I had shoulder repair and hernia repair back in September. it was a left side inguinal hernia. they did robotic with mesh. no heavy lifting for 6 weeks, but after that I was good to go. have no issues with it at all
Same here, but had laparoscopic bilateral inguinal, after 6 weeks started back light and just eased back into it.
Wasn't pleasant but not the end of the world, you'll recover and maybe come back stronger than ever with more drive and dedication. Good luck bro!
I’ve had hernia surgery twice. Inguinal, they fixed it with mesh. Right side and left side both years apart. Recovery time is not to bad at all had my last surgery in October of last year and it only took me out of the gym for a month. Didn’t deadlift or squat heavy for multiple months but it really isn’t a bad recovery compared to other injuries.
Ouch...wish you a quick succesful recovery.
Note to myself: Avoid tearing abs....
AnonNever had it but I've always heard once you get the mesh it will blow out again.
I had belly button repaired.
Open and laparoscopic surgery. They cut open the front sewed hole shut then put patch behind laproscopicly. Patch is way over sized for support. 20mm hole and a 90mm patch.
If you dont get mesh the only other option is just sew the hole shut. Which one you thinks gonna be stronger?
My doc did both cause he said that's the strongest you can ever make it.
yup same with me. sewed and a patch. shoot I almost had him patch both sides for the heck of it but he said no need to do right side. Ha. I tried.
They use to put the mesh on the outside of the hole years ago. Which caused problems.
They put it behind now. Then it gets smooshed between abs and organ sack.
Yeah, said patch would go behind. Its too high up to even use belt, so kind of stuck working around it
