+ 3 6 months to Live?

ad

This is going to be a long first post, I’m writing it in the hope someone will benefit and realise theres hope at an older age. I’m 57 years old and six months ago couldn’t walk more than a hundred yards, was 22 stone with a 57” belly and to make things worse needed Testosterone replacement therapy but was undiagnosed, basically I had lost the will to live, had no Libido, tired all the time.
It was on the above walk that I had enough and basically had 2 choices, either top myself or fight back,I chose the latter.
I started dieting, not a lot just cutting back a bit and walking for exercise, very short walks initially but all I could manage,I had been given a PDF book called the slight edge by Jeff Olson, turning simple disciplines into massive success,it was inspirational not just in my health but all other areas as well and would recommend it to you all.
Anyway six weeks ago now I was down to about 20 stone and was able to begin harder exercise, not the gym yet but pushups on the stairs as I wasn’t strong enough and my belly was in the way for flat pushups, and body weight squats and side laterals with dumbbells and alternate dumbbell curls, light weight but bringing back muscle tone slowly. And of course increasing the distance walked every week as well as tightening up the diet again.
4 weeks ago I joined my local gym. Incidently I knew what I was doing with diet and exercise as I was a gym owner in north London in the 1980’s and had used steroids at that time.I bought a Weider supplement for meal replacement Anabolic Evolution and began a split routine total body over two days one day cardio only and repeat.Started light and 2 sets per exercise rep range 8-12 and a very tight diet one meal in the morning typically chicken and boiled rice or fish and rice and the milkshake for the remainder of the day total calories usually about a 1000.I also walked for between 40 minutes and an hour and a half.
It is extreme but working well,I am down to 15 stone 7 pounds now,I am using some old dianabol 5mg tablets, the expiry date was 2008 but they still seem to be doing something.I started when I joined the gym,2 tabs per day one morning one in the evening and have slowly increased the doseage each week to 40mg a day now.
My strength is 50-100% better,my fitness is at least 800% higher and the steroids and weight loss have returned my Libido and with the help of spedra (Viagra like drug) I can function sexually again,I’m no longer so damn tired and my joy of life has returned.
Still a long way to go but my muscularity is much better and I have an appointment with the doctor for hopefully TRT.Thats all for now but I will let you know how I get on at the doctors and my continued return to fitness.Any comments or helpful advice appreciated, thanks for reading.

PCT
3rd day completely off the gear, I've decided after being told what the magnifying glass top left corner is for and checking out clenbuterol and T3 to stay off them unless my bloods show I need T3.
Just taking a strong multi vitamin/mineral tab, anti prostate tab and meal replacement milkshake, still on the diet one meal a day.
1st day off I felt drained as I tapered off a bit quickly but much better and energyu returned now, not feeling quite so strong but keeping the poundages as high as possible. I'm not dropping any sets so far as the workout was not excessive anyway.
Referral to an endocrinologist mid december and I've asked for a copy of my blood test so will post here as many of you guys understand this better than myself.
I would just like to thank everyone who contributes on here its been very educational and is an invaluable aid to those thinking of using steroids.

OK so I’m off the juice a bit earlier than expected for blood tests for HRT.
What I actually took was
Week 1 5mg Dianabol 2 (2 means twice a day 10mg total)
Week 2 5mg Dianabo l*3
Week 3 10mg Dbol in morning and 5mg Dbol *2
Week 4 20mg Dbol in morning 15mg Dbol 2pm and 10mg dbol 8-9pm
Week 5 add 1times 25mg Proviron morning and 1times 40mg Andriol morning and 2pm
Week 6 add another proviron in the evening
Blood test next week for HRT so Friday night last Dbol, continue Andriol and proviron till saterday night then off for bloods Monday.

PCT
Never bothered with anything but tapering off before but this time will use clenbuterol 1 tab twice daily for a couple of weeks then may increase doseage slightly for another 2 weeks. Not having any aromitisation problems after such a short cycle so no Nolvadex or anything else.
As always love your opinions and helpful comments

Brother, before you start with Clenbuterol, do some research. It's not overly popular outside of bodybuilding circles. Unless you're body building, you might want to look around and try something different. Plus, remember that orals are liver toxic, so be sure you're using supplements that can help with liver function, as well as simply taking time off from orals all together. Your doses are far lower than most people, but still, you're playing with fire. Don't get burned! Go in with both eyes wide open. That magnifying glass up in the top left is very helpful. Use it and learn!

Very helpful thanks zuesmarada, I've used clens before although a good many years ago.
A few notes on my steroid cycle
First time I've tried proviron and Andriol, the proviron definately increased my hornyness and feel good factor although 25mg/day was a bit low and feel 50-75mg is a more effective doseage (for me as everyones sensitivity to drugs is differant).
The Andriol at what is considered a low doseage of 2 tablets a day 8am and 2pm definately added strength to the mix, I was only on them for a couple of weeks but noticably stronger on a very strict diet.
I've tapered off a bit quicker than I normally would for blood tests on monday, not taking anything other than normal food supplements, I do feel a bit drained and will back off a bit on the poundages and sets during PCT but will keep up the cardio work for fitness and to burn calories.
Andriol is hard to get in the UK but I was impressed with it, so if anyone knows a good uk based supplier please PM me.

Visit to the Doctors
I spoke to a mature male Doctor in his early 60’s. I started by saying I hardly ever came to the surgery and the fact that I was sitting here indicated how desperate I was for some help, I outlined my symptoms 4 months ago (low libido, unable to get an erection, extreme tiredness and depression) and how I felt now after self medicating for 5 weeks and just under 5 stone weight loss in 4 months.

