Most places have protocols on dosage/time when coming off. It's usually a long process, but it works. Take it slow. Small increments are the key. If you don't feel right, hold off for a week or two and stabilize. This is not a race. It won't do any good if you get off next week and then start using the next. If you really want to be clean, take it slow, but be determined to get there.

mickey89's picture

Hey folks. I just saw this now. Crazy. Anyways, I'm 5 years without a drink or drug(street drug). Anything was my choice. Mainly heroin.
I got clean at 19(6 impatient facilities and 2 penitentiaries later). One of the most commonly asked things with family and friends is how does this affect me. It's rather simple. To me, it's about intentions. Am I looking to get f**ked up talking gear? Nope. In fact, it's simply supplementation to me considering there are many pieces to the puzzle when it comes to this lifestyle. Nutrition, training, sleep, supps, gear etc. my intentions are simply the same as they are with micro and macronutrients etc, to assist the ultimate goal. I would buy OTC if I could to assist my body transformation. I just wanted to share that with you all so maybe it helps just one person. Thanks bros.

mutant's picture

X3. Not that anyone cant tell by looking at me but ive been asked b4 and i tell them im on TRT (which is true). My sponsor knows and also shares a like stance on gear. My girl always asks me "but doesnt the needle trigger u?" No no it does not 6 yrs off H and i nvr wanna live that hell again!!! Good luck brothers!!!

Deadlifter85's picture

Seeing slin pins gets to me a bit, but fuck if Id ever consider jamming a 22g in the main vein lol no trigger there. I did OC from the beginng of 06 until I got busted Christmas day 2007. That was a fun call home "sorry mom Im not gonna make it for Christmas dinner because Im in jail." I got clean for 2 years then I relapsed winter 2010 on morphine this time and finally got clean for good a year later. November 2, 2011 was my last time shooting up. I was also taking 2-3mg of xanax plus smoking huge amounts of "spice" that fake pot shit that everywhere for a while. Both times I got clean I just quit everything cold turkey at once, 240mg a day of morphine plus xanax to nothing overnight was rough. But kicking the morphine oc and xanax was absolutely NOTHING compared to the spice. That stuff f'ed me up royally. It took a whole nother 6 months before I could kick it, and the withdrawls and craving for it lasted for months on end after. That stuff was by far the worst thing I ever had to quit.

mutant's picture

Wow bro i nvr knew that spice had any withdrawl. I nvr tried that or bath salts either which i know has gotten alot of my clients by the balls. What do the withdrawls feel like from spice?

Deadlifter85's picture

Id say it feels something like a cross between a really bad cigarette craving and opiate craving/withdrawl (yes I used to smoke cigs too, but quit those too when i got off morphine, also way way easier than spice). it gave you that feeling of helplessness where you just want to scream and pound on the floor and cry all at the same time like during the worst part of an opiate withdrawl. It messed me up in other ways too tho like internal temp control, id be shivering and sweating at the same time. sleeping or eating were completely out of the question without it. and after time it made it so that if id go more than an hr or so without smoking it my hands would get all shakey and Id feel really awkward like I couldnt look anyone in the eye. i always felt like people could tell something was wrong with me. it was peolly a full year before all those side effects went away and even now 18 month later I will still occasionally get the shakey hands and awkward feelings. its really a terrible drug. Nothing helped the cravings either, like as far as other substances. like if I drank it just increased the cravings and I was told that it blocks THC receptors and I noticed pot had no effect at all when I was on the spice. Time was the only cure. i never tried the bath salts.

mutant's picture

Hoky shit dude... I nvr knew that it could do that. Shhows how long ive been out the game lol. This synthetic shit is getting outta control. It seems more n more of the younger generation that i encounter r strung out on some shit someone made in a toilet in their buddys basement. I know 1 thing brother every morning i wake up not dopesick is a blessing!!!

mickey89's picture

Amen brother!

PrezSHINRA's picture

Well put bro, loved how u broke it down. Nonetheless I never mention gear at my NA meetings for being judged

mickey89's picture

I second that. I speak with a select few that I trust including my sponsor.

Disclaimer- The following are my OPINIONS, based on FACTS of my experiences.

