+ 1 Depression

ad

Hey everyone. So I've been battling depression most my life. Since late teens anyway. It has basically ruined my life till this point. I have been clean and sober over 6 years now. Did a lot of drugs and drinking as a kid. Been working out ten years solid. More than a few of them in the joint. Had the va run total test. Almost 600. Did my first cycle test only at 36. Depression gone. Life was good did proper pct feel like shit again. No better or worse. I thought 600 test was pretty good for my age. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Some great replies here and good advice also. CBBurr commented about cruising on Test for life. I agree - Test is clinically proven to alleviate depression and assist in mood swings. If someone has low Test levels they also often experience depression. There is a link. I don't do a lot of Test compared to most BBs - pretty much a TRT dosage - ...but I definitely find that my mental outlook diminishes if I don't use it regularly. I have tried Zoloft - fucked with my head more than depression - not saying that it's bad, but these drugs are attempting a general fix for a lot of complex psychological issues - there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to the human brain .They can't work for everyone. Test works for every guy - it's what makes us guys, it's natural - our bodies produce it..so for me it's the least invasive/intrusive, and most natural alternative.

Try some gaba (great for anxiety and even has potential to increase your GH) and 5-htp which will help stimulate serotonin and has been used for natural treatments for depression. It also is a hidden tool used by folks coming down of drugs that deplete your serotonin.
I always try and stay with natural remedies before looking to pharmaceutical methods.

Research it bro

Agree that Med's help with the imbalances! My life has changed dramatically since starting them. I take Effexor which is an SNRI. Has some of the lowest sexual side effects.

Zoloft or serequel mate. You need medication for depression chemical imbalance in the brain. Zyprexa is good also.

Those latter two are not approved in the US for treatment of (unipolar) depression

had to stop the serequel because it made me eat everything in sight

CBBurrr's picture

I'd try everything else first.

Even hanging yaself? Meds fix chemical imbalances in the brain, nothing else.

That's not true brother.

I'd rather cruise on 300 mg a week for life than get on anti depressants.
Those drugs have so many side effects and are often worse than the condition they are treating.
Some may have good luck with the drugs, but for lots of people they are terrible.
Pretty sure thats what killed of Carrie Fisher so young, indirectly.

I work in the field but I never push meds. Primarily because the real treatment for just about any psychiatric disorder is counseling/therapy first and foremost. There's not enough emphasis on that because pharmaceutical companies run this country. They want us to push drugs. And of course due to lack of access. Insurance companies won't cover it and they make it impossible for providers to work with them due to insane amounts of paperwork and time.

But you're right. Drugs carry the risk of side effects. Some of them intolerable, and/or dangerous. Psych meds, general meds, as well as AAS.

Ultimately it's your body and your choice and your right to do what you want with it. As long as it doesn't negatively effect the lives of others, which is when it normally becomes considered a problem.

I took a different approach, but I'm glad you found what worked for you.

I've been sober as well and have dealt with depression for years. I finally accepted the fact that I needed to be put on medication and it has worked wonders. Maybe something to check out with a good doctor. But Test is a great anti-depressant from my personal experiences.

I have had anxiety my whole life on my first cycle of just test boom gone when not on cycle it's back don't know ow what to say about it but maybe I'm supposed to have crazy high testosterone to make my anxiety to stay away idk

Masscheese638's picture

I know exactly how u feel. First cycle gone. First time in 20 years. It was nice but can't stay on forever. Thanks for your reply

333's picture

Yeah for sure not a good thing cause anxiety is crippling same with depression and to have tried everything possible to get rid of it and nothing works then you do find what will make it go away and it's 500mg test you have to be a strong person to say no to blast and cruise

CBBurrr's picture

when I was dialing in my E2 on trt I found that low E2 led to anxiety for me. On cycle, most guys see way more e2

I'll have to check that out next blood test how low or high it is

CBBurrr's picture

I'd look into free test as well as other blood work covering all the hormones.
Lots of other hormones can see changes when total test goes sky high. Could be estrogen, pregnenolone, progesterone, or even just the endorphins and dopamines from the awesome workouts.

You'll never find a TRT clinic to prescribe cycle doses of test to help your depression, and trying to cruise at a high level on your own with UGL gear would likely have its own negative impacts to your mental and physical health.

You have found a new piece in the puzzle to finding your cure, that alone is awesome. Depression sucks balls, and the meds they treat it with more often than not do more harm then the disease they are treating.
There is a big push now with some Dr's to treat depression with diet changes ( gluten, dairy and simple sugar elimination) and get patients off of meds.

good luck brother.

I really appreciate it man. It's a bitch. I'll get some
Blood work done and see. I was thinking free test might be jacked up to.
