Hey kids,
Ed here with a little fanboy talk. With the recent bust of an unverified source the topic of fanboys has come up.
This place at times seems to be enamored with fanboys and in my opinion it's quite rediculous.
its all to common for a new source to pop up, the fanboys jump on board, work the new source for free gear and ride that source's cock to the bitter end. Shit goes down and that fanboy hops back on to a different train.
It's damn rediculous to say the least.
So this is my proposal.
I propose that we have a fanboys of the week post. I'm happy to write it up, you good folks at Eroids just need to provide me with the names and links proving it.
So that's how it would work.
You eroiders Pm me, or whoever you want tondo it, with the name, some proof. I'll take info, keep your name anonymous and write up a weekly write up exposing these douche bags.
If you find yourself getting called out you can defend yourself.
I think this would be good for the community and discourage all of the fanboy shit and all the pricks trying to work sources for free gear at the expense of the community.
What do you all think? Any input is absolutely appreciated.

After what happened with my long time source I know anything is possible. Sorry I bought gear from a guy who looked like a meth head and it worked very well for me and my boys. The submissions and proof given to me was enough to convince me of your being a fanboy or I wouldn't have posted it.
My suggestion would be to jump in the thread and defend yourself especially how you were able to use enough gear to submit 11 sources in one year and come to the conclusion that all 11 sources deserved perfect scores across the board.
The free gear...that was just something I had fun with, but being a shotgun fanboy...that's where you should evaluate.

I really am starting to get on a crush on you! Let's put all of these fuckers on blast. I've been trying for a couple of weeks to do this, and it's only finally catching on. We need more people to quit being so goddamn politically correct. After all of the busts lately, the time for diplomacy is fucking over. These fanboys/shills/gear whores are pumping up SRCs that are putting our lives and freedom in jeopardy. More of us need to stand the fuck up and call these assholes out.

So a couple of things I want cleared before I start dropping bombs.
First, are the mods on board with me doing this? I know they have enough work cleaning up shit, and these future threads do have shitstorm potential. Just want to make sure I have their blessing.
Second, how do you brothers want it? Do we want multiple fanboys of the week? Or do you just want one fanboy of the week. I see benefits of both. Multiple slaps the nuts of all fanboy nominations, but single really really slaps the nuts of some poor fanboy. Might leave the other fanboys worrying about their future.
Three. Can I get the fanboy of the week posted as a sticky that week? This would bring even a greater effect to the thread.
Brilliant idea, I'd vote for one fan boy a week.. Their 7 days of humiliation would really hammer in the message home to everyone else.
Just a shame that a infamous SI thread is now closed other wise we could cherry pick a whole bunch of quotes and general nut hugging material to get us started.
I'm in favor of this. It may help quell the ridiculousness that is fanboyism. If you lay out exactly what constitues a fan boy (again) in Laymens terms so that its black and white , when someone fits the bill , by all means , put Em on blast! I am not going to censor anyone who calls another man out for acting like a child. I'm a fan of this and frankly I'd like to see where it goes.

Speaking for myself only, I'm standing on the sidelines ready to drop a flag on the field should things go south... If a lot of karma gets tossed around this'll be going to off topic right quick (probably will anyway).

Well, what makes a fan boy?
1). Defending a source against legit customer complaints
2). Dogging other members for making complaints
3). Uncalled for ,overly enthusiastic show of love for the source , it's service or products in the middle of a debate or complaint by another member (ex: well every time I ordered I had a great experience)
4). Creating a buzz with gossip and other bullshit to promote a source discussion thread to the top of the page. Starting a discussion about ones balls , bitches or their badassedness to bait other fanboys in a long drawn out discussion about nothing pertaining to gear or the source.
Just a few things off the top of my head. I could get more in depth. Point being it would be pretty obvious if someone is being s fan boy. And if someone thinks it's being overly critical or disrespectful to other members , I say they should have thought about that before jumping on source nutt hugging bandwagons. Maybe it's not too late to save their soul. It could be a positive thing. A deterrent. Besides, it's disrespectful to the menber with a source gripe or negative experience who tries posting about it and gets anal raped with sandy vaseline. I say we let natural selection take effect. I with you on the let them go and see how it plays out idea.
As for off topic post. It can go in off topic. Doesn't matter really if you look at intent. I don't see Ed as a karma whore. General discussion is for anything pertaining to the site , gear, or eroids politics in my eyes. But off topic works just the same.

I'm in full agreement with everything you said. As far as the karma goes it's not Ed I'm worried about, it's the anticipated banter I expect will be up voted. (or down voted)
The positive is the fact that the fanboy in question can pay for his fanboyship.
For me the posts where karma is in question holds people accountable.

But i really don't care either way. The only way I can get a higher ranking is if I get a pro, guru, or mod tag and neither of those have anything to do with karma.

I think this will be an improvement for the fact that there are quite a number of members who get bullied by fanboys to the point that nobody dares speak up. This gives the noob a voice when that kind of shit happens without them getting ass raped by higher karma fanboys.
I think this would cut down on the selective scamming and make the sources account for shit and not leave it up to the fanboys.
This will keep guys checking themselves and if I'm wrong gives them a chance to defend themselves.
For me, really if I get someone singing my karma..good or bad. It really doesn't matter. My tag likely isn't going to change either way.
Selective scamming would go down significantly bro due to the fact that u will expose the fanboys the distort the truth. Also I think u should do multiple fanboys till it's slows down cuz fanboying is on the rise man

I think all nominees get posted with evidence. Then the community votes on who gets the ultimate fanboy of the week tag and hopefully sticky

Another thought, with all of the fanboys, I don't think it is right to go after someone who is genuinely loyal to a source, with that I mean, they got good service, good gear and they are appreciative of it so they have good things to say about them. It's when they cross the line and jump someones shit for a negative review or a negative comment that they will deserve a nomination. This is what hurts the process. People need to let the source handle his own shit and his own problems. There is a difference between a fan and a fanboy.
