+ 13 Coming at it from a different angle

ad

Hi guys..... i just spent time typing this comment in a thread in the cycle section, i think it may benefit a few more guys here who are struggling to actually eat what they have planned for their bulking diets, hopefully this shed a little more light on how to get those precious extra calories into your cake-holes LOL.

I,m late to the party here and the guys below have spoke about macros etc......

I would like to come from a different angle if i may because a lot of diets posted lately have me shirking and saying to myself "no way i could eat like that for 12wks or more! i mean i would probably struggle to eat what you list for 2/3 days.

What im saying is .. its fkn boring and dry!

Bulking should consist of plenty of nice soft boiled veg and sauces to give moisture and flavour, having food this way makes you want to eat it,, and you tend to look forward to the next meal instead of sitting there grinding that dry shit down your throat!.

Lets mix it up a bit... for instance get some oily fish like mackeral or sardines mixed in with the red meat and chicken meals.... again for taste and easy chewable moist food that slips down the hatch easily instead of chewing all day like a cow in a field..... mushrooms sauteed in a little water creates loads of juice for steaks /chicken fillets etc.

Too many folks are reading Muscle and fitness and get to thinking all foods! all meals! have to be ultra-clean............ wake up guys they are catering for cross fit jumping monkeys not Bodybuilders.

Hundreds and thousands of guys hang around that 200lb mark for years on end because they cant (or wont) eat enough!!.

What we must do to break eating plateaus is make our food EATABLE...... boring dry shit will not make us big........... but tasty, moist and easy to eat food WILL.

Fuckers that have a desire to break the 240 and above body-weights KNOW already how to make their food slide down...... and very few eat the same shit every day unless on a serious cutter.

Serious bulking is a mean undertaking and takes some fkn commitment and concentration to uphold the strict regime................ for me it is THE hardest part of Bodybuilding period.

Use your imagination and show some flair in the kitchen to turbocharge gains with some moisture and flavour..................... anyone willing to throw any moisture rich recipes up in here im all fkn ears guys..... i will eat just about anything and will try anything once lmfaooooooooo.

I've read this before and its so true running gear easy ...getting sleep alitte harder...training your ass to grow should be hard if your doing it right eating enough calories to grow to me is the hardest part if bodybuilding ... shovelling food down your gullet to support hypertrophy every 2 to 3 hours can be as enormous task...like vike said sauces, broths, gravys. What ever to get that protein down..i find it really hard around leg and back days when i train hard enough i get nauseous

Best thing I ever bought was a slow cooker!

Been using it alot lately mainly for Currys to take to work.

Turkey or chicken
Broccoli
Peppers
Mushrooms
Sweetcorn

Bang it all in the slow cooker overnight and it's perfect for the next day's meals.

Also been using microwave rice so I don't have to get up as early as I used to.

2x 4 oz ground bison patties seasoned to liking
1lb trimmed asparagus grilled EVOO brushed on top w/ season to liking
1.5 cups roasted sweet potatoes seasoned to liking

This has been my go to Friday meal for the last 3 wks. Too bad bison is so ducking expensive. Goddamn Costco

I'll eat all the food for you! lol Eating was never a problem for me. Testosterone makes me ravenous. Plus on bulks I ate lots of juicy burgers and stuff like that so it was fun. Maybe not the cleanest, but it got the job done!

I have a Vita Mix (basically a super blender that will lquidize or powderize about anything) so a lot of my food comes from the blender... if your having trouble eating all that food or it makes you feel like you're gonna puke when just even thinking about it, try the Vita Mix--- it will allow you to drink a lot of food instead of eat it. I add frozen berries to my shakes and sometimes I'll add a frozen chicken breast in there... You don't even notice it with the other stuff in the shake.
Good post Vike!

