+ 2 Anyone else bring your own attachments?

ad

Recently I've started to bring a few of my own attachments to the gym. Nothing big, just some handles that work better for my wrists because they rotate. I keep them in my backpack when not in use and I try not to be obvious or obnoxious. Anyone else do this and am I douchebag for doing it?

I bring my own wrist rolling thingy and my own tibialis bar because nowhere seems to have them. Get the odd person curious about it.

I've been heavily considering getting a mag grip lat pulldown attachment for my gym. I avoid seated rows for the exact same reason, the only options we have are these off brand multi-grip attachments that never seem to work for my body type or wrist comfort. And I don't think it's obnoxious at all, you clearly just want a good workout and you're going out of your way to make that happen.

The only downside is people are going to be eyeing your lat pulldown attachment, and would want to give it a shot after you're done, and then be extremely disappointed when you pack it back into your gym bag and walk away. That's happened to me a few times where I was eyeing an attachment someone had only to realize it was theirs lol

We have the knockoff BLUSLIMs at my primary gym, and I miss them at travel gyms.

I bought a Vulcan style strap a couple months ago and the jungle gym is even more fun now!

I tend to just bring 2 extra socks - I find the added bulk makes all the difference in seeking out prospective mates.

And here I was thinking I am the only one that does that.

If you are working hard I don’t think anyone can call you a douche. If you go make some crazy set up that takes up the whole gym and barely doing shit then ya thats gay. But I doubt you are doing that. Do whatever you need to do in there to be successful

I can't really imagine anyone thinking your a douche bag for that. I don't ever just because I'm paranoid that a worker will see me bagging a piece of equipment and think that I'm stealing.

I bring my own with me as well. I maintain several gym memberships and I prefer to use my own handles much for the same reasons as you state, mine all work well, aren't squeaky and they rotate good to keep my wrists in decent shape. I don't see anything wrong with doing this at all, and agree with others, I strongly dislike the folks who film themselves or hang out in packs around gear but are shooting the breeze versus working out. I tend to observe most serious folks about working out and taking care of themselves could care less about what others are doing around them, you do you.

I have a decent amount of powerlifting stuff in my bag. Plus some rope attachments. People are so worried about being a douchebag in the gym because of social media. Nobody gives a fuck what you do and people are more worried about themselves.

Yeah my gym doesn't allow tripods so while you see people filming sometimes, it's not really an issue
