque. As plaque begins to form along the arterial walls, the blood vessels narrow. But the flavonoids seem to prevent the plaque from forming along the walls and reduce the amount of low-density lipoprotein (the bad cholesterol) in your bloodstream. With less plaque, your blood pressure falls.
AnonGreat I'll use that to make some salad dressing with olive oil and mustard. 1/2 a cup will be no prob !
That's funny you brought up apple cider vinegar. My great grandma's health remedy to all. I have it on hand always, I was having bad water retention and had to force my kidneys to flush and what do you know it worked 1tbl spoon 3xed my grandma lived to 106.
The stuff taste like shit but it's healthy for you so why not. You do have to watch you acid levels as not to over do it. But you are right about the potassium issue I was reading up on the dangers potassium can pose to kidneys and heart if the levels get out of hand. Its deadly honestly! I read up on it trying to figure out why I was having a major arthritic flare up lasting over a month. Doctor gave me prednisone and helped but still wanted to cure it with out prednisone.
Muscleg33kDo you drink 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar through a straw?
"A dentist once told me that although apple cider vinegar is good for your body, it's not so good on your teeth. The acid that apple cider vinegar contains wears away the enamel on your teeth, as does any acidic food or drink."
http://voices.yahoo.com/apple-cider-vinegar-that-366977.html
Lol...nothing is good for your teeth. Anything acidic such as vinegar, soda, or even juice will cause wear on tooth enamel. Does that you mean you must drink all juice/soda through a straw? It's really up to you...But personally I don't "drink" apple cider vinegar anyways that's be nasty lol! I use it along with spices to marinate chicken. This was just a health tip I learned which I thought useful as it has double benefit to combating water retention and BP...Ain't like I'm measuring that shit out precisely as a dosage!
Supernova283Just take it rectally then. ;)
vinegar gets BP down very fast, just mix with water and slowly keep drinking it
Good Post tread..+1 Like your really need anymore points..Blood pressure is very inportant to keep an eye on..As a matter of fact in need to get some Coq10, Hawthornberry, red yeast supps..My blood pressure is a bit high..
Invest in a simple BP cuff...they got an assortment of them on Amazon for anywhere from around $30 something and up. Great investment!! Oh, and take triple strength dose of fish oil complex and CoQ10, lots of water, and low salt.
3 shots of apple cider vinegar a day boiled beets, omega3's and eat low cholesterol and sodium foods. I always warm up with cardio 10-20 min speed cycling, I sweat like mad.

Medical Help
All, I wanted to clarify something that helped me.
Everyone says do cardio, and I was but that was not what really helped. I always managed to find an AC vent or fan aimed at my chosen stairmaster or treadmill, so I wasn't sweating enough.
I changed to doing the same machine, not near a vent or fan, until I was soaking wet from sweat. This helped the minor edema I was dealing with, along with my BP. I also sit in the steam room after I workout.
So, when everyone says cardio, that in itself is not enough, you have to sweat buckets, that is the desired effect to get maximum benefit.
I do not believe in Roid Rage, with that said a clean low sodium diet should bring BP to the lower levels. I hate Cardio and who does not. Currently my BP is 120/70 no Meds involved. EVERY person who is on and those that are not should know their numbers.
I have bp probz, fast sudden heart beats and dizzyness burst blood vessles ect..im gettin it in check now so i can do my cycle for me its stress so if someones stressin u or something is gettin to you sort tht b4 doing a cycle also diet is key to sorten hypertension.bp is the silent killer !
blood pressure is never an issue as long as I hit the treadmill pre-workout.Half hour and I am g2g
After completing a 12wk test e/p kicker followed by a through PCT and time on+ time off, my BP is still higher than it was before my cycle....
Any advice? I have been wanting to start another but my BP is still in the 150's...
I myself had the same problem after my last cycle, what were you on?how long have you been off? what was the bottom number? stroke/heart problems are no joke.... it took about 3 weeks for me to get back to normal. I had to use some medication but was able to get off of it. give me the other information and I may have some suggestions for you if you still have the problem..
sgtstedankoTry this, brother. Beet root (powder), vita e, plant sterols, ed, e f d... Works for me. Adding in more sprinting cardio, on top of all that, helps w/dbols bp attributes on me... Try it, live it, love it!
thanks bro appreciate the help
sgtstedankoNot a problem, my man...
I geared for a year with no break on just testE..At about 10 months i started getting headaches come to find out my bp was high.. i started walking and meditateing daily and brought it down plus i cleaned up my diet..cardio-eat clean- and relax as much as possible and you will feel 100% better..If someone causes you stress or needless aggravation lose em! Cause you dont need it..
