BEGGARS AND PANHANDLERS
If you live in a large city, you no-doubt have seen people hanging around bus stops and businesses asking for money. There have always been beggars and panhandlers, and they have always known that if you can swallow a lot of pride (and a little cum), you can knock down an easy 70K per year----better than most college grads fresh out of school.
But lately, this trend has caught on in small towns as the eceonomy continues to collpase (and make no mistake, it is collapsing---resting solely on printed fiat currency). In my town, the beggars, finding that big city folks have awakened to their bullshit sob stories, have moved in and tapped into the gullible naievity of the liberal Christians, which we seem to be over-populated with. They stand at an intersection---usually one that intersects with a Wallmart (we all know how gullible you have to be to shop there), and hold signs that read "DISABLED VET...ANYTHING HELPS" or "SINGLE MOM....LOST EVERYTHING". Upon questioning, they never give you a solid story, and after a few hours in one spot, usually get into their BMW and drive off to another fishing hole.
So I've decided that if people are that stupid, then it would be interesting to see just how stupid they really are.......just how much bullshit will they swallow. So in order to find out, Grrl and I have decided to do some begging on our own this weekend.
My sign will read...."RECENTLY PAROLED SEXUAL PREDATOR.......ANYTHING HELPS"........and Grrrl's sign is going to read ......."LAID OFF PROSTITUTE.....LOST EVERYTHING, INCLUDING PIMP". I've already made arrangements to have my belongings shipped to Tread if I'm lynched, and my wife shipped to BFG----IF she has any ass left to ship after our day in the sun.
Seriously, if you're able to stand in the hot sun for hours, you can run the fry machine for a while and Micky Ds. There are plenty of social agencies, soup kitchens and single fat girls who will take you in. You don't need to rake in 300 a day from people who are probably worse off than you. Taking money from poor people puts you in the same League as a preacher, and that's saying something.
Anyway-----what are you seeing in your town? Have you noticed things getting worse, or is your city hall repaving the sidewallks in gold?

Trying to wrap my head around this thread. Wow. I read 7gothic's op and honestly didn't read anything at all as to 7 not caring about people. My dad is a preacher at a jail in El Paso and trust me I have been more than indoctrinated into the faith but I would never pass judgement on anyone for thinking what they think nor would I spout the hell-and-brimstone shit. There is a very real fire and brimstone place so why beat around the bush as if there wasn't..I agree I got pissed yesterday and it was a sin. But the whole "swallow their pride and a little cum" was a shot at beggars/homeless/less fortunate. I admitted I was wrong in front of all I offended. Goth can't seem to do the same. But of course everybody takes up for him cuz well he is a source and has a lot if karma so congrats you bandwagoners lmao. I do indeed see the plank in my own eye and am taking proper precautions(surgery next week ;) but seriously God worked on me through all this so no matter what the outcome is here, God got his point across to me. Be less judgemental and more loving when somethin upsets you. Don't jump people because you won't get a good response. But at the same time be sure to try to spread the Word when you think it is necessary which in my opinion it was needed on this thread. BTW PPL I LOOKED INTO BEGGARS MAKING MONEY AND IT SEEMS AS IF MAYBE ABOUT 1% OF THEM GET ANYWHERE NEAR EVEN 10,000 DOLLARS IN A YEAR. WHICH IS BARELY ENOUGH TO SUPPORT AN ALOCHOL ADDICTION(which most probably do have according g to those studies). HOWEVER I DID SEE SEVERAL SUCCESS STORIES ABOUT HOMELESS WHO WERE ABLE TO SAVE ENOUGH TO PULL THEMSELVES UP BY THEIR BOOTSTRAPS AND GET THDIR LIVES TOGETHER!!!

waltrI wasn't really gonna chime in on this because you and tread seem to be having a pissing match for some reason and looking at it from an outside perspective it just looks kinda silly, but anyway.
I'm a christian, and I believe Jesus was the Son of God and the whole jazz that goes with it, so I can respect where you're coming from. I can agree with your point that making a mockery of those less fortunate than us isn't the proper thing to do. I don't think however that this is what goth was trying to do in the first place, I think it was more about people trying to take advantage of others. I think that it's admirable for you to want to profess your faith to others and spread the word, but if someone is going to be unreceptive to the message you're trying to get across then just repeating it isn't really gonna help reinforce the message in my opinion.
On another note I'm not real big on the "fire and brimstone" preaching of the gospel, it didn't work out real good for the apostles and I don't think it's an effective method today. I think the best possible way you could go about spreading the gospel to others is by example. If an opportunity comes up in your life to spread the word, by all means do so. If the person you're telling it to doesn't want to hear it, just let it go, at least you tried.

