Why Aas?

ad

Ok I'm new here, and I am writing this with the utmost respect in an attempt to understand..

Why in the hell are some of you using gear? I see people on here that look like have never lifted a weight in their life talking about how they have done five and six cycles. Honestly with the apparent shape some of these people are in, I cannot understand how they have even done one cycle. Look I'm not saying I have a great physique, hell I wouldn't even consider it mediocre, but at least I have a solid build and the ability to move some wight around. Which brings me to my next point, I saw a thread recently where someone was excited to have just dead lifted 365 or something like that.. What in the hell are you using AAS for?! And if you've been using gear for a while, what are you doing in the gym???

I just don't understand guys, I I hope nobody takes offense to this.

I have not run a cycle and I don't take supps (ok maybe the after lift protein shake and some sugar) either. Diet is just on point and i TRAIN 4 days a week.

I look through all of these first cycle logs and most of them show little to no results.. Wtf?? Is it even worth it for me? I have to imagine it would be, as I have achieved what I have achieved with low natty test levels. Some of you must just be doing something royally incorrect...

I get where you are coming from but I wouldn't say that your comments would be taken as being with 'utmost respect'. Is there a rule in your book when and why you should use AAS? Everyone who uses does for their own reasons, not always for bodybuilding purposes.

durkadurka's picture

The answer is, it's all in what YOU want and WHY you want it.
AAS is a winding road with many turns and paths to take, and if done right, it can enhance health and well being aswell as the added benefit of protein synthesis, joint support and added testosterone levels.

Not everybody who takes steroids wants to look like an IFBB pro. If you read what other members have put, some take steroids because they simply want to send their strength and recovery levels through the roof. Powerlifters and strongmen who prefer a mix of androgenic and anabolic steroids for their qualities in strength, aggression, recovery and growth.

Now that's a package you can't get by going into a supplement shop and getting a 'Super Mass Builder 3000' protein blend tub. Neither is it a package you could probably get with natural training unless you were gifted like God himself with herculean strength and muscles which granted, some guys are and hats off to them.

But for the 'average Joe', that guy that wants to put some size that it would take you typically a year or so to achieve can achieved in as little as 3 months. And if you say that it's okay to cycle twice or three times at most in one year and on average about 15-20lbs of muscle is gained. 20+20+20=60. That's 60lbs of muscle my friend. Something that would take years and years and years to attain. And in fact, many guys on here have physiques you couldn't achieve in a lifetimes work in the gym.

And if that isn't an advantage and a main reason to commit to safely using steroids then I don't know what is. Aren't we all on the road to sculpting our own pieces of art. Aren't we all our own sculptors? And if that is the case, who's stopping us/you/them/me from using techniques that make that sculpture come to life quicker and more denser and effective?

There are limits like you say, and you say that you've seen pictures of guys on here that don't even look like they've lifted weights. Yet if you joined your brothers in iron for a day, you'd be exhausted buddy. The peak of what steroids can do for you can go both ways. They are not a go to, they are a supplement. It's the dip that goes with that chicken wing to make the journey to KFC that much better. It's that song on your MP3 player that makes your journey to work that much more fun and enjoyable.

Is it worth it for you? Well if your going to walk into the world of steroids with a naive stereotypical view on the scene then your only going to disappoint and hurt yourself. It needs hours of understanding, hours of research, hours of commitment before you even think about thinking about taking them. It needs consolidation with experts, it needs support from yourself and your wallet and it needs a pure well established base for which you are to sculpt your sculpture and make yourself what you want to look like.

Only then, and then only. Can you ask yourself whether it's worth it. Because then only you will be able to judge what you've achieved and what you've seen expand and widen and strengthen and grow. And until then, the most important aspect of ridding stereotype and ridding hearsay and learning for yourself before doing. Learn from the experience of others, check their stats out before and after. Learn from the experts. Get an informed opinion.

Then the rest is down to you.