He listened and was to be fair helpful, although he would not issue a prescription for testosterone at this stage he wanted blood tests done first and referred me to an endocrinologist. As I’m only on tablets and for a short period the blood test is postponed until next week whilst I come off the steroids and will be clean for 48 hours before the blood test.

After reading the experiences of many on here I was pleasantly surprised by his attitude, I was not at all pushy and thanked him for his help. First hurdle cleared then.

Just thought I'd add a bit on my training and diet.
I am using 8-12 reps increasing the weight when I get to 12 and 2-4 sets per bodypart.Cardio for 15 mininutes at the end with a final max sprint the last minute and a half.
My strength is increasing but from a very low base.
Split routine 2 days weights one cardioChest, back and shoulders and waist. Then 15 mins cardio
and Legs, arms and waist and 15 mins cardio
3rd day 30 mins cardio
Plus 40 minute brisk walk each day.
This tied to a tight diet around 1000 calories a day.
Typical day is chicken and bopiled rice for breakfast then protein meal replacement shake, currently using weider anabolic 36% protein but its even higher in carbs than protein so swithching to Definition nutrition lean protein mass.Maybe a pint and a bit of the shake during the day and if necessary a soup in the evening 1 slice dried bread.
I do substitute fish for the chicken for variety.
The results have been very good lost 3 stone in six weeks and I would say put on a bit of muscle as well.
My poundages would make most of you laugh but given my sedentry lifestyle for 12 years I'm happy to be improving at all with such a tight diet.

listen brother ... I understand what you are going through ... But I would advise against taking Dbol for an indefinite period of time.

Yes it will make you mentally feel better, it will improve strength, increase protein synthesis, and enhance body composition but it has draw backs.

Increased estradiol / aromatise being one ... Proviron alone will not be enough to stop this.

Your lipids will be trashed and your red blood cells, hematocrit and hemoglobin will continue to rise, not to mention the strain it will put on your liver.

Given your age, and health history this can be a receipe for disaster especially if you have high blood pressure.

Please monitor Bp, your blood work, and take a baby aspirin if safe to do so.

Also really consider a better approach for the long run. Because shortly after you come off Dbol you will feel worse then you did before.

Good luck and health to you.

^Thanks Killroy but I'm only doing a 12 week cycle then at least 4 weeks off, taper off of course.I've never had problems with high adrogens although it was several years ago and my blood pressures fine.I will get some nolvadex and HCG but only use them if I feel its necessary.
With short cycles the depression isn't that bad when I come off and I am as said attempting to get TRT from my GP..I very much appreciate your help and concern though and will be careful.

To add to what Killroy is teaching, beware that dbol (as you probably know) is long term liver toxic. Everyone who uses dbol advises short durations (four to six weeks, maximum) along with NO ALCOHOL or other substances that are hard on the liver (like some over the counter pain medications, etc).

You're using a powerful drug! You seem very intelligent, so I assume you're not simply jumping in with your eyes closed. However, as you are reclaiming your health, it's easy to start making foolish decisions based on emotions as opposed to using your logic. Logically, you know that dbol is liver toxic, so be advised.

Other than that, your story is a great addition to the amazing body of knowledge here on eroids. IT ALL STARTS WITH FOOD AND EXERCISE!!!

No amount of drugs can replace good diet and smart exercise.

@lastchance 57, you are not alone. Keep going, and when you get back into lifting, go slowly and steadily. No one here cares if you ever bench 20 stones or run a marathon in record time. Slow and steady, brother, slow and steady. Just get your health back by doing one rep at a time. That's all that matters! Keep kicking ass, brother! -Zeus

Hi zuesmarada,
Thanks for your comments and warnings, I totaly agree that steroids are a small part of what is necessary, diet, exercise must be done correctly. I have to be fair jumped in a bit hard but the results have been worth it although I hurt everywhere for weeks. I am looking for long term HRT and will see my GP thursday, frankly from the various comments on here it seems I may experience some problems convincing him but can always go the private route if necessary.
I am tweaking my diet and exercise so I can recover better as the low calories meant I am no longer recovering on a 2 day split and one cardio day, so thats changed to a 3 day split and one cardio and will monitor how I feel.
I have to say i haven't felt so good in years and regret not keeping up with the exercise for so many years, but I am where I am and making far quicker progress than I had imagined possible.
Thanks everyone for the support.

@Lastchance57, brother, you are an inspiration. Life is all about LIVING. It sounds like you made the conscious choice to LIVE rather than to simply EXIST. Sadly, too many people in western cultures think that "vanity is bad" or "people who lift weights are selfish." As a result, the emphasis to "be fit" gets replaced by "feel good" (with food, drink, entertainment, etc).

People who are strong have more strength to give. Same as wealth. The more money you have, the better you're in a place to help those in need.

I can't remember who said this, and I'm too lazy to google it as I type this comment, but I love the saying:

"The first half of your life is to discover your gift. The last half is to give it away."

Brother, as you improve in health, it'll be your turn to pay it forward to your own brothers and sisters who need to change their lives. Eat well, GET ENOUGH SLEEP TO RECOVER, and keep kicking ass with your workouts. You're old enough to know what a year is. 365 days from now, you'll look and feel completely different from the guy you're looking at in the mirror today. You're a fucking inspiration!!!

Thankyou my friend, your words help give me the strength to tough it out. I set shorter term goals than one year but it will take some time to get in condition again, but I'm working at it Smile

Cheers Rusty,
I've added Proviron as an estrogen blocker and general well being aid, also I'm still carrying too much fat on the lower belly so I saw mentioned here Capsilex and HTP 5 so added this to help strip off the final couple of stone.
Really enjoying the training again although my goal is differant than when I was younger, more muscle tone and condition than size and strength.
