How much fish oil do you guys take daily?
I’m taking 2000mg and am wondering if more would benefit my joints..
I read that 1g a day is sufficient for a bodybuilder/athlete. I think the source of the fish oil is more important than the quantity.
Took fish oil, but didn't see any major benefit. I think it takes time to show benefits. But now I'm using flax oil for my joints.
More? No man, it'll just make them burn faster and make your pad smell like dead fish.
I take 3g of Krill fish oil daily with my last meal of the day. I primarily take it for the cardiovascular health benefits from the cholesterol support.
I take 6000mg a day.
It will help with inflammation assuming your omega 3 to omega 6 ratio is off. Omega 6’s cause inflammation, omega 3’s kill it.
Most people have much higher omega 6’s than omega 3’s, so it’s usually beneficial to try and even then out.
I’ve also read to take as much fish oil you can without getting the runs lol. I’ve never pushed it that far tho.
I’d also like to note that I get ones with more DHA than EPA.
Testosterone lowers DHA so it’s important for us to supplement it. DHA plays the larger role in keeping the heart healthy... blood pressure, raising HDL, etc.
There are even theories that it’s why men suffer from heart disease more than women.
Just something to keep an eye out for. Most cheap fish oil is mostly EPA. Try to at least get a close to even ratio. We need both.
Living4ThePumpLatest Research recommends 1.8g-3g combined EPA/DHA. Most fish oil products contain 180 mg EPA and 120mg DHA per capsule, so you'll Need anywhere from 6-10 capsules so 6-10g fish oil total.
2x3g Omega 3 daily , first serving with my second meal , the other one before I go to bed.
Take a look that the EPA/DHA ratio is good, a lot cheap bunk on the market.
I take Flax Oill not fish oil and take three tablespoons twice a day.
I recommend mixing flax oil with cottage cheese.
Cottage cheese contains amino acids containing sulfur: methionine and cysteine. The sulfur contained in these amino acids helps the fatty acid solubility in water, allowing the body to make greater use of the active ingredients of flax oil.
Ive seen some low carb keto guys say they take 10grams a day...i think the thought is like Inuit peoples and Mediterranean people that have less cardio vascular problems you need alot ...So the best thing would be to eat alot if fatty fish like salmon but if not you could supplement it like your doing my thought is the more the better there are tons of studies how healthy that stuff is i take 3. 1 gram soft gels 3 times a day