Extremely well said bro. +1

Not everyone takes steroids to look a certain way. Some are powerlifters that could care less about shape and body fat. Then there are others that take aas because of the way it makes them feel more than the way it makes them look! Not everyone has the time and or motivation to train and diet like a pro bodybuilder, and it is much more important to be a good father and provide for their families. I believe just being the best you can be is more than good enough, and if that means supplementing a little test or whatever to get done what you need to is a noble thing to do

Absolutely correct in your assumptions bro.... MOST here have not got a single fkn clue what they are doing either with drugs, training, or more importantly DIET.

I leave myself open to flaming or gang raping here but!.... honesty will prevail.

since your "new".. you might try spending time reading.. (not to sound like a jerk). But I've been here way over a year and I have yet to do a cycle.. Why is that you may ask ?. Because I wanted to make sure what Im going to do is correct and done the right way...so what have I done over the last year being on here ?

Research... read...research..repeat..

Im 51..check my stats. very few people will ever come close to what I have done in the gym even being on aas.. I have some natural gifts that help me in the gym.. I dont look like a Body builder.. Im not built that way.. But ask me to pick up the back end of your car.. you might be suprised...I dont ever want to stand there in a thong and have people cheer me on.. Im to old & its not my thing.. I lift to get a release of anger and power... I dont care who watches me in the gym.. makes no difference to me.. I lift for me.. and I happen to be better at it then you..So why would I want to start in on aas at my age ?

Well Im hoping it will help me continue on my journey.. it will help with my numbers and will help with my over all demeanor..I love to lift.. Im good at it.. I like the result.. and its good for my health..

hope that gives you some insight...

+1 brother. I love it, sounds like me and you have similar motivation in the gym.

Shit seen a 76yr old at my gym putting the young guys to shame. I walked up to her and simply said "you are amazing" and also asked her what time she normally hits the gym cause she is making me look like a wimp and i want to avoid the gym when she is there lmao. It was awesome to see her lifting 2 45's on an Olympic bar full on shoulder press.

hahaha, not my intentions at all, notice I didnt use the word "old" ;)

Well if nothing else regardless of your motive you can see how the majority responded to this post. It is kind of like the law of reciprocity at work. People are looking and critiquing you like you did. Now this could be a place in life where you harden up and say fuck them they are ALL wrong! Or you go you know maybe I shouldn't be so judgmental and critical of others. Believe me every time we come to this cross road in life it shapes are character one way or another. Good luck with your choice.

GRIMEY's picture

Im sick of these posts from people like you that passively slap people in the face in an attempt to hold themselves and their achievements above everyone else.

Ok I'm new here

Great way to introduce yourself.

Why in the hell are some of you using gear?

For a lot more reasons than just bodybuilding.

I cannot understand how they have even done one cycle.

Perhaps that's because you're new here, have never used AAS and don't know what you are talking about?

Which brings me to my next point, I saw a thread recently where someone was excited to have just dead lifted 365 or something like that.. What in the hell are you using AAS for?!

Oh look more ignorance. We are all built different with different limitations and abilities whether its strength or size. Ive done several cycles, yet my max bench is still shy of 300lbs. Im just not built for bench, Ive got long stringy arms. Although I can deadlift 465 and Squat 4 wheels for reps when healthy. Should I not be using AAS because I dont meet you magical numbers?

I just don't understand guys, I I hope nobody takes offense to this.

You're a fuckin goof, I hope you dont take offence to this...... See what I did there?

I look through all of these first cycle logs and most of them show little to no results

Surely you will look like an IFBB pro after your first cycle.

Wtf?? Is it even worth it for me? I have to imagine it would be, as I have achieved what I have achieved with low natty test levels

Brb, Ill get you a trophy.

Some of you must just be doing something royally incorrect...

You're the best, please show us the way, you condescending passive aggressive god of bodybuilding and everything AAS.

Hi Grimey, If you took a second to look you would see that I did introduce myself, you know in the introductions section of the board.

