Opinions?
Good morning all, hope everyone is well. Had a conversation yesterday that I can't get out of my mind, this is a great place for some feedback, so here goes. We hired a new guy at work, for a housekeeping/janitor type position. Now keep in mind, he's a very nice guy so I'm in no way whatsoever bashing him. He's a big dude, arms have to be 20+ inches, giant chest, lats stretching out his shirt. Problem is, sans calipers in my hand or a giant vegetable scale and tub of water to dunk him in (whatever that test is called) guy is reasonably 35% bodyfat, I may be conservative on that number. Ok, I've painted that picture, so moving on the security guard was asking him training questions and their discussion was on supplements. Guy said $200 on stuff like creatine, preworkouts, vanadyl sulfate, protein, stuff I've never even heard of. So in private (he knows what I do) I asked why he's spending $200 a month on all that stuff. Some of which I'm not a fan of, I personally believe preworkouts can be very dangerous if misused, he said "nah man, sometimes it's $200 every 2 weeks". So $400 a month on GNC supplements? I said for that amount of money you could put together a nice, first timer safe cycle. Ancillaries and pct. Guys, you would have thought I set his Bible on fire, or took a dump on his Koran or Torah. (Obviously I don't know his religion but you get the idea of how offended his face looked). So what's your opinions on this kind of thing? Guy in his late 40's or so, dumping what could be $500 a month at the vitamin shop, when a proper diet and testosterone would do the man wonders? I don't understand that mentality, but I've always been pretty liberal when it comes to any drug use, it's the individuals personal decision. As always, best wishes everyone.

You forgot : No homo , at the end.
But besides that. It's his choice. I can't tell and would not judge natty choice if person what's to be like that. Good for you. And i hate when I bring judged for going this path. We all make choices..
Hahah he could be giving you the run around
Not everyone is honest. He probably takes more juice then You— but it’s nobody’s business and he keeps it that way
Molinin302Bro, I've seriously considered that. Aside from the high bodyfat, there's things like those winged out lats, I dunno...
Some guys like to stay natty.
Nothing wrong with that.
Molinin302Oh I agree 100%, without a doubt. But with healthy lab results, for a man in his late 40's early 50's some testosterone treatment be much healthier and more productive than all those unregulated concoctions? That was my main intent of the post, some of that crap I feel, well some is proven to be very dangerous. I like the guy, and we're terribly understaffed as is. I need him to stick around lol.
He sounds bigger than you bro, perhaps you want to be taking a leaf out of his book.
Molinin302Guy is huge, was 100% impressed the first few days, but then he showed up in a form fitting, spandex like shirt instead of baggy. Not a good look. Like I said, he's a really cool guy, I don't want to see him hurt himself...
RustyhookerAre you his daddy? Foo wants to spend on garbage...let him spend on garbage.
Hmmm very interesting, I’m pretty liberal myself so I would have done the same thing.
A lot of it prolly has to do with his view on it being a DRUG, I bet he has seen some negative consequences of drug use in his personal life, or just brought up JUST SAY NO Lol
No, I think you would've asked to see his wewe...
Lmfao!!!!!
So don’t judge
Not judging, just stating the truth!...
I like what I like!!
Molinin302I can't say for sure, but if stereotypical assumptions are true, he may be carrying around a Pringles can down there.
Stop it Mol! You're gonna get him all wet and horny!
Anything and everything offends someone now a days. I just keep to myself and if I have something to say ? I’ve mastered the art of internal dialogue with cunning linguistics.
Gotta keep in mind you asked why he doesn’t just due an illegal substance instead? Why not just trade in the Starbucks for another of Columbia’s finest? It’s much more effective right? Just keep in mind brother very few folks are like us here on the forum.
Molinin302You're 100% correct with all of that. Even though I've been around for a while, I still get thrown. I'll see a woman that's all tatted up, piercings, foul mouthed, I figure she may be loose right? Not a slut, but not uptight right? I've been VERY wrong with that one lol, that's a different story all together. But in relation to the topic, does keeping up with the times mean losing some common sense? It seems that's how it's going these days. People's trains of thought on everything in general is becoming baffling to me. Eroids is almost like a safe place with realistic thinking people.
Hell yeah good story man. I bet he was heated. Love when going into nutrition shops and things don't the way person working thought it would. We have a local place here the guy Steve has been juicing for years he's in this 50's now and looks the same as I remember him almost 2 decades ago. Anyways I was bored waiting on the wife just seeing what they had in stores now so I went there. Ole Steve was there of course you cheap bastard being the owner and only employee. I got on the subject of trt from a doctor and his face lit up like a tomato and was like we sell legal products here not UGL shit here. I was like woah man I was asking if you knew of a good trt doctor as it might be something I look into soon. Needless to say I didn't purchase anything. lol people make me laugh
Molinin302Yeah, talking that way when he's on the jazz himself lol. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely consume supplemental protein, I simply couldn't meet my needs otherwise. Couldn't may be too strong of a word, but it would take unnecessary efforts. Fish oil, tumeric, B6 when needed, milk thistle, I do use supplements. But all these testosterone boosters, fat burners, shit man I recently saw a GH booster lol. The stuff has been around forever, but I'd think by now people would realize it's junk and can actually hurt you bad. If it has the word booster, lightening bolts, and a picture of a 300lb guy that's 7%BF on the packaging, it's at best going to give you the shits. Hold on to your money lol
People's minds get twisted over time as I'm sure your aware. I'm assuming this guy got set in his ways along time ago, that gnc=safe and steriods=taboo(dangerous). In reality, both can be dangerous and safe depending on how they are used. Tbh, hormones used safely with a proper diet, workout routine, and regular bloodwork offer an outstanding quality of health. Probably 95% better than the average overweight American. To each their own I guess????
Molinin302Yeah man, it was a very stern "nooo, nooo, nooo, I can't do that." But his blood is pumping every OTC supplement known to man throughout his body. Some of the things he mentioned I've repally never heard of lol. So a list of 12-15 things, or... testosterone. I mean, like you said, properly used, a good diet, exercise, what beats that? Simple but effective. And he's obviously into being a big guy, but bro, its not saggy everywhere, but he's carrying some bodyfat on him...