Now days every one wants feel good preaching and most preachers leave out the word of God. Instead they are basically just motivational speakers, which is all good but when I attend church I want to hear the word of God and how it affects my life and how I should apply his teachings in my life. ALL BACKED BY 100% FUNDAMENTAL SCRIPTURE! What you said about ppl being unreceptive is exactly right and all one can do after verbally sharing the word is show others by example. I am no where near perfect and I do sim every day, but if a casual outside observer watched me day to day for a week or even a day, they would see that all I want is for others to accept the Lord as I have. I may copy/paste my testimony on here but idk how much good it will do and quite frankly probably no one will read it but I have a pretty powerful story, going from the top falling to the bottom and clawing my way back out of the gutter when I aligned myself with the Lord again. Ha! I totally thought this was going to be about how some eroiders beg for freebies from sources. I see homeless people collect cans near. My apatment complex after a party night. There are not too mAny who straight up beg on the sidewalk because the I'm at a small college town but at my folks home I see it all the time around the stores. They are just going to spend it on shit that they can't get with their food stamps. Ie alcohol, drugs .... So don't enable them. I've been watching breaking bad recently, and it makes u think... Most homeless people are responsible for being in the situation they are in. I really don't think any homeless people are pulling in 70k

The day I worry about being conned out of a dollar or five or ten will be a sad day indeed. Not because I have so much money, ("its quite to the contrary ) but because all my life I have hated people that live in fear and misstrust of others. My father in law is this way , the minute he sees someone who doesnt look German, he thinks they are going to steal from him, if the waiter at a restaurant takes 30 seconds longer than he thought he assumes he is stealing his CC number , and he never ever ever tips generously let alone goes within 10 feet of a homeless beggar . He is the epitomy of a pathetic weasel .
I will never stop pulling over to help people in distress, and if I have a dollar or two I will never stop putting it in the hands of someone who claims to be missfortunate. I dont believe in any kind of God that any religion preaches, but I do believe their lives will suffer due to their actions. And I know with great certainty that my life is enriched far beyong the five bucks every time I feel I have done my part to help.

tread-mYou're a smart man, I respect you a lot but I think maybe you missed something here. To not give every begger money is not being without generosity. In fact, in my city you could drive around all day every single corner giving away just quarters and be broke overnight. Not for a lack of jobs being in a top 5 economy. Not because we have a lot of disabled or elderly homeless or hungry children. Because a lot of people have figured out they can walk around doing nothing and make 20-50 an hour. I sit at a light and "never" will I see at least one person not hold up cash. Yet I see the same people at the same corners I travel every single day. Now think about that. Every si gle time the light turns red and individual collects "minimum" one dollar because its alwyas paper money. Often it 5's or 20"s I'm sure. Do that math you are very smart. Now tell me the incentive to walk in somewhere and apply for a job making a 10th of what begging does?
I have given soooo many times to those in obvious need, will do so forever and offer help in many other ways. Such as offered to help a guy change his CV joint on a lowes parking lot until I realize nothing wrong with it, he was "stranded and needed money to fix it to get his daughter home out of town". You are a car guy, you know a cv joint is a bitch! I know how and offered help but he was a con. So while I don't live as you night say , "paranoid" and I am quite generous...I do have the good sense not to contribute to an actual problem.
Don't mis-interpret that to mean you don't have good sense, you full well do. Do interpret it to mean there is a lot of real estate between where you stand and where the paranoid German you speak of stands. I live in that real estate in a real nice place where I try to be both generous and also maintain my good judgment as to "helping someone" or "enabling " them. My life experience has shown me , again where I live, many of these people are alcoholics and take most of their money and drink on it. So when I recognize certain one I know to be drinkers because I have seen them around the corner from where they beg drinking, I certainly don't "help" them. So many people with good intentions enable people to continue destructive lives right up to their funeral just after their last miserable drunk cracked out day. I won't say its right or wrong to do so I just choose not to participate in their habits, disease, whatever you choose to call it.
Point being, may not be quite as black and white as you see it and I know its not all black as German man see's it.

AnonOK point taken, and just so you know I had a friend that eventually died from his cocaine adiction, and when hed ask me for money for gas or food Id go buy him the gas or food. I have had homeless people ask me for money and I just go in to the nearest store and buy them a sandwich or drink . So first of all you have to understand its not just about handing out cash. And sometimes its simply about helping, like changing a flat tire or giving directions .
My point is that when you become so suspicious and sinacle , you limit yurself from some enriching experiences. Like I said through marriage I am now related to the most paranoid SOB there is on the planet, and I admire nothing about that.
Now theres also the question of my judgement. Has there been times Ive told someone "no fucking way and get the fuck away from me while you still can " hell yes there has, so that being said do you think every time I gave money it was to a con man ? Maybe once or twice sure I'll buy that, but most of the time, deffinitely not. So even if I got conned once or twice, or enabled a few crooks once or twice, I still wouldnt trade it for the times people really needed that sandwich, five dollars, or flat tire changed.