Also if you bothered to look through the whole thread here you would see that I was simply looking for some clarification (which you didn't provide, but others have). I will repeat it for you, because it seems you lack the ability to read anything before responding with the limited amount of reading comprehension you possess Smile

I saw a thread, heck several threads where experienced members have told people who were looking to start their first cycle that they shouldn't think about using AAS until they can lift x amount of weight x amount of times. And then I see threads with people who have run multiple cycles who can't lift that weight once. I didn't see anyone jumping down that guys throat about doing multiple cycles, but I see people jumping down the guys throat who hasn't even done one. Like I said before there seems to be a lot of contradiction going on here, and I was confused about it.

Not once did I say I was some kind of god, nor do I have any interest in bodybuilding. I train for strength and well being.

The only thing with any accuracy in your post was the fact that yes indeed I am a goof.

P.s take a second to read through a thread completely before you vomit on it ;)

GRIMEY's picture

I read YOUR post and replied to YOU. To me your post came across as underhanded and condescending. Perhaps I was wrong. Im sure you can see how your original post could be takin the wrong way?

BTW Im gonna reverse the -1 I gave ya.

This is NOT A BODYBUILDING SITE! I forgot, some of you think that only bodybuilders use gear! Forget the TRT guys or the endurance athletes, the fighters or even the guy with the muscle wasting disease who came here to learn about the drugs the doc is prescribing him.

Thanks to all !

Good testimony!!! Real health solution through hormones are to me the #1 most important reasons to use!

Nitti's picture

Glad we were able to help. We need you guys to speak up more and share why you're here. Maybe then these guys will get it.

wanted's picture

Who ever said there are no stupid question never met this ( kid )

MrDizzle's picture

O come on guys, maybe I came off that way, but again that was not my intention!

I just saw a lot of contradictions throughout the community. First I see a post where someone says you shouldn't even think about AAS until you can lift x amount of weight x times and then I see a post where someone has done several cycles and cant lift that same weight once. I was just looking for some clarity!

Darktide's picture

No actually I believe you didn't mean to come off that way because you said that throughout your post. But it still came off that way. I have done that plenty of times myself. Hopefully if you read through these responses you will understand more. Also it isn't like your post had no points you were right about certain usage being not wise. But you were also putting many in a box. And of course the comment about the guy dead lifting yeah that was just conceit. Anyone can tear down others by comparison to their experience. I could use my credentials and things that I have done by the time I was your age to make you feel like your life was pathetic. But it would be a bullshit dishonest comparison. But like I said I do not think you were being malicious.

Darktide's picture

I like this ^^^^^^^^^!!!! A real man of self accountability!

White Bolt's picture

I use gear for cosmetic improvement, the better I look the better I feel. I also use gear for strength, in case shit ever pops off and I gotta step up. Come at me bro.

OmNom's picture

I try to find out why the person is taking gear.. it usually ends up they already had low t or other health problems.. so I don't blame them at all for taking this route... And this only proves gear is not magic.. just because you take the stuff doesn't mean you'll ever look like a god even with a great diet some ppl just don't respond to gear like others.. now if you have nothing you back from gaining naturally you might get some negative feed back from the community. In your case no roids aren't worth it.. you're 23 and have plenty of time to grow and build at great base.

MrDizzle's picture

Did you see my reply at the bottom of the page? I do have what I ( and many others I'm sure) would consider low test for my age.

OmNom's picture

Damn yeah 300 is pretty low for your age.. I take it your doc gives you the run around and tells you that's fine

MrDizzle's picture

Doc and endo lol. Apparently my growth plates were fused by the time I was 15 as well.. I'm cool with the Aas route.. Just don't think I want TRT at this age. It was never offered and I'm not going to push the issue with them.

crayon's picture

Im 22 with 385 and after this cycle im definetly going to push for trt, after seeing the effects that a good amount of test can make you feel and then contrasting that feeling with what i was like at 385, fuck yeah i want trt!! Such a massive shift in my mood and i want to keep this high!

OmNom's picture

If you decide to take the route of AAS you have to be open to TRT because you can screw yourself up from any cycle.. Just keep that in mind.. If you are still gaining the way you are now I say why fix what isn't broken.. sure the test numbers are low but your lifts aren't =p

OmNom's picture

Sorry no I missed that.. post the blood work in the forums.. there are a lot of knowledgeable members that may have other options for you.
