Question for my Pops
He's 62 on 1st cycle test e 500mg/wk 4wks in shoulder was hurtin last week went to doc. He just found out yesturday bros torn rotator in rt shoulder, got cortisone shot in it, helped but still hurts. I told him to not work it at all (so did doc)
1st ques. shuld he abandon cycle start pct when needed?
2nd ques. This is very important to me, how can we fix him. He sees surgeon next week, he's had 2 surgeries b4 one on each shouder he's all upset, he said I've been workin my ass off in the gym for 2yrs tryin to build em up they were gettin stronger and now this bullsh*t. I feel for him I really do. So when he gets fixed is there a peptide or possibly hgh that will help him rebuild better, faster, stronger? What can I do to get him better? He was so f'n happy and excited to be on juice you have no idea the ol' man was feelin good, now he's pissed, and I dont want him gettin depressed. I want to be able to go dad as soon as it's over I got you, you'll get what you want.... He saw these pics of this 70somethin yr old all buffed out, and said maybe when I'm 70 huh boy? I went to dinner w/ my mom and him tonight and mom brought up this 70yr old guy bein all buff and you should have seen my dads face... I want to give him somethin to look forward to if anybody can help me out I would be very grateful. Thanx bros

I'd say back off the t a bit, start getting deep tissue massages regularly. Make sure his doc knows he s supplementing and watch BP. Just back off a bit and reevaluate. But deep, tissue massage by an experienced perosn
tread-mBrother "if" this were for me and I say if simply because its a big decision but IMO a necessary one, I would move into full hrt. At 62 hormone is not in proper function as to the axis . So you have to understand at his age, he went from one extreme to the other. When you go from a test level he had into test of that degree, 500 mg's, its this mega high and you feel as though you have strength. That's superhuman. So there is possibly part of the proble. Sometimes we want something back so bad that we may convince ourselves it is back and we push harder than we should.
This is one reason dbol bugs me for even the younger guys, you are able to use more of your strength than intended and more injuries come from these type compounds than just general gear. Think about the stories of people doing superhuman things such as lift the front of a car off of someone when the jack failed. That's adrenaline in large quantity allowing you to use all your strength as opposed to the amount of strength we are intended to use. Dbol is sort of doing the same thing so you are much more injury prone.
So this is sort of what happens often in an older person when introduced to gear. No, its not dbol but it is closer to the equivalent for someone his age when compared to the 25 yr old running dbol. He is using more muscle as it kicks then he is really supposed to and did not have the necessary time to solidify muscle that was not in its peak for a long time. So maybe one says "well he's been working out his whole life though". That does not matter when you figure what testosterone does. Test allows you to use the protein put in your body and after all of the complicated conversions improve muscle and muscle mass. Explains why the 25 yr old is much less prone to injury and has much healthier muscle. As you age and have far less test in your body the protein, even in high volume, can't do its job fully and muscle gets weaker and weaker over time.
So here's what I do and this is my opinion only so talk around about it and if you feel comfortable in his doc talk to him and or consult a trt doc or an endo as well. I personally back the test off now to about 150 a week. I would also if in his shoes begin hgh therapy at 2 iu's a day depending on strengh of product. If he could get Eli for example from trt doc then I may go 1.5. Whatever the case this is full hrt over trt. Now he is supplying both needs of the axis and IMO much better ability to heal. The trt IMO would begin today.
Ok so now let's say weeks have passed, dad ordered his hgh and he is and has been on hrt for some time now. Doc at some point gives him the green light to get back into the gym nice and slow. From here I do what he should have possibly done to begin with. Stay on hrt, no cycles for some time here. He works out but its never any max stuff, ever. He works wih medium weight being relative and just works and solidifies those muscles. Nice and slow because there is no reason to end up back here. His bench max and show off days are over! Lol..just nice and slow and steady and be the turtle here. He can get himself very healthy and looking like that 70 yr old doc that's all over the net over a couple yrs. No reason to push to hard here, the slow progress is progress and that's what he wants, turn that clock back for a while and let father time fall behind in the chase.
