should i stay with trt clinic or self med.

ad

I am now 53 yrs, been on trt since 47yrs. Used to have to see the doc once every month, now i got her down to once every 3 months. but i still have to pay $100 a month. Do blood test three times a year , but most of the time I go there , they just weight me , take my B/P and i talk to the doc to see how things are going. i stop buying from compound pharm to save money. Going every 3 months for weight,b/p and just to talk seem like a waste of time and money. What do you guys think?

Thanks
MRBKK.

If you have insurance and your insurance covers it, go see an endor or urologist. Be honest with them and most likely they will write you an RX for test and hcg. That's what I did. Best decision I ever made. Nowhat my pharmacy grade test costs me $15.

@mrbkk, the lads down below have given solid advice. I'd gladly pay 100 bucks a month to have a doc monitor TRT for me. I've spent over 2k of my own cash for them to tell me they WON'T put me on TRT. (I'm not complaining. They're not jerks. They simply don't live in my body like I do, and they don't understand the very real lethargy I feel.)

You've got a great thing going. Keep it going.

Lastly, it's all about mindset. If you live life like a lamb, you'll be a sheep for this last half of your life.

You are not "the lone wolf in the wilderness." The lone wolf dies. We all need a pack to hunt with, or we die.

You've got people who have your back. Have theirs too. Keep your situation going.

The lethargy is the thing that ruined my life with Low T levels along with depression, I hope you will consider self testing with lowish doses say 250mg/week of Testosterone and see the results, I can only tell you from my personal experience my body was crying out for some testosterone and even the dianabol I took had a pretty much immediate effect ie more energy and early morning erections again,I felt human again, this definately was not a placebo effect. I wish you all the best with your journey to recovery.

@Last Chance 57, I replied to this comment, then got a "captcha" which deleted my comment, so if this is redundant, forgive me.

Thank you for sharing your experience with me (and this community)! You rock. I'm glad that you're getting morning wood again, and that's actually something that's new in my world.

I did my first pin three days ago. 100mg Test Cyp. I'm starting small, getting more bloodwork done, then adjusting from there. I'm patient. However, this morning, I woke up with great morning wood, like I was in my early 20s. It was kind of annoying, but awesome at the same time. The change is already taking place.

PIP is a whore, lemme tell you, but I'm learning. Hygiene is paramount, and I'm confident I'm not endangering myself more than I already am by injecting a foreign substance into my body, even if that substance contains a natural hormone that should improve my life dramatically, assuming I use it and not abuse it.

I'm also doing a master cleanse. Today is day three of ten. Lots of water, mint tea, and a lemonade mixture (lemons, organic maple syrup, cayenne and water). Mostly, I want to rid myself of my holiday bloat. It's bad this year. I might do a three day cleanse every year after Christmas. But this one is my first so I'm going ten days, just to see how my body and mind respond.

So I'm jumping off the deep end. Self administered TRT and cleansing my digestive track (which, it has you hitting the restroom every hour or two, and it works!).

I'll get back to lifting during the second week of January. From there, I plan to crush an old school "slow but steady transformation" for 2016. I'm excited. Nothing radical. Just day in, day out, lifting smart, eating smart, and living life to the fullest while still staying in a mild caloric restriction to drop my body fat. I'll keep you posted.

Again, thank you for the good mojo!

I expect you know this but draw the test with a 21 gauge ( Green) pin then inject with a 25 gauge (orange) to reduce the pain from injection, those greenies hurt after a while.FWIW I respond better to Enanthate than Cypionate so it could be worth experimenting and switching after a couple of months.I'm told most Endo's give you enough to feel normal doseage wise but it again might be worth experimenting a bit with the doseage and find the right level for you. Good Luck

zeusmarada's picture

I will have to take you up on your advice. I got 23s and 25s, so I drew with 23, pinned with 25. I was remarkably surprised at how hard I had to push to get the fluid out of that little bastard.

Regarding dosage, I'm simply going slowly and steadily, using logic and caution. I think the real experiment will be when I get back to lifting. As much as I don't like the idea of needing ANY chemical to get through my daily life (alcohol, caffeine, testosterone, etc) I'm simply over my pride.

I'm gonna drop weight and get lean, slowly and steadily. I've always daydreamed that I could achieve the "lean & ripped" look. I don't care what the scale says, so I've got a real advantage over guys who are vexed with "adding twenty pounds," etc. I just want to be strong enough to do my job, recover well, and rock on, day in and day out. In this respect, low dose TRT is the right way to start, and I'm pretty sure by mid summer of 2016, I'll have a solid dose figured out. Slowly and steadily always wins, and I have to remain patient! I give this advice freely, so I might as well follow this advice too...

At any rate, I really appreciate your encouragement. It means a lot. Cheers @Last Chance57!

" I was remarkably surprised at how hard I had to push to get the fluid out of that little bastard. "

Try using a 1 ml syringes, the smaller barrel increases the fluid pressure without increasing the force required on the plunger.

+1 for this suggestion. Thank you! I'm going slowly and steadily. I appreciate all the help I've gotten here on eroids, so much. Cheers KMC!

POST STATS ASAP

No blood draws?

$400 a year is cheap "insurance" if you will. If you stop will you continue to monitor yourself and get lab work done every 6 months on your own?

What if you start feeling sluggish a year down the road after you stop seeing her. You think it'll be easy to pick up where you left off?

Seems like a good deal to me to continue a relationship with a doctor. Stick with it.

You are under a physician's care. You have a script for testosterone. Its not a waste of time, or money.

Pharma is pharma,.......... UGL is not pharma.

You pay your money,...... and take your chances.

Sounds like you've got a pretty good deal going. Not sure why you're looking to risk it with some mystery UGL test and doing your own bloods and the like. $100 a month is a bargain, so I'm lost with that "problem".
You've got a good thing going, I'd stick with it.

Ask if you can go every 6 months. Having a good endo in your corner is very valuable.. Worst case scenario just reschedule your visits a couple weeks prior.

wanted's picture

I have been on trt for around 7 years
Im not going anywhere that script is gold to me. At the start it was a pain mandotory visits every 3 months. But now every 6 months and im good with that

Last Chance57's picture

I'm not on TRT yet but unless the financial situation is pretty tight I would stay with the endo for the the 3 blood tests a year, just in case anything goes out of normal so you can take steps to correct it before serious damage is done. If things are really tight financialy I would self medicate and pay for one blood test every 6-9 months with some of the money saved.

BigThing's picture

Don't know your full situation, especially financial but $100 a month doesn't seem that much to have a script, pharma test and a doc whenever something is out of ordinary. You can call him instead of asking guys on forums. Buying it of the black market is illegal so I guess you have to weigh in your options. Maybe try talking to your doc that had become an issue financially and if all those visits are neccessary. They are humans after all so he might understand. Hope it helps a little. I don't think anyone can tell you to switch to the dark side, you have to make that decision. Also, keep in mind that when buying it on line, you are risking fake, underdosed or dirty gear. We all hope fir the best, but I believe majority if us had at least one bed experience. Good luck

irongame427's picture

Illegal and a lot of times underdosed. Doctors are humans but a rare breed, they think we're all idiots and don't know shit cause we didn't go to Med school like they did so they dismiss us most the time. Took me 24 years to find a doctor who actually gives a shit and truly cares about me. I been with her 2 years and I'm staying until she retires. True diamond in the rough. These type don't come around much.

Maybe try finding a new doc and explain to them how it was at your old doctor and how costly it was, someone will surely say wow that's rediculous we only will need you to come in X amount of times per year ( less). After all they want to make money and some money from you is better then none.
