Knee Wraps

ad

I had a topic on here a while ago about the knee pain I get which limits my squats, since then I've had an x-ray and there's no damage to the joint, could be tendons or something.

I used knee wraps for the first time today and the pain was almost completely gone, I pushed out more weight, cleaner reps etc...

I wore them for a few exercises and they were all more comfortable so my question is, is wearing wraps for the majority of my quad exercises going to take much away from growth/strength?

To be honest though - I think the thing that counts the most is that it eliminates excessive pain so that's all that I should think about I guess.

Cheers for all replies, something to think about I guess.

I have appointments with physio so I'll see how that goes aswell.

I believe most importantly, just like every other supportive aid (belt, suit shirt etc), that your development may not suffer aesthetically but it will suffer structurally. Meaning your quads might not be any smaller but your knee will not be as structurally sound as if you rehabbed your knee and lifted free of wraps. Now if you're going really heavy, relative to you, wraps may become more of a safety aid every once in a while. Hope this helps.