Maybe where you are you see a lot more of the actual needy and I know that's all over the country I do. Where I live if you jand someone a sandwich they would thank you and as you drove off they would feed it to their dog and then go to the underpass for lunch and take out their filet mignon, orange roughy and lobster tail and dine as their partner poured the finest of wines to finish off the perfect romantic dinner as it were. Lmaoooo...seriously man , 1% maybe actually in need here. In all actuality I respect those because they could just hang around the free housing with no legs in a wheelchair and capitalize on the states very generous food program which btw is beginning to including dining and alcohol (currently fighting for those rights and winning some) yet at least they wheel down to the corners and do something. I respect that to some degree. We actually have people living in 1000 dollar a month apts, nice apt's with hud housing paing 50 bucks a month type stuff and funny as you drive through the hud properties Escalades etc all over. See them at the stores wearing full on 300 dollar shoes and high end clothing etc. Some of which will throw on some rags amd slump over , walk down to the corner and "hang a sign" as its called and jackpot for a couple hrs so they have an extra w-3k a month on top of all the frre gov programs.
I do fully understand geography is different. I can see in the heart of Detroit maybe bad economy has less peopl?e giving to where "hanging a sign " may not be as profitable so you end up with a high percentage of beggers being actually in need. In really good economies so many just use it as an income and live pretty well to be unemployed (not unemployable by any means).
I'm not joking either, 4 million people where I live which includes tourists and there are a mimimum of one or two panhandlers every major corner. These won't just stand there either and even walk into traffic and look at you standing beside your window looking sad...actors essentially and pretty damn good ones mostly. Lol

biggerthanyouGood points indeed, I'm young and still learning. But a good video was posted above by some one else and one thing really stood out to me.
If I truly believe in God, heaven and hell, and that some people may be headed to hell, how much do I hate others if I don't share my faith with them? Like if I knew beyond the shadow of a doubt(in my mind) that a truck was gonna hit and kill you today, yet I didn't warn you, then I must really be hate filled. Same principle but one determines where your soul goes for all of eternity.
Granted i was judgemental, rash, angry and used a bit of profanity and name calling. But hey nobody is perfect and ill be the first to admit i didnt start out handling this situation the right way. But look i learned how tl handle situations like this for future reference. Maybe that was the lords intentions all along i dont know. But the fact remains that if i care at all about some one then i am going to share the message with them regardless of how many ppl team up against me and how controversial it gets.
I hope you do share with others your beliefs and convictions my whole point is just make sure they are what God says is true, and what Christ taught. Because if you are misrepresenting him people won't get saved even if you do share because it is not the Word of God. It is your duty as a disciple of Christ to represent His will and word in both action and deed not just for you to tell others what you believe. Because if it does not line up with the scripture then it is a false doctrine and can only deceive others.
I personally really enjoy listening to all men speak and I weigh what I hear to see if it will truly benefit me or set me worse off. I admire your passion to share now make your words and deeds live up to that passion and no one will be able to refute you.

I do see ur point about being his disciple in word AND deed. I screwed that up from the start by not being calm and collected. biggerthanyouI know u are a smart guy not to mention OLD ;) so yes I know that u know more than me. Yesterday when I saw this I was upset and pissed and flew off the handle. It struck a nerve with me and I do have a hard time holding back hateful comments when I'm angry. It was a sin and wrong and trust me my quick temper is something that God has me working on. However I wouldn't say my comments today are hate filled. Actually quite opposite. More than anything I would love to see Goth and any others be saved and find eternal life. If you really think I am hate filled etc etc its cuz of how I came off yesterday. Not to mention every1s personality changes somewhat when online because it is hard/impossible to convey emotions via the web. I love you all. But I HATE that Satan has his hooks in anyone, much less some1 smart like goth who has a tremendous talent for writing and could do so much good witnessing for Jesus if he could only find Him. biggerthanyouYou may school me at the gym. I'm off cycle and honestly if you look at my stats its pretty obvious I'mnot trying to be huge. II'm an athlete and base my workouts around cardio. Hit the track with me big guy and you haven't got a chance in the world. I could be 250+ lbs and def competing professionally but that's not my calling in life(at least not at this point) I stay around 220-230 and very aesthetic
