Let the kids train whatever sport they want, even combat sports, but don't let them wrestle in front of an audience, for adults to have fun. At this age, its perverted. Don't get me wrong, I support kids playing, fighting over the girls they like and so on, its called childhood and its beautifull. I just don't support the idea of doing it for the entertainment of an paying audience.
I started golden gloves at 12 but wasn’t fighting till 14 I do think 9 is a bit young but hey kids play hockey and football and beat slam each other and wrestle….don’t be such a Nazi lol
I don’t see the difference between this and competing in boxing as kids. I boxed for years and the kids spar and they’re watching them like hawks as to prevent any injuries. What’s getting me is that boxing is turning into a circus. Gone are the glory days of the best fighting the best to “we have to keep that undefeated record!”
A friendly comp between you and your buddies along with a ref that understands the circumstances I could go along with but this smacks of cruelty. I don't know the kids or their demeanor's though so who the fuck knows really? It seems fucked up to advertise it though.