Blood pressure is the force of blood against the walls of arteries. Blood pressure is recorded as two numbers—the systolic pressure (as the heart beats) over the diastolic pressure (as the heart relaxes between beats). The measurement is written one above or before the other, with the systolic number on top and the diastolic number on the bottom. For example, a blood pressure measurement of 120/80 mmHg (millimeters of mercury) is expressed verbally as "120 over 80."
Normal blood pressure is less than 120 mmHg systolic and less than 80 mmHg diastolic.
Ace inhibator- Linsipril love it, only pop it when my bp hits 150s drops back to 110-120 in about 15 minutes last about 15 hours. Will not run a cycle without having it on hand, like pct and ai's.
Same here brother Lisinpril is my best friend.. 10mgs doest it for me
.
So, my latest cycle I experienced crazy BP. This hasn't ever happened to me before. I read this post about Linsipril and thought shit i'm gonna try that. Here is the real deal.... I have been on linsipril for 2 weeks. My BP is starting to come down this morning it was 122/80 I still have times in the day and evening when it gets to 150's/90's really sporadic, but I believe it is stabling out with time. I stopped my cycle at a few days before I started linsipril. I'm not a doctor but I strongly believe BP pills work over time, not a quick fix. I was freaked out cause I felt like shit and my BP was jacked...all the other sups I normally use to fix it didn't work. I believe the reasons for the high BP were, too much sodium, not enough cardio, and dbol. Dbol isn't for me. DONT THINK YOU CAN POP A BP PILL FOR A QUICK FIX
The only thing I can say about this reply is that it may not work for you. I have went through four different BP meds all under the supervision of my doctor, who knows I do gear. My dose is 70 mg yours I would assume yours is 5-30 mg since that is typical. Linsipril will kill you very easily, so yea I would not recommend it without a doctors script. It takes alot of trial and error, that is why your dosage starts low, your doctor will bump you up after monitoring you for a few weeks until you find your sweet spot. Like I said, it can drop you from 190 to the grave easy (so yes it can be a one pill quick fix), tell your doctor your goals. Linsipril is great for people with sporadic high bp, because it is active and maintains your system for 15 hours, this option is good for only using when necessary. Once again, bp meds only under supervision of a doctor. Everyone reacts different to meds your doctor will find what is best for. Sounds like a viagra commercial. The storey is the same high bp can kill you, medicine is just one of several options to help. Also 122 to 150 odds are no doctor will write you a script pre and stage 1 they might on the high side. If you were to go to a emergency room with a BP of 215 over 115 they still wont give you bp meds
just a muscle relaxer and big fat bill C-EMT, not a doc... yet
It does work for me. I appreciate you posting what you did. My dr has me on 20Mg per day it just took over 2 weeks to kick in. That was my point. You mentioned that you pop one like an AI and it could bring your pressure right down. What what I have learned is that the BP meds take time, not a quick fix. Also, I agree with you that you shouldn't take this stuff without dr help.
thanks for your post.
AnonI have some hypertension at times but its not too high but i think its due to gear use not abuse. I take my vitamin e,c, multi vit min, a separate multi mineral and 4 omegas each day along with a vitamin b12 shot each week. Maybe gonna try l- arginine to maybe lower the blood pressure just a bit.
A little rectal bleeding is this normal. Any info would be great, second cycle 500 test 300 deca
jasonhare ya doing alot of deep squats and dead lifts? these can aggravate hemriods, try hemroid cream and get ride of the John Wayne toilet paper
Yeah man I am but I've done this a lot just never had this problem. Toilet paper Is on the gf lol I'll let her know. Thanks brother
sgtstedankoUm, I'd say. Not unless you're a gay man, brother : ( or : ) depends on your point if view, I guess...
Definitely not bro, never had this prob before. It is a very little amount, just concerned
sgtstedankoIf it persists, head to the doc. But occasionally happens to me too. I don't know why. Honestly glad I'm not the only one : ) I don't have the balls to get my pooper para-scoped ;'(
I had some hemroid flares from desicated liver tabs in high doses
Yeah it's not bad, me too bro lol I was freaking out a little. Thanks

I mentioned this further down in the thread yesterday, but I think tread might be on to something with the Tumeric. I would go for an extract referred to as Curcumin (it is often compounded with Boswellia serrata extract and given a name like Boswellin for joints. Some of the people I recommend it to quit using it because of digestive problems (I have been told "pain" & "it hurts my stomach" without asking for further details). I'm pretty sure this side effect is from the Boswellia part of the compound, although Curcumin is known to cause diarrhea in some. Wiki search for more info. I am a strong believer that as with most herbal extracts it is important to include some of the base herb because our science tries to look for the specific component and misses that there is something in the whole herb that modern medicine doesn't understand. In this case, that would be looking for actual plain Tumeric in addition to the extract on the label.
