+ 1 Time constraints and nutritional targets

ad

Hi forum followers,

So a recent spanner has been thrown into the works with regards to planning and executing my next cycle, and this is with regards to nutrition intake.

So I'm still waiting for my order to land so at least this hasn't hit me mid-cycle.

Right, so I work in construction and I've recently changed firms and moved to a new site. I'm a labourer for a brick laying gang. For anyone from the UK. I'm a hod carrier or a 'hoddy'

So pressing on; I'm f*%King flat out! I don't stop! Muck, bricks, wall ties, expansion foam. I'm on the go from 07:30 till 16:00 apart from a 30 minute tea break at 11:00am. And I mean 30 minutes from leaving my area of work to returning to it. During this time I also need to wash and piss. So my eating window is about 10-15 minutes.

Is there anyone that has/is experiencing this and if so, how do you work around getting your nutrition in? Because for a large important part of the day, I am not able to take in nutrition as I would like. I'd be lucky to nibble on a protein bar.

Just really interested to hear from anyone else in a similar situation. Is it healthy to cram in your nutrition and binge eat if you like? I suspect not.

For me its easier and faster to drink than chew and swallow..
2 shakes. Each with a cup of eggs whites with 40 grams oats , 70 grams blueberries, 1scoop whey protein chocolate and 1 table spoon nut butter
I blend them when i wake up and put them in my lunch box
I can sip it on my way to piss break and on the way back

Yeah totally agree on that. I do eat on my lunch break. Just thinking more about the bigger picture. I can wake up and have a shake. Then another at tea break. But I also need to be eating whole foods and hitting my macro-nutrient and caloric targets. In an ideal world, I'd drip feed my body marcros and calories by eating little and often 6-8 times throughout the day but unfortunately, I don't have thar luxury. Thick, packed shakes also take longer than expected to consume.

You canmake excuses or you can make it work
Its up to you. HOW BAD YOU WANT IT !!
Why have a shake when you wake up at home eat a meal. Then that leaves you 2 shakes at work. Wow i fixed it already
I wake up extra early to cook a meal and make the shakes.

It will come down to waking up early like you said (I'd already considered a 5am workout to beat the crowds at the gym) and just maximising the 24 hours in the day. But getting organised and formulating an effective plan is key. Like you said, it comes down to how bad I want it. But my job isn't for the feint hearted, it's tough going.
