Metal and Rock Fans

ad

Do we have any old school fans here?
I think the last new bands that I've liked are Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters...after them haven't found anything that's been worth listening.
I'm open to suggestions so let them come.
Most of the time I'm still stuck with the great bands of 70's & 80's,

Yeah I remember it used to come on late at night

i20bpm's picture

Not that I have seen but then again I'm like a old fuck now that only works, spends time with the kiddo and workout so it could just be me in my bubble

giardap's picture

Brilliant!

Ah man, I can only imagine what those lads would get up to on the road, they are hilarious!
I can't believe I've only become aware of them in the past month or two

Amazing stuff!

Badass! They put on quite the act, especially that 1 million volts of electricity shit. Holy fuck! I bet it would have been amazing to go on tour with them.

Not metal, but Roger Waters new album is pretty good.

Christophany's picture

Waters is a talented musician. For being an old geezer he still rocks out, and he doesn't use autotune like twits half his age.

For the record, I am a Floyd fan and therefore biased. lol

What impresses me is he is still able to channel anger into music at over 70 years old like he did in his 20's. That is rare.

Christophany's picture

That is an incredible thing for his age.

What an emotional roller coaster this episode with Chris is. Why? Why in the fuck we he take the cowards road? He had three children and a wife who loved him...

Drop-set's picture

Drugs take you nowhere....all the grunge guys are gone now except Eddie Vedder.

Christophany's picture

It sounds like he had clinical depression. The last song he performed was Slaves and Bulldozers, which is kind of eerie to think about, not to mention his bandmates said he was more or less in jovial spirits -- an indication someone is suicidal, counterintuitively. Either way, the world has lost one of the greatest rock musicians of the 20th & 21st centuries. But I can't imagine how his kids must be taking the event, it's hard to think about.

It's fucking nuts. He was definitely a talented vocalist. You'd think he had it all from this side of the fence.
The last time I saw him perform, he was definitely trashed. He sounded great, he just wasn't standing and walking real well.

Pale's picture

Maybe he had something really bad happening, terminally sick, drugs again? I don't know...

treadgold's picture

He was on atrivan..anti depressant, some anti depressants can cause you to become even more suicidal. Kinda defeats the purpose of them. I have been on various anti depressants, and have felt the same symptoms. It is a matter of getting them dialed in with your body. Finding out which combinations..doses..etc..work well together.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

I thought the past couple years his body started to deteriorate. Looked to me like some health issue. Not so much like a strung out look, he looked like walking cancer. It's still hard to rule drugs out though given the rockstar lifestyle.

Pale's picture

I agree with you.

giardap's picture

Only recently realised Suicidal Tendencies were still pushing out tunes
Their last album is great:

Definitely sounds like suicidal. Mikes voice sounds like he's getting tired though....

giardap's picture

Brilliant! Love it!
Just listened to a couple of their tracks. Anti-fascists too?!!! That's unexpected coming from Russia!!!
