Just for knowledge. I'm planning on doing a cut this next cycle and may enter a local show. my question is when to start pct should I start my pct right after show or let my self get a tad bit of mass back on before I start pct. which way is less harmful to the gains that are achieved during cycle.

This is a tricky bitch here and you are going to have to make the call and weigh the pros and cons. If you truly are in contest shape, I'm talking sub 5%BF and have gone through all the rigors of show prep you are going to gain more lbm in such a short amount of time that it will blow your mind if done properly. The post-show rebound is no joke. You'll gain more muscle in that short 6-8 week period than you will the rest of the year due to the sky high nutrient partitioning you will have in place because of your uber-low bodyfat. You have to eat like your on a mission and your life depends on it so don't eat like a bird and squander the opportunity. Eat anything and everything because the awesome nutrient partitioning will turn most of those cals into lbm.
I take advantage of that rebound by running short 6wk test p or tpp cycle to maximize it even further. My estro is also crashed for prepping for the show so the test p also helps that to recover quicker (no ai for me during that time frame). This really isn't a big deal for me to extend cycle past show since I am trt. If you are not trt, then you have to think really hard if it is worth it to extend your cycle for that much longer or you may just end up on trt if you do (which sucks by the way). Even without drugs, post-show you will still end up gaining more lbm than probably what you would gain by running a cycle later in the year. That is just how efficient your nutrient partitioning will be. Of course all of this is predicated on if you are actually in show condition and have gone through all the rigors of a prep.
Bottom line, if you are not already TRT, just take advantage of the rebound naturally and start your PCT since you will still gain a ton. Not worth the risk extending your cycle like that. If trt i would definitely stay anabolic during the rebound since you have no HPTA left to fry anyway. Just remember you HPTA is more valuable than any little plastic trophy.

I would time it so you start PCT right after the show. Diet dictates mass and that's with or without the steroids. You will gain mass after coming out of a cutting diet even without drugs
