Metal and Rock Fans

ad

Do we have any old school fans here?
I think the last new bands that I've liked are Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters...after them haven't found anything that's been worth listening.
I'm open to suggestions so let them come.
Most of the time I'm still stuck with the great bands of 70's & 80's,

UFO is one of my favorites! Check out "Strangers in the Night" live album if you haven't already.
Michael Schenker is rippin on that one! \m/

He really is an amazing guitar player and they are an amazing band. I love Strangers in the Night. That is the album I have been listening to the most. I think I played "Shoot Shoot" three times today while I was dead lifting lol

stl's picture

I listen to most everything but if you like the 80's some of the newer sleaze bands are great.
Like Crashdiet- Generation wild album

Not so new, but similar in music style. Steel Panther, love this band: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHK1gC6_9kQ

Yes a few years old, new singer on this album though I didn't care for the old one. There are many other similar bands also. Steel Panther has some good songs but more of a parody band, I like big boobs but that was before they where steel panther.

Pale's picture

They are not a "parody" band. They have 3+ albums of their own shit. And it is damn good. See them live if you get a chance.

Pale's picture

If you get a chance to see them live do it.

I only heard a few tracks. I will say it has its moments but nothing has grabbed me

Pale's picture

Dave should just STFU. Every time he speaks I dislike him more.

tonytulo's picture

Jesus how do you really feel lmfao

tonytulo's picture

I thought it was alright. Some decent riffs etc etc nothing spectacular.

First Heavy metal album ever, this is where it started. Today 46 years ago, feb 13 th 1970.

I am a big fan of the first two albums, the last one sucks imo. They are a great live band as well.

ballsack's picture

Hmmm...first album is definitely their best but I kinda like this new one also, not as bad as it sounded at first

Pale's picture

And truth is I never have given it a chance to grow on me either. Just one listen was it. I have heard that cradle to grave song several times and hate it.

stl's picture

"Most of the time I'm still stuck with the great bands of 70's & 80's,"

Can't beat that

true grit's picture

Wtf? That sucks. (I must live under a rock)

vhman's picture

I read that only close family and friends knew he had cancer.

tonytulo's picture

That video was far out.

Pale's picture

Yea, he was great in that film. That dude was like a living breathing musical/art masterpiece. We can all be thankful we were alive when he was.

vhman's picture

X2. I'm actually a little sad about this one.

ballsack's picture

X3 , What a musical genius he was. So sad..I really liked his Tin Machine project, but ofcourse his early years were magical.. even his Let's Dance album was good though when it came out I wasn't into that kinda music but damn it had couple of master pieces.

Pale's picture

A great documentary on Motorhead

:(...Lemmy..one of the greatest ever. I'm a bass player and always felt he's playing was as close as possible how i wanted to sound. Legend is truly an understatement describing this man....

cdyrdes's picture

Rip lemmy kilmister, one of the best front front men to ever get on stage and not give a fuck who liked it or not! Definitely lost a rock icon today the man and motor head was one of the most influential groups to ever play.

Pale's picture

Damn guys. We lost Lemmy today.... Rock and roll just lost an icon....:(

cdyrdes's picture

Was just about to make a thread about this but came here 1st.

Pale's picture

I feel like I am on tren, crushed about losing a rock icon I never even met. He was the real deal tho and we all knew it from the moment he hit the stage. There will never be another that can fill his shoes, never...

jansen's picture

Just picked up the new slayer album last night. I was so excited i didn't realize i bought the edited version instead of the explicit version. Fml!

treadgold's picture

Check out this band from canada called Threat Signal. Pretty good music
