Sex is very important, arguably the most important part of a relationship. Thru sex we connect on a higher level. It may not need to be super frequent but it should be from the soul. I know my wife can tell if I am not giving it my all and I can tell that she can tell because she won't finish if I am not projecting that energy into her.
Is great sex possible without an emotional attachment? I honestly do not know, I have never had great sex without an emotional attachment.
I would not stay in a relationship that I was not sexually fulfilled. The only exception being if my wife was somehow medically unable to perform. Then it is a moral issue. Hopefully I never need find out.
Just how important is sex in the integrity and sustainability of a relationship? As I said above, it is the most important projection of the energy of our relationship and frankly I believe it held us together thru the rough patches.

Mike1982It all depends on the mentality of the person I believe. I need a romantic connection because im not the type of person to just have sex with someone, especially if i dont like her. You could be the most beautiful or sexy or cute woman in the world, but if your attitude sucks or you're stuck up or just unlikeable in.my eyes then you're ugly to me and I dont want to touch you. Yet I know men who just need a heartbeat and a hole. Romance is a must to me and i need to have a connection to that person to be able to take it to that. It's definitely a must to have great sex and a romantic connection in my relationship. But with that connection comes great sex in most cases. If you have that connection then the sex in most cases will present itself as great unless there just isn't any oil in those hips lol. That connection usually lends itself to a pacification of certain expectations that would otherwise be present if the connection or relationship wasn't there. Your post is not out of left field it actually has soke merit. Just because someone will fuck any hole that shows interest doesn't mean you don't have a point. So before I get off track those are my thoughts.
Well personally my beliefs are in alignment with yours...the best, hottest sex i've had was with the men i've loved i tried the sex for sex thing and it was awful, felt like nothing in fact it didn't even end in any kind of pleasure for me...

Mike1982That's a really hard one to answer for me because I've only been in two relationships. One for ten years and my present one. Before that I was a little ehhhhh picky I guess you could say. I've always found something wrong with someone after about a week and just broke off from there. And not necessarily wrong its just that I guess I've always looked for "everything" in a sense before ever committing to a relationship. So to answer that question...I honestly don't know. The only two women I have been in a relationship never lacked in that department. I'm now with the first girl I kissed when I was 7 years old and after I kissed her in the elementary school courtyard I went running like a chunky girl on Maury povich after she found out the tenth guy tested still isn't the daddy. She will be and has always been the girl I should've been with and she will be the woman I die with.
