Knee Pain

ad

This was the most appropriate place to post this so, hope it belongs.

Anyway, I've had mild pain above my right knee for a while now but recently it's gotten worse, sitting for a while causes stiffness/pain, stretching it out causes pain etc...

It's fucking killing my squats off but there's no way I can just stop training legs.

So I was wondering if anyone else has this problem at all? Any suggestions on what to do?

Mine is right below the knee. hurts like hell day after squatting and during as well. pretty sure tendonitis is the cause. wrapping knees with GOOD knee wraps such as from titan or inzer will help a bunch. also don't squat as much. try doing good mornings (which if done properly will kill the hamstrings, and glutes) this has made a significant difference in knee pain for me-building the hamstrings, seems like they take more of the load than the knees now. also deadlifting can be a great alternative to squatting if the knee is troubling you at the moment.

Only just read this, cheers for the info man I'll give some new wraps a go and keep working my hamstrings!

Dude, you're young - go get that shit checked out before you do something detrimental and permanent. You have endorphins that are generated once you start working out that will mask the discomfort but the root cause is still there. Get an MRI asap.

I suffer from periodic knee pain but I wrecked a bike several years ago and bent my leg in directions in which it is not designed to go. When I get heavy, it bothers me. When I lean out, it magically goes away.

I will defo get it checked out but depends what the doc is willing to do about it.

I've had a bad knee for years but recently it's worse, I think the root cause of it is probably from the years I was overweight when I was younger but I'll get it checked.

It's just above the knee, hurts more if I put pressure on it.

Did legs today and after a set or two of squats, the pain eases ALOT, it's just getting through the first few sets that hurt.

Gonna ice it up and see what happens.

Appreciate the replies.