Tumeric is the real deal and is found in abundance in Curry Powder. In addition to helping lower high blood pressure which it does by thinning the blood, Tumeric aids in weight loss, decreases inflammation, and may event prevent Alzhemier's disease and other motor neuron diseases. Tumeric helps reverse inflammation by interfering with the conversion of acids that cause inflammation. It helps you lose weight by accelerating the rate at which your body burns fat. It even helps protect the liver from toxins. I usually put curry powder on my chicken and turkey and even sprinkle it in a bowl of pinto beans. Your blood pressure, and your overall health, will benefit immensely from a clean diet with ample amounts of Tumeric found in curry powder.
OE2000I've been taking Tumeric for about a month now, 1600mgs per day and have noticed the "poppin" sounds in my shoulders have ceased, more like "sandpapering" going on when doing shrugs. Also have noticed an increase in bowel movements... went from 1-2 times a day to 3-4, no diarrhea, no cramps, just an increase in frequency. My BP fluctuates so much its hard for me to tell its impact 110/70 to 145/105 within a 24 hour period. But Curcumin extract is more powerful than Tumeric itself?
Is that blood pressure fluctuation unusual for someone that has normal stresses in life? I had a reading once, a little higher than usual and the response was "not bad for the end of a long day"
Curcumin extract is what the labels are referring to as the standardized extract (?) of tumeric. Dumbing it down it is the "active ingredient". I noticed a brand that is out of my price range on the shelf recently named "Tumeric Force" if I remember right. It has a standardized extract and a supercritical extract (the only time I've seen that done to tumeric). The label did not mention that it contained straight up tumeric in addition to their extracts so that puts up a red flag for me. I strongly believe the body needs some of the base herb. My logic there is pretty easy to criticize. It is like saying asprin is no good without some willow bark in the pill.
I'm not a doctor, I just play one on TV - but if you were to take my advice I would keep the 1600mg of tumeric and add an extract then adjust. I take the "NOW" brand and find it effective and affordable. As mentioned previously I take it compounded with Boswellia serrata extract (something else for you to research and determine if it is right for you).
Wikipedia has an article on curcumin, reading that for warnings is better than doing no research at all. There is a citation for it lowering the level of (something I could go there to copy and paste back here) which indirectly could result in a higher risk of colon cancer.
I am sure to mention my use of it to Dr's - usually gets a response. My primary care Dr mentioned his curiosity in its use in Alzheimer's treatments. When I mentioned it for surgery pre-screening the nurse practically yelled back "STOP TAKING THAT, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU TAKING THAT" - because it reduces joint inflammation - "oh, well, then don't take it for the next 7 days before your surgery please". Now I'm seeing another doctor that doesn't want me going back on it yet.
It's also used for anxiety disorders and stress. You could draw some conclusions about roid rage and if it sounds useful.
I wouldn't say cut out all alcohol, several studies show a glass of beer, wine or a shot of liquor per day can lower the risk of heart disease. Give me a moment and I'll find the studies that show cutting out all alcohol provides no additional decrease in blood pressure over someone who drinks moderately.
Cardio, potassium rich fruits and veggies, tea, meditation/yoga, etc are great for BP in addition to most things already mentioned.
I was mistaken, the NIH says two drinks per day for men.
http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/heart/hbp/hbp_low/hbp_low.pdf
And the Mayo Clinic thinks says two drinks a day for men as well, one for the ladies.
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/high-blood-pressure/HI00027
lol......funnily enough I have also given up the beer. I do miss it but not as much as not doing the obvious! Cardio helped an awful lot. I am struggling to get enough water in me tho!!
tread-mDrop the salt from your diet as much as possible too pdog and never pick up a salt shaker again brother, some benefit there.
yeah i had to give up the drinking also....best thing i could do. i almost passed out on my second cycle cause my bp was so high..now i control my diet dont drink except when im off cycle and keep diuretics on hand with plenty of cardio, water and potassium pills to boot...high bp can KILL YO ASS!
Thanks for this thread.
I have had spikes of high BP in the past from drinking and ephedrah was a big time hit way back when I would drink every night and pop ephedra everyday.
That ended badly and I stopped drinking but I noticed certain times of elevated BP from gear and eating crap high in sugar. Well, I realized that AAS do assist negatively on BP if you don't hold a strict diet and or are prone to high BP. So far less soda and a few pounds shedded has worked wonders and Xanex (even though I don't condone it's use long term or weekly let alone daily has recently helped).
Glad to see this being discussed because IF you are prone to high BP AAS CAN negatively affect SOME of you and it's a good idea to get your BP checked about once a week if it's fine and obviously more if not. Also if you haven't really done this before check it at various times on amd off cycle and at different times of day....just knowing means your ahead of any possible issue.
can fake gear give you a beat red face and insomnia?my face is beat red and i cant sleep...im only takin 500 ml of test a week what is happening?
