+ 1 getting married
ad
Getting married in a few weeks, well supposed to be. Im stressed the fuck due to everything going on in my life n its scaring me that maybe the girl of my dreams really might not be. I guess getting cold feet? To all the guys who are married, how do you make it last, or before you got married did you feel the same as me? How did you continue to strive forward?
I feel she has changed as a person, changed as my lover, and makes excuses for everything. can you guys help? Is she the "one"

I was in the same position as you, bro. I know some what of how you feel. I knew when I first met my wife that she was the one. We honestly never had any fights the whole 18 months we were engaged and I never questioned our relationship, until it came close to the time to say I do. But I knew she loved me and I loved her. Looking back now, I beleive the cold feet was due to my immature thinking like, Shes going to be my last poke, pardy is over and etc, but all of it was self-centered. The first year of married life I did what I wanted to do,and didn't include her in anything, thinking I made a mistake. Needless to say the reason for those feelings was, even though we loved one another, I was a child that was afraid to grow up and be a man. I'm so glad I married her because its better now than its ever been. Infact now we feel like there isn't any two people in the world that love each other than we do. Lessoned learned is that life is not over when you get married, It just changes a bit. Just don't eat the wedding cake and you'll be fine lol.
Thank you for the positivity
Remember the only way you can get a divorce is to get married. RUN
Shit man once you get married life as you know it is over. lol No more freedom and if she is controlling now just wait until you get hitched. That ball and chain will feel heavier than ever. For me I don't disagree with my wife and let her win every arguement we have, because I found out my life is alot better when I do this. Communication is huge and marriage is 100% compromise. My first year was really hard and I couldn't tell you how many times I wanted to throw the towel in. You just can't and have to try a little harder than if she was your girlfriend, sex partner or even someone you are dating. After 6 six years of marriage my wife and I couldn't be happier. I had cold feet too, but told myself fuck it this is something I need to do in my life and if things don't work out I will stay single a bang new broads all the time. Good Luck
Haha nice
No one is going to lie to you and say marriage is easy. However, the good far outweighs the bad! I know my husband would agree! Every relationship is different. No one here can guarantee you anything. I do know getting married was right for me. Well, getting married to the person I did. Honestly, before him I never wanted to be married. We got married after dating for 3 months. Every situation is different. Your story is your own. Follow your heart.
I'm going to. thank you
Marriage is no different then anything else, you get out of it what you put into it. You should be able to communicate with her if your at the point of getting married so I would sit her down and talk to her about any concerns you have and tell her about some problems that you realize you have and are trying to work on, this way its not a "shes the problem". Then sit patiently while she tells you how she feels whether you like what you hear or not, it is very important to make her feel like she is safe to talk to you about anything, dont tell her how she should feel either there hers and shes entitled to them. If you dont feel that you can communication with her about these things then you should ask her to do some counseling with you because in a relationship if one person argues you both loose. if shes not willing to do any kind of counseling then call off the marriage and tell her the relationship needs more time to mature. I have been going to couples counseling for 3 years, and my relationship is beyond anything I ever thought possible.
Thanks. I am working on myself n hope she can follow lead n work on herself
beavisAll peoples situations are different than what you can possibly explain here. I got married 4 years ago to a woman I have been with for 9 and its the biggest mistake ever. We can barely stand to be in the room together haven't screwed in months and things just aren't good.. basically she changed and I did'nt. Which sounds like may be happening to you. So now you bought the engagment ring... the wedding ring.... prepare for the suffer-ring.... Sorry dude.
Ugh...:-( why can't life be easy
AnonLife isn't "Easy" and who ever sold you that bill of goods ought to be reminded that life also isn't "fair" .. fair is a place where you eat cotton candy, funnel cakes, and elephant ears, watch the figure 8 races, buy tickets for the ferris wheel, and play games. Easy is the con man's game and always too good be true.
Hey brother nothing worth having is easy! Marriage is absolutely work and can be well worth it if your with the right person! Don't get me wrong I am as jaded as the next pissed off ex husband. But things are not the same for everyone. The only constant there is, is that relationships require maturity and work and they always do. It never stops but it does get easier to manage life brother.
Two words: "Yes Dear". But really. It's a 2 way street. You gotta give a little and take a little. reading your post your taking more than giving. Don't do thid because you think you have too. That will never work. There is nothing wrong with waiting.