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Sounds like a good piece of kit!

i too like to build 14/1500 Kcal shakes to make daily targets easier..... and i still drink Tuna/coke because i love it and being able to just drink 30grams of protein and let loose a fkn big fishy belch is still a joy lol.

last time i mentioned tuna/soda we ended up with a fkn Pepsi or Coke debate lmaoooo........... i really dont give a fuck if its either, im happy with cheap supermarket own brand to be honest.... if i have the luxery of being at home when i wazz this together its get a half teaspoon of Cinnamon to help with the Insulin spike, if im out and about it just gets thrown in a shaker cup and downed Smile

Everyone should carry a can opener in the glove box just for the cans that dont have ring pulls.

Frozen chicken breast? Raw?

Vita mix's are great. I use one to make part of my post work out meal; cold cooked yams, pom juice, frozen berries and green beans. it makes it an easy way to get down 1k cals in one sitting plus I hate vegetables and it makes it way more palatable.

hey don't judge me lol. So here it goes:
Chicken Breast: half boiled/ half baked (trust me not over cooked lol)
sliced n stuffed w/ Mozzarella
Topped with Garden Combination pasta Sauce Six Italian Cheese and Parmesan
Served with Penne Rotini w/ Ground turkey or beef (your preference) w/ garden combination pasta sauce
Don't forget Garlic Bread

I also made up
ground turkey
red peppers
green peppers,
sour cream
half onion,
2 fresh garlic cloves
cracker barrel sharp cheese
mozarella
milk
baked biscuits
blend that up real nice put in oven. its like a casserole sounds crazy but its good. I usually eat that with yams & white rice. I don't think I have to say it lol but I have to eat oats n peanut butter shake w/ whole milk before breakfast that helps a lot with meeting daily calorie needs. As well, lately try not to add huge amounts of protein powder s*** been f****** with my stomach so I just keep it to after training. Then you know I gotta have my snacks, correction I love my snacks raspberry Danishs warm it up with milk but I'm fat boy at heart I can eat whole cake by myself. oh polish off pack oreos marshmallows flavor I'm not saying this is perfect diet but I've been eating like this more lately tryingto pack on the pounds no I didn't turn into a fat blob cuz I got high metabolism so I gotta eat like crazy just to pack on weight. so once again not a pro but I love the lifestyle n s*** is real gotta eat to gain and obviously train you a** off.

We use 2 or 3 at a time, makes food prep only 1 day a week for the most part....saves time and food always taste great!

Bulking is when I forget about all these lean cuts of meats. I get so sick and tired of eating baked fish and chicken breasts that I really look forward to eating my fish deep fried as well as my chicken. None of this skim milk and unsweetened almond milk either, time for my 2% milk and I treat myself with some whole milk and cream straight from my neighbors farm. Let me tell you that 80% lean burger is also much more tempting and appealing than that 95% lean burger.

Forgot to mention that every weekend it is baby back or St. Loius style ribs in the smoker and sometimes a beef brisket. A good dry rub first on those ribs and yes they still get a thorough coating of BBQ sauce the last hour and another dose before serving. Put your old clothes on because you are going to get dirty eating these babies. Napkins don't work here. Just eat and clean up with a shower afterwards.lol
How can you not look forward to eating that.

Our resident nutrition Guru telling us how he eats off season.................... see guys these guys are giving you the real deal here............ its NOT all about that crusty, dry boring diet you saw in a BB mag.

These are real guys that eat in the real world with food that cannot fail to make you grow.

thanks mak Smile

Always make a huge batch of Mushrooms, peppers and onions cooked in olive oil. Everyday it gets added to eggs, steak, chicken, ground turkey and beef.

Pesto is another great addition and utilized the same as above.

Lentils and spinich is another staple for me. 5 items..Olive oil, garlic, lentils, spinach, beef boulion. I'll add 2 cups of rice to this when ready to eat.

Soba noodles! It's the top of my carb list and way easier to digest than any other pasta and it has more Calories and carbs.

Thank Christ you said no homo!

But you're 100% spot on with this Big V. Guys are looking at pros cutting diets thinking that's what they grow on, probably due to that their volume of food is still high even while trimming up.

As a matter of fact I eat like this every Sunday
