I'm wondering if anyone knows where to find this product and would be willing to PM me the information. It's a glycosaminoglycan polysulfate that works similarly to cortisone except it's incredibly more effective and doesn't kill the tissue it's injected into. It's made by Luitpold Werk, in Munich, West Germany. They make a version for dogs and horses known as adequan and it's exactly the same so either would work. It's administered IM or intra-articular (doctor only!). It reduces pain and inflammation in joints and tendons and speeds the healing process. It stimulates production of proteoglycan synthesis and helps promote production of synovial fluid. It also blocks enzymes that break down cartilage and promotes the repair tissue. It's used extensively in Europe instead of cortisone. Cortisone injections have a recurrence rate of 80%+, Arteparon is directly inverse to that with an 80%+ success rate. I know it works and it's truly amazing. A few months ago my 12 year old golden retriever was coming up the porch step and his knee buckled like a non contact football injury, I knew it right away ACL injury:( I immediately took him to the vet and it was confirmed, partial ACL tear. Surgery at his age was most likely a death sentence. He could gimp around still so the vet recommended adequan. Literally days within getting the shot he was running around like a puppy again and trying to jump happy as can be. Now he gets maintenance doses every three weeks and you would never know he had an ACL injury.