Ya I realized that yesterday. I needed to show her more respect n everything. thank you
if...IF...you have to think about "yes" its no
AnonUnfortunately Mark is right. I am guessing your fiancee is thinking the same thing as you
tread-mGotta hit you some points brother. Your words below looking in and willing to do so rather than always looking out is inspiring in a self involved world. I'll be in front of the mirror if you need me brother...lol
That's pretty cold Bro-----you're taking points from him----just before his wife-to-be takes money from him.
Oh man you guys are getting brutal!! smh lol
I don't understand? Lol
First my disclaimer: I will be the first to admit that marriage isn't for everyone. After 11 years of hell and several relationships this is a little bit of what I have learned.
How long have you been together and are there children involved? If so there is a lot more than just your heart on the line. I am not say marry for the kids sake in some instances it may be better to not be together for the kids sake. I think you could benefit from some counseling but not pills. One thing I can promise you....If you have problems in the relationship now they will be ten fold and forever in the marriage. Whats the rush you can still be together and take care of each other until your ready for marriage. Is this her idea or is it mutual? Maybe she has the same reservations as you. But if you cannot be honest about it now then you will hate each other later! Honesty has to be key (honesty in all things especially emotional honesty), and you should be able to be honest with her without fear of being hammered because you hurt her feelings and she shut down because she didn't like what you were saying. If that is the case she is not hearing what you are saying and that is not communication. Likewise you need to be open to the things she has to say and be willing to hear the things that may hurt. If she likes to flirt with other guys and you cannot handle that...that's OK! You have just established a boundary you cannot accept. By establishing these things up front in the relationship you will help strengthen your chances of success in marriage and more importantly you will establish what is right for you and maybe your kids.
P.S. If your on cycle or especially coming off you are not in the truest frame of minds. Your hormones are off and your decision making abilities may not be firing and your ability to cope with stress is greatly dismissed.
Ya 2 kids. 5 n 2 years old. It was mutual to get married! N you hit the nail on the head...I am coming off of my first cycle n my body n brain have totally took a hit hard! I have finally realized from talking go all of you guys that I am the one wrong here. I need to fix myself n she will follow lead
I also just now realized I wasn't giving her any respect quite honestly n it was because its out of my own frustrations in life. I figured out what I need to do and that is to be a MAN about the situation! Be the leader that she needs. The cool headed on saying everything will be ok and to be in confidence when I say it. I may never be ok with her dancing with another man, or her watching a porno if it were not with me. but everyone and every relationship is different. n if it does happen, ill just do it back to her double lol.
Hopefully those issues would be resolved before marriage my friend. Your right with respect. It must go both ways though. One thing to remember is even though you are the man in the relationship you are still married and you are also a family unit. That means you talk to each other about decisions together and yes it is crucial to be confident and sure about yourself. It is equally important to display strength she and your kids can depend on. I think you should read a quote I left on Sarge's forum quotes. It outlines what I think are the best qualities in a man.

Thank you ill check it out
Pelon, my brother, if you ain't feelin' it, slam on the brakes man!
From what I can gather you don't sound like you're meshing very well. I would be putting on the brakes if I were you. I'm lucky enough to have a woman who is into the things im into, enjoys all the things I enjoy. We see eye to eye on most issues, and when we do have disagreements we don't let them get out of hand. Jealousy is non-existant. We are both flirtatious people and do it openly with the opposite sex. It's fun and it keeps things interesting. I wish I could elaborate but couples that play together, stay together. There is no complaints in the sex dept, attention, affection, nothing we can't talk about. I guess my point is, you should know when the other person is the one. You don't seem too sure. In fact it sounds like the opposite.
Ya as of right now, she isn't the one. but the question is why? She says I change n I say she has
Just agree with her "yes I've changed. I'm sorry but this doesn't feel right".
100% agreed.
Hey---didn't I see you guys at Hedo-fest last year???....lol
We're planning a trip to Hedo2. We were up at Gunnison beach on memorial day weekend (nude beach). Spending 3 days at a "private party" at a friends beach house. We know how to have fun together! I know you guys do too!
Pelon, forgive me for going off topic bro.
Sshhhh!
x2
wow!!! wish i wouldnt of read all these posts...so depressed now!
Lol! I'm with you!
