Bone Marrow Donor experiences?

Yesterday I got a phone call from a local childrens hospital letting me know I am a positive match for bone marrow transplantation. I had almost forgotten that I signed up 3-4 years back. I scheduled my appt. for later next week. Does anyone have any experience donating bone marrow?
P.s. The doctor on the phone said that 90+ percent of people that sign up for bone marrow donations never follow through with the actual donation. I was completely disgusted.

I did the allogeneic bone marrow transplant. Which I believe is the same one that you got if it was for another person.

hmm great job if you go threw with it brother your saving a life, what ms woody said is that they have to put you under then litterly go into your bone to grab the marrow and stuff, remember yours will always regenerate. had this done to my cussin and he is actually cancer free now 5 years beside every few months has to get blood work done.
