+ 1 Generation Iron Sucks.

ad

Well, I for one, am REALLY glad I didn't purchase the new Generation Iron DVD movie that was released at the beginning of this month and downloaded it instead.

Saved me $20+ in doing so and all it cost me was some download time and 2 hours of my life I will never get back.

MAN!!! IT SUCKED!!!!

I could have created a more entertaining bodybuilding movie by just filming some of the guys down at my gym. At least those guys hunt for their last reps. There was just no passion from the top stars of the bodybuilding world for what they do. If I wanted to watch it, to get myself worked up to work out, after watching it I'd be more interested in finding some anti-depressants and a dark corner of the living room to go and hide in.

There was no urgency in anything that was being talked about throughout the movie. Yes, you get to see SOME of the bigger names working out, but nothing that would, or even could, encourage you to get one more rep out in the gym as an incentive to look like these guys

Probably the most entertaining part of the entire movie was Branch Warren falling off his horse.

No wonder the Olympia and Arnold shows struggle as much as they do in the media when a movie is created and dedicated to the the top athletes of bodybuilding and the producers are unable to show even a glimmer of passion of what is needed and taken into the gym every workout.

IN MY OPINION: I rate Generation Iron a VERY poor 2/10

I enjoyed Kai Greene's narrative, but the rest were meh.

Those guys in the unneeded lab coats had me laughing my ass off... I don't think it was terrible but yes I expected more out of it.. I wish they touched on steroids a bit more.. it goes hand in hand with body building so it only seems right to educate the unaware viewers on the subject

I agree...it was slightly lame as shit..
Best part was pre ordering 2dvds @25$ and selling them on ebay for 46 and 38$!!

I have to agree on this topic! I was very disappointed with this and thought it could have or should have been much more! The part with Wolf trying to act was a joke lol

Yeah happy you said something I was pretty dissapointed in the movie too.. but it does portray how hard they do work and how much goes into being on stage, this shit is no joke! Still like Pumping Iron better!

After watching the movie, it made me think that bodybuilders should be compensated way better for what they do. Seriously their job is 24/7 non stop, and many have financial struggles. Their has to be more money in the fitness industry for them.

I was just bummed because they did not release it in enough theaters. For me I would have to drove 2 hours to see it which I'm glad I did not. They hyped it up to much and did a terrible job releasing it.

Well I did root for Kai, as eccentric as he is, a wonderful artist and damn big dude I like his personality. Branch was another I liked, the moment he took off on the horse you could tell the horse was not happy. The movie itself definitely could have been more involved with maybe less contestants allowing it to be more In depth. But overall the movie was about the contest itself, that 2 day show and nothing else.
I'm surprised that anobolics was even mentioned in the movie. Having said that I would have liked to have heard some of the stacks and cycles these guy's have used over the years. I also would have liked to know what they do for money. I'm sorry but 1 million top place would barely cover the cost of phil's taxes, much less food ,supplements or hgh.

That should show some of those anti-gym nerds that some meat-heads have a little intelligence. That was very smart of him to do that, because the sport is a business, and his body is what he is marketing. When you are born your name is already considered a corporation, that's why your name is in all caps on your drivers license and registration. Traveling is a human right and driving is a privilege, but the law states that driving is for commercial use, which means you are getting compensated for doing so. Uncle Sam does that so they can trick the free and sovereign citizens into feeling obligated to pay for those things and most people don't understand what basic freedoms they have. I know he had to go through a process to incorporate his name, but I am not sure what the difference is compared to your born corporate name, other that being able to get the perks of being a business, but regardless, if he can consider his food taxable income, then good for him.

The lab scenes with pakulski and the researcher were laughable. I wanted to stab my eyes out. Still, I can't help but root for Kai. Even though a lot of his story is bullshit. Phil didn't come off good. Roelly is a beast. Wolf came off looking dumb. Didn't really show any of the guys well except for Kai. Branch falling of the horse was awesome.
