Sport Bike vs Cruiser... Let the battle begin!

I've owned 4 sport bikes over the years, and will buy my 5th next spring. So here's my argument- Riding should be an exhilarating experience, the entire purpose of a bike IMO is the aspect of nimble speed and track capability. Cruisers (Harley in Specific) have become slow bloated chrome covered convertibles. If I wanted open air and 30mpg, I'd just cut the roof off a corolla...

I've had the most fun on the smaller cc bikes, FZ600 or something similar... nice n light, plenty of speed and not to heavy to roll out from under when you hit the bricks or down an embankment ...... as opposed to a 1200cc or a Hayabusa .... plus those Yamaha's will take a beating and start every time ;-)
I hit the tracks pretty often, but that mainly because there are 3 tracks with open class riding within an hour of Dallas. 15$ for a few high speed runs with tight corners? Count me in lol. I'll agree with the lack of knowledge/skill with some of the bigger bikes, but the same goes for a novice that buys a cruiser so heavy he can't lift it back up after a low side. I've never found a cruiser that can even stay in sight on a twisty back road, even if they have a 600cc+ advantage.
AnonWell git yo ass up north so I can show you one novice who can pick his heavy bike up , and stay with you on some roads that I bet are a lot more fun and challenging than what you have in Texas.
You haven't hit a pot hole until you have hit a north east pot hole lol. Nothing like the winding uneven roads with hair pin curves and frost heaves to make for riding through its own special mine field lol.

Anongot a 919 honda hornet-de tuned fireblade engine..basically a naked cruiser/sportsbike!
919's were a perfect balance. Great performance and an upright riding position. Just difficult to find one @ a decent price.
Anongot a 06..should be at a give away price these days for that model..add cans and re map it you got yourself a pretty intence bike..that still happily drops down around the twisties with ease..honestly a fun bike;)
AnonNot sure why u wanna buy a bike for a track? Track capabilities? I bought my bike to ride everyday on the street/highway. I ride a dyna and there isn't a sport bike I can't ride with. I don't go under 100mph on the highway and one thing I've noticed about sport riders. They love going fast until there's nowhere else to go but white line or until they see a cop. That's where I normally leave them in the dust. And their outfits? Y'all look like that freak in Pulp fiction that Zed keeps in that chest! All leather skin tight riding suits is the gayest shit I've ever seen. I hope u realize everyone who sees that automatically assumes u love hard cock in ur ass!
Oh and I know Busa is a true machine. A engineering masterpiece. I respect the design and artistry behind sport bikes. It's the people who ride them that annoy the shit out of me.
Yea, full leather racing suits with pucks might look a bit gay. But it's nice to hit the ground and be able to slide 60 yards with nothing more than bruises... I only wear leather on the tracks where it is a requirement, on the street I run mesh gear with Kevlar inserts. Still use knee pucks though, but you Harley riders wouldn't know about those considering those giant chrome highway bars prevent you from actually leaning into a corner lol.
The floor boards hit the ground way before your crash bars ever will. First time you do it it will give you a little pucker lol, but you just keep on riding thru. Plus, what chicks REALLY want ride on the back of a sport bike?
AnonLol I hate that shit too bro. I'm not much a sofa on wheels Harley guy. I bought a dyna street bob. Stripped down and building back up to fxdc standards. Stage 1 quarter fairing Thunder header pipe. Progressive shocks with the extra reservoir for added stability. Change the lower legs to fat bobs so I can add another rotor for added stopping power. It's completely blacked out. Rims motor primary. Tranny. Oil bag. Just need my forks blacked out.
AnonThere is indeed something so absurdly homo about the riding position and colors on a sport bike. Guys sitting atop them crouched up like frogs with their ass in the air . Just waiting to get to the next highway rest area ;)
Quite frankly unless you are at the track, the sport bike is the one that seems the waste to me.
I will say this... I live about 30 mtns from some nice mtn roads... crotch rockets are a lot of fun zipping through those curvy road... however, I'm a cruiser girl..
AnonI'd ride anything on two wheels. There's just a world of difference in brotherhood. When a rider is stranded on the side of the road sport bikes will ride right past them like "who gives a fuck" but u get a guy pass by on a Harley and for sure they stop and help. My uncle ride to sturgis on his own and had some motor problems on the way. A pack from Cali saw his plates and stopped. They fixed his bike with their own parts and took him in as one of their own. He partied the whole time with them. That's shit ain't gunna happen with any other kind of rider. No way.
After riding for over 7 years.. I can attest to this.. if you are on the side of the road you can bet your butt another Harley rider will stop and help... Hell I even had to ride on the back of some strange guys bike about 45 miles.....

I like 2 wheels but I have to say raptors and yfz450s hold a special place in my heart.. besides the fact if traffic is bad or cops come you can say screw it and easily go onto grass or in the woods