So now you begin to talk cycle levels maybe a year and a half or 2 yrs down the road. Maybe drove the hrt just a tad higher and by using our bloods as a roadmap Dad is sitting around 800 for a good half yr and by about the 2 yr mark his muscles have taken on a little size, they are harder etc and he feels he can do a cycle now. That's great but remember, these are not 25 yr old muscles so work smart in the gym, don't let the hot little 30 yr old with a daddy complex that's been eyeballin you get you out of focus. . She wants him without the extra plate on the bar so think, don't react to the inner caveman that wants to showoff.
I know much of this is not what you came here about but I'm thinking for now and later so this does not become a pattern because I've seen those patterns and they make people give up. Any questions let me know and again, I might run this by your endo so the bloods can be followed but right now the heal is most important trying not to slip back farther then later we rebuild the body nice and SLOW. To me its satisfy both needs of the axis though and you improve the chances of some clock reversal. Hope it all works out for him, I hate that he is so pumped up about this and has this much of a setback so just help keep his mind in the right place through motivation which I know you'll do.
tread you have given me somethin I couldnt find for myself thank you sooo much. Today he came over to my house just to hang, we ended up workin in the yard all day and just talking. He doesnt talk a whole lot about how he feels, he's more of the type that just makes jokes kinda like his boy ME! but no joke I actually told him today from what I've found he's got two options. 1 knock it down to I said around 100 like trt or full abandon. he said well 100 a week wont do shit will it. I say idk you can try it that's what docs prescribe. He jus makes a face. Then He opened up about how he's been tryin to improve himself and says it's not the sex drive thing I'm lookin for hell I bang ur mom at least 3x a week and would hit more if she'd let me. I just looked at him this time. Thanks for everything tread u da apeman coocoocachoo. Again I think you have given me somethin that will put a smile on his face when I see him at the gym in the morning.
That damn rotator cuff AGAIN.
I seem to be seeing more and more postings about individuals blowing them out than I ever did before I blew BOTH of mine out 2 years ago.
I TRULY feel for your Dad.
FOR ME: The cortisone injections did absolutely NOTHING. It just seemed to aggravate the injury that little bit more by the doctor injecting the fluid into the deltoid area. Because of the rotator cuffs inflammation, immediate surgery was not an option, so I had 3 cortisone injections in my left shoulder when I first blew it and 2 in my right and, FOR ME, they did nothing except provide me with more pain and the need to take stronger pain killers. I'm sorry, but I personally would NOT recommend ANYONE have cortisone injections for rotator cuff injuries. You're in enough pain as it is with the rotator cuff issue.
I had to wait 6 weeks for the surgery to reattach the left cuff because of the said inflammation. 7 months later, and STILL in recovery from the left cuff I go and blow the right cuff. AGAIN, I had to wait 7 weeks for the reattachment surgery. In total it took me over 14 months to recover from the both injuries. (At one stage of recovery, because you're unable to move your arm behind your back, it got so bad I couldn't even wipe my own butt. THAT'S how bad rotator cuff injuries are).
Fingers crossed, your dads surgeon will be able to get him fixed a.s.a.p and back on the road to recovery too.
I know I'm not giving you any advice as to giving your dad something to look forward to, but what I am TRYING to tell you is, when your dad winces with the pain, or you catch him out of the corner of your eye rubbing his shoulder or trying to shake the pain out, HE IS IN REAL PAIN. Rotator cuff injuries suck, Mate. They suck REALLY bad. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.
My very best regards to your dad.
thanx for the insight mate I appreciate all the advice I can possibly give him. I do see him make the ouch face and he just grabs his shoulder and looks away for a few secs. I say you alright pops he just says yes give me min. He's not only a tough man, but I'm afraid I got my stubbornness from him as well. Let me tell ya mate If he has told me time and time again "boy you are thicker in the head than a hog is through the ass" he's funny too! Thanx for your concern I'll post what he finds out at doc on thurs.
HGH would do wonders for him bro, and take it easy at that age on the weights.. form>weight motto
