Possible tedon injury - seeking advice
First things first, so we can try and avoid the obvious.
I’m looking for any and all advice outside of go see a doctor, which is not at the present time feasable.
Two weeks ago I went in to do a traps/back workout. I usually go pretty heavy on traps and just do like 4 sets of standing barbell shrugs because my traps just need maintenance compared to other body parts.
Did a fairly heavy warm up set, which went smooth b a was s butter...25 reps like clockwork.
I jump up 180 lb more, bang out guest working set and feel good. Start the second set and get rep 4-5 and hear two pops...
I know I’m done but don’t wanna freak out so I re-rack all the weights and go home..
It didn’t swell, there was no blood pooling but it did and does hurt. Especially when extended and putting stress on the joint at the body side of my elbow.
Supination of the palm is painful at the inner elbow.
I’m looking for advice on healing/caring for the injury and any help is very much appreciated.

Hey man, I'm in not going to diagnose you, but I can tell you a little bit about my injuries. I tore one of my pecks and a biceps.
I tore my peck during flat bench press. First exercise, last rep. I wasn't even lifting that heavy and on the last rep I'm pushing and suddenly one of my arms gave up and the bar hit me on that side. My buddy lifted the bar and I felt the muscle curled up. Went home and put some ice on it. It didn't even hurt, I was just freaking out that I tore my peck. It swell like crazy overnight. Went to the ER the next morning. Spent there the whole day, got x ray and cat scan with contrast done. A few doctors saw me. They said I had a pool of blood from the raptured vessels and they were worried about a kidney failure because of all the protein in my blood. I remembered I was trying to remember if I gad any beats the day before because my urine was redish in the morning. So after all the tests the diagnosed it as a huge bruise caused by bar hitting my chest. They said the muscle was not torn and I could go back to the gym in 3 weeks, once all the blood disappears. And thats what I did. Went back to gym but something wasn't feeling right. When bench pressing I was feeling like something was pulling my arm on the side of the injury. All the way from my worst to the shoulder. But at that time I thought that it still hurts after the accident.
Biceps -About 2 months after the chest injury I felt a little pinch during my bjj workout when trying to escape from a choke. Then when driving home I felt pain and weakness in that arm when steering the car. The next day I had pretty big bruise on my biceps an elbow. By then I knew something was damaged, so I found a sports medicine doctor and he did MRI and x-ray. Full tear of a pec and biceps. Because it was already 3 months after the chest injury, the muscle I lost quit a bit of my pec due to atrophy. Then I was referred to a orthopedic surgeon who operated me. He said it was really difficult to fix the pec because of all the time I waited. He had to really pull the muscle to attach it again. It is functional and I workout but it's nowhere close to a norm. And it looks bad. Long story short, you can leave it, many of my friends did not undergo surgery, but they pretty much stopped lifting weights. So if you love this sport as much as I do and can't imagine life without it, you have to see a doc and time matters in these situation.
Oh and the hook test did not really work on me. The doctors tried it on my torn biceps but they said that it was weir because the tenmdodn must have attached itself somewhere so they could still grab onto in and could not tell by the test if it was torn. The had to doi MRI.
Sorry for the long post. I hoe it helps.
Good luck brother
I don't think anyone online can make an accurate diagnosis. Do the best you can wit hit, and hopefully it will be ok. If not you simply all have to go to a Doc.
I know, I was actually looking for advice on helping the healing/recovery aspect. I watched the video suggested below which also linked to one made by two physical therapists that showed some stretches and a massage technique to increase blood flow to the area and healing as a result.

You’re awesome man.
I’m able to hook it easily, but it’s painful to the touch
Im probably just gonna have to baby the crap out of it for the next month, maybe just a bad sprain?
Could be a partial tear...only thing I would be worried about is it sounds like the bicep retracted a little bit
Hook test
AnonSounds like you may have compensated with your bicep on those heavy shrugs...bicep tear.
It's common during deadlifts and the likes, your bicep is fully extended and while your back tires out, you naturally try to compensate with your biceps.. subconsciously of course...let me guess, it's on your dominant arm too...
Yep
AnonFlex that arm up like your showing off the guns, how does that feel? Can you even do it?
It seems sitting back further, I’m able to flex the bicep but it causes pain in the tendon connection at the elbow and sometimes down the forearm.
