+ 4 How long do you Train for?
ad
I thought it would be interesting to see how long everyone typically trains for when they hit the gym, just include the time you are in the gym and not commuting time also
I was thinking of doing a commuting time poll also after this if anyone would like to see one lol
Please remember to hit the 'Vote' button after you have selected your answer otherwise they don't register in the count.

I actually learned most of this style of training from reading about Makwa’s.
Jonathan22you guys should tell me how you just need 30 secs of rest without dying off the next set.
dying is the point. Are you in a gym or a spa? The point is to feel the burn, tear your muscle down. In a gym you get in and get out. In a spa, you relax.
Just do it. You either stay on the porch and play with the puppies or get off and roam with the big dogs
I only rest on Sundays. Sometimes we skip Saturday as well if we are away for the weekend, which is probably at least once per month. I know rest is important, and have tried taking Wednesdays off, but the whole day becomes uncomfortable knowing I didn’t work out. By Sunday, my body is crying for a break, so I don’t ever work out, but it is definitely mentally challenging. Sometimes we’ll take a five mile walk to break the monotony of sitting around.
Used to be 1.5 hours but cut down to an hour recently as changed from 4 days a week to 6. Leg days take a little longer, especially if I’m training heavy.
As if late bro it's 1.5hrs Normally it's an hour but I'm in limp mode with a possible torn pec, i had some bruising and lots of red dots which indicated a nice tear. Ouch. Just as my cycle is ending, figures lol but lately I'm doing slow resistance training, avoiding the bench for a bit. Damn inclines
Did you feel it go at the time mate - where abouts is it?
Oh yes bro haha I definitely felt it on that rep. Incline dumbbell flys, I dipped down to much or just over did it pushing those last reps. And Yep outer part of the pec towards the pit. I've iced the hell out of it, now I'm doing heat with emu oil rub. It's been 2 weeks and I'm finally able to do some light upper body workouts but it still hurts like hell
This is the problem with dumbbell flyes - great stretch but a bit too easy to rip something as you get older. I would go crazy with them after flat bench in my younger natty days with not a care in the world, but they are one of those exercises as you get older that you become wary of - same as bicep preacher curls!! lol
Preacher curls are a definite no go these days. Spent far too much time doing these when I first hit the gym, endless sets of bench press and preacher curls definitely took their toll.
Between cardio, warmup-abs and actual muscle training an 1.5
If it was just a regular day with no cardio or abs, I can be finished in 45 minutes but warmups and stretching takes a bit of time.
Warming up some day's can be a real pain, especially for the bigger full body exercises. Still you only have to think back to what it was like when you injured yourself because you didn't warm up thoroughly enough like I've done before. An extra 10 minutes warming up is better than 8 weeks off a body part Lol
Yep, that’s where I’m at now lol. I haven’t done chest or anything overhead in 8 weeks since the 150 incline dumbells. Now my workouts consist of 1.5 hours of warming up with some cardio. Lesson learned, now as I’m coming off, I’ll shift to shorter rest periods with more volume training. Looks like I’ll also be doing cables for a few more weeks.
The 150's on Incline are impressive bud!!
I have some catching up to do i guess to incline with you guys
