Do we have any old school fans here?
I think the last new bands that I've liked are Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters...after them haven't found anything that's been worth listening.
I'm open to suggestions so let them come.
Most of the time I'm still stuck with the great bands of 70's & 80's,

I saw Ozzy in a "farewell" tour 23 yrs ago. Then he came back around the next year. I'll believe it when I see it, lol.
Yeah..last one was also their farewell tour. ..Hahaha. This time though it very well might be since Tony said he just can't go through touring anymore, he's cleared from cancer but we know it just might come back anytime and their around 70 year's old all ready.
Clutch bad ass group, been touring the world from stadiums to small night clubs that hold 500 to 50k, kick ass music to train to also! Look up on utube clutch binge n purge, song so aggressive they can't play it at their shows causes a riot lol so in the gym puts u n beast mode almost instantly lol
X2. Good stuff
TryHarder007I'm younger lol so yes I love my rap! But rock wise? I grew up with HEAVY music parents. Mostly rock and some classical and world music (shit like the gladiator soundtrack) but for me? I love grunge! Stone temple, sublime, pearl jam, of course Kurt C and his group, dinosaur JR, etc. I grew up in the NW!
RustyhookerTry this on.

StevebIt sounds like one of those shitty Orange County "metal" bands.
RustyhookerHa haa
Tools going to be touring the States in 2016
Love the band, saw them live and they were terrible. Top 5 shittiest concerts I've seen in terms of sound quality and performance.
I have seen them seven times in the last 20+ years and every show was near perfect as far as musicianship. Now that is not to say they haven't had "off" nights, that happens to the best of us but overall they normally put on very high level shows.
The only excuse I can come up for them was that it was a cold rainy shitty September night or maybe they got to intoxicated. I'd say it was aboit 8 years ago.
There are definitely a few you tube examples of them slipping up, lol
RustyhookerTool is amazing
StevebI tried to buy tickets for San Diego but they sold out on ticketmaster. Now they're on Stub hub for more than double what they were on ticketmaster. Primus is opening for them.
"System of a down" is actually my favourite metal band. But i still love older albums of motörhead, metallica, slayer, megadeath, paradise lost, tiamat, morbid angel, obituary, kreator...
Last times I can't find any good metal band ... But recently I find Gojira - band from France - the're fucking amazing , if you like to listen Death (band) , you probably will like them
StevebScott Weiland is dead
Just saw that. Surprised it didn't happen years earlier. Just a waste.
Today is a slayer , megadeath and Metallica type of day.
X2 slayer seasons in the abyss! Deff on my list at gym "skeletons of society"
StevebThat's a good album.
They always play "war ensemble" on tour.

Ace VenturaThat bad, huh?
StevebDon't you like Soulfly?
Ace VenturaYes, they're very dope
StevebThey're horrible, nothing like Sepultura or Nialbomb. And when they rap they're even worse.
Ace VenturaFalse. Try again
...sepultura after Max?
StevebThe black singer has been gone for a while. Max has been their singer again for a few albums now. Sepultura was not god with the black dude singing.
Metallica first 3 albums were good. Everything else was bad and got worse. Megadeath has 1 good album. Slayer's album Divine Intervention is great and so is every album before it. After that album they went down hill. Slayer started to suck in 98.
Death Magnetic was pretty decent. Slayers new album Repentless is actually pretty good as well. Give it a listen.
RustyhookerRepentless.....definitely!
StevebSlayer's new stuff sounds monotone to me. I really dislike Metallica a lot. Have you heard of Carnivore?
I have not given them a serious listen, I will have to check them out.
Ace VenturaThat second paragraph is complete hogwash.
StevebHow so? And fuck you you like Soulfly.
ArmedThey produced a few good tracks post Seasons in the Abyss, like Catayst, Unit 731, Hate Worldwide. I thought Divine Intervention sucked.
Ace VenturaCause fuck Metallica and Slayer. Soulfly is super dope, especially the Primitive album. That one had the most rapping.
Damn ace, i have an extra ticket for metallica at at@t park..nite before the superbowl. I was hoping u wr in the area.
I have to puke now.
Ace VenturaLol
StevebYou like that rock/rap crap?
Ace VenturaI did back when that album was out. Shit, I liked Limp Bizkit. ...I mostly just said that for you.
Lmao
Most of it sucks but I do dig Rage against the Machine, Body Count and some Beastie boys.
Gojira explosia is a fucking song you want pounding through your cranium when you need to reach down and move some heavy artillery!
Ace VenturaHell yeah, Bodycount! I listen to Ice T's podcast. That mofo did a remake of Institutionalized. I had the tape with Cop Killer on it before he pulled it off the album.
Institutionalized....nice, gonna have to dig that up and download it. Thanks Ace
Everyday is one of those days!
So at the COC show they had three opening bands which for the record is just too much. That said the very first band was a Texas band by the name of Mothership. Just a three piece but I can tell you we were thoroughly impressed. They rocked so hard that they wrecked it for the other two bands. I spoke with the guitar player after the show, I think they may have something.
RustyhookerCorrosion is awesome. Cromags...good dudes. I keep missing cromags last few shows as security.
I used to think that I got more for my $ whenever they would shove a bunch of openers in, but now I realize that it's just another "more is better" gimmick. Most of the time the sets are too short and very rushed, and especially if it's a band that I want to see, the performances are usually disappointing. I have been to a few shows though, where I saw a band that I've never heard of, and they stole the whole show, making the headliners look ridiculous. The first time I ever saw Cradle of Filth it was like that. I couldn't understand one friggin word, lol, but it was one of the best live performances I have ever seen to date.
