The First supplement ever that contained a steroid

ad

Back in the good ole days when steroids were hard to come by there was a big surge in the supplement industry claiming that certain over the counter supplements were equal or even better than anabolic steroids...lol yes that was correct! Yeah right, but as youngsters somehow we all believed this nonsense. Anyways to the point, a guy in the supplement industry had a family owned supplement company got the idea of using all of the "popular" supplements of that time, such as smilax, ginseng, glandulars, mahuang and a host of other herbs and vitamins and he decided to combine all into a protein powder formula that was to be taken pre-workout. This legendary supplement was then called Hot Stuff. It finally seemed that we had our answer to steroids but the only problem was it supposedly contained small amounts of oral steroids. Long story short this popular supplement was taken off market because of the rumors only to be replaced by a much weaker version. Nothing was ever proven but the supplement magazines continued the rumors and gossip. Just thought I'd share this serious forgotten supplement controversy. This supplement was arguably the most popular ever and that's known. If you know then you know.

I remember like 2005 or so, TrenExtreme and MassXteme by American cellular labs...good shit. They had a variety from fat burners to anti estrogens all were legit. They were later sued or whatever and had to go to court and lost lotta dough.

O yeah they went hard. Tren Xtreme was definitely hyped up and a hard hitter. That time was rediculous

I would’ve guessed Gaspari products which were out of this world.

Halodrol and Novadex OG formulations were legit. Even superpump250 the first release were something. I remember those very well.

I probably would say original halo was stronger than Hot stuff. The 2 biggest supplement controversies involving supplements that contained steroids ever. Now Holo was in the prohormone era but Hot stuff caught everyone by surprise because it was in the so called "steroid free era"

You know what...Gaspari supplement might arguably be up their too. It's just Hot Stuff was the first to get that full attention across the supplement industry. Both "supplements" made some noise.

Damn man, how old do you think I am?
Hot stuff is the OG, iirc it was an actual steroid mixed with something like ephedra, I never tried it, my buddies always told me it tasted like shit and you know me when it comes to bad tastes.
I'm more from the 1-Androsterone era, even got to talk with Patrick Arnold about it back in the day before he got popped for THG. The guy was a pioneer.

Lol nah man I know you aren't old but you're old enough like myself. Yea man Hot Stuff was Legendary. Every protein scoop was spiked for sure. I tried it 2 times only cause I couldn't afford it but it hit harder than Mike Tyson's punch! Made your get up get up and GO!
It taste like trash and yes you could taste those herbs but an hour later it was hitting. They stopped making it and came out with a weak version, that's when I used it a little more. I was too late though. And about Patrick Arnold..lol basically the father of all prohormones! Dude was definitely a pioneer and a Legend.