D.P
Bro.....after talking to Grrrl, I would urge you to get some counseling and resolve the jealousy/insecurity issues-----I used to be TERRIBLE about that. Grrrl has guy friends that she talks to......sexts with. I've seen her on the dance floor grinding on guys that she just met 10 minutes before, and I can tell you right now that she has NEVER cheated on me. She LOVES to check guys out in porn flicks----doesn't bother me one bit------because every single morning, she STILL leaves me love notes, and tells me 20 times a day how much she loves me, and we have always had an open marriage with no jealousy at ALL. If I see a girl with a nice ass, I say..."Dayyyuuuuum...that girls got a great ass", and Grrrl simply laughs----I could fuck another girl if I wanted to....but the rule is I have to do it in front of Grrrl----haven't been able to pull that one off yet...lol.
The bottom line is we don't hide anything from each other----we have TRUST, and when you have trust, your bond is unbreakable........right now, YOU are the one that's broken, and you need to fix yourself, or you may as well put a divorce attorney on retainer right now, because you're going to need one at some point.
Learn to relax Bro, and be secure within yourself-----your bride will sense your confidence, and for a woman, confidence is a huge turn-on.
I'll leave you with an old proverb from the Bible::
Two bulls are standing at the top of a hill in a pasture, overlooking a group of cows. The young bull says to the old bull, "hey, lets run down and fuck a few of those cows". The old bull says.."How about we walk down and fuck them all".
Be the smart, old bull------not the stupid young one.
I understand og thank you. The thing I feel is things like that are disrespectful n she used to agree. like I told her I bet if she showed me that she was.into me then I wouldn't care she went to see a strippers movie. but she doesn't. she shows me no attention, doesn't ever leave me.love notes like she used to, non of.that. so it scares me as to why. Then she has excuses for everything so its like idk what fo believe. she also blames it on how I act n I blame her for how she acts
for example with the dancing thing. What's the point of being in a relationship if you want to grind on other dudes n stuff, things like that I don't understand because I am 100% about her n have no desire to dance with no other.chick or see any naked.or anything. you understand?
I am trying to relax but I can't even take a deep breathe. I have a Dr appointment today so ill see if I can get something. Then I worry, if I have to take pills to get along with my woman...is she the woman for me. Mind is racing.
Sounds like to me you are two dif ppl at two dif points in your life. Don't be scared to walk away....you have to have an end to start a new beginning......
x2 Good post. Agree about the jealously thing. I'ts got to go. Confidence is a must. Now if shes disrespecting you or giving you serious reason for suspicion of infedelity thats a dif story. But sounds like its you and your hormones lol! may wanna step back and check yourself bro.... gotta be happy with yourself before you can be happy with anyone else.
Yes I do agree it might be my hormone because I never used fo be like this. Im done with pct though. still feeling very down though
Yep----there's a certain member of eroids that Grrrl has a "cyber-relationship" with---it's so cute---the way they look into each other's cyber-eyes....grabbing each other's cyber-asses and fucking the cyber-SHIT out of each other.
And at the end of the day, even though I know she'll be in BFG's cyber-arms (FUCK!!--cyber-arms---that even sounds bad-ass), but hey, he's my boss: I'm not going to lose my job just because Grrrl won't put out.
Your right Cyber Arms does sound BEAST! Now I wanna sext him! Yah ppl gotta understand if you gotta worry about watching your significant other.. then u got the wrong one. Hell i encourage my chick to have fun. Got her some risque pics from the buffed up mexican fabio at our gym.....(that was tough) .....And of course dub G has done Bombarded her pics of what appears to be a 12 year olds arm, or his penis im not sure!!!!!!! Point is who gives a fuck. We both know if the other wants to leave or cheat they gonna do it. and hell we done both seen it all so whats the big deal. we're not kids you know.
CleyonThat cracked me up! I didn't know BFG was the Six Million Dollar Man! Of course now you've just outed him, and the feds are going to be coming after Steve Austin! Serously Cyber-Arms sound AWESOME!
CleyonTruer words were never spoken! Marriage is awesome, when done right. Just realize that you both have to go into it with the understanding that sometimes you have to struggle to make it work.
Ya Im thinking our stress n nervousness is just getting in the way n we need to push forward
CleyonDon't just go bulldog through it, take the time to have a heart to heart with her, and make sure you are on the same page. Most the problems I've had in relationships are due to lack of communication. Having real substantive conversations go a long way toward working through stuff. Best of luck bro, I'm sorry you're having these issues, but if you deal with them in a productive manner it can only help in the long run.
Thank you
Also I'm a firm believer that after so much beef and bad times some damage can never be undone. If you find youself dislikeing her or loathing her for no apperent reason, or resenting things shes done in the past it may be hard for u guys to ever have a healthy relationship.