I identify myself as an alcoholic, however, I am also an IV drug user, pill head, speed freak, cokehead, wino, piss head, junkie, and any other derogatory term for an addict and alcoholic. Alcoholics Anonymous is what works for me. In AA, I am taught to take a kind and tolerant view towards everyone, including allowing others the right to be wrong...besides, WHO AM I to judge ANYONE?
That being said, I truly believe that everyone has their OWN path. In the beginning suboxone and methadone SAVED MY LIFE. But it was only a means to an end...the end being learning to live a useful, happy, and purposeful life in "unsedated reality". We alcoholics and addicts suffer from a spiritual malady. And there is NO CHEMICAL SOLUTION to a spiritual problem. Remember...alcohol and drugs (and alcohol IS a drug) are merely a SYMPTOM of the real problem.
It wasn't until I weaned down off suboxone and went through the pain of detox, that I was able to comprehend the spiritual aspect of recovery. This was not an overnight thing. It took months until I was clearheaded enough to understand anything at all...but WELL worth the pain and discomfort of detoxing. The freedom I have today is unparalleled. I am no longer a slave to, nor dependent on, any chemical. What I have is a daily reprieve, contingent on the maintenance of my spiritual condition.
All I can give are suggestions, based on my experience. So my suggestion is (for those on maintenance), take the jump, get off everything, give these 12 steps and recovery an honest try. You can ALWAYS return to the way you did things before if you're not satisfied.
"When the pain of remaining the same becomes greater than the fear of change...then you will change..."

@ levelup Excellent point brother! Well said!

levelup's picture

I see this page has kinda turned into an opinionated argument...if you disagree with a program that someone is on maybe pm them and help then or approach then in a discussion manor instead of an argumentative one. You aren't going to get a good response from people when you cause someone to be defensive...especially when you are referring to a drug problem. The idea behind this group is supporting each other so if you aren't doing that please refrain from commenting. With that being said I hope everyone is doing well and keeping themselves focused on the important things in life

Alright gentlemen, I figured this just might be the best place in the world that I know of, to get advice on pramipexol and suboxone. Pramipexol is a dopamine agonist, while suboxone is a opiate antagonist. Opiates work on seratonin, dopamine, and endorphins. Has any suboxone user on tren or deca taken prami. If so, did it counteract any of the effects of either drugs? For all I know it could alleviate the harsh sides of prami, or it could throw you into withdrawals. So if you have experience, a simple "g2g" would help out a lot. Loss of libido is already a problem on this suboxone crap. Finding a way around this would make maintence a lot more tolerable than it is. I'm considering tadalafil also. I'm clean off street drugs, swole an jacked up, I can name four girls that are literally about to "rape" me (which is good), and I'm lacking in libido. I've been on subs and Xanax alone so I can definitely tell a change for the worse after trenbolone for 10 weeks. Already stopped the tren 2 weeks ago and YES, I'm dumb for not running a prolactin inhibitor. I stuck with b6 300mgs, E 1000ius, zinc. It worked well at first, but now I really don't know.

thepullmanator's picture

I feel like I'm in a beginner mtg with a bunch of treatment centers...when did this page become about drugs and how to do them,
...we only care about what you wanna do about your problem and how we can help?

Anybody? Take that shit to pm or start a group on how to do drugs in cycle
Suboxone, methadone, Xanax, KRATOM are drugs, mind and mood altering substances...

Aas and recovery NOT Aas and maintenance program ...

Rant over

ReadyToKillIt's picture

Addiction is disease just like cancer. Sorry that with all of your medical experience you don't agree with maintenance programs. However actual medical professionals with actual degrees, agree in these courses of therapy to help people. If you want to buck the trend and start a group where they don't use current methods to treat addiction then go do it. This is a recovery lounge and I have seen all aspects of recovery discussed here. That being said I hope I don't keep reading down this page and end up putting my foot in my mouth, but a lot of the compounds you've mentioned are the standard course of treatment.

thepullmanator's picture

WOW that had a big turn out
what i said was my opinion, im sorry if it seemed like i was saying anything different, But what i was reading was not mait program, IMO, and i do have education on this subject( Not medical ) thier is a difference between maintenance and other...

let me say that I was on suboxone for 2 years....along with xanax.....An i can say that stayin on subs for 2 years did ME no good and, suboxone is best for detox protocol
Stayin on say....2mg of suboxone for years is unnecessary and one IMO can overcome that and get off completly, Many MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS would agree, many would not ( i like to think they are the ones getting kickbacks for all the subs they push, but thats neither here nor there)

Now this isnt for everybody but what I Noticed was my anxiety level and dependency on the drugs were caused by the drugs and once i got clean from all subs and xanax did i realize the full extent of my anxiety levels, which were present, but managabe....is everybody lie this, NO

Do i beleive that maitence programs are helpful and save ppls lives from the depth of addiction YES!!!!, do i think you are in recovery if you take subs and methadone(in a 12 step fellowship kind of recovery) No
it all depend on what the individual thinks is "is recovery"
Do all ppl that are Convinced by thier doctors to stay on for years even for life need a mait program? Methadone is a FUCKED up drug that is far less superior to Opiod antagonits

Im sorry if i offended anyone, it was my opinion, and was not ment as a shot at anyone

I just want this page and eroids to stay positive and not negative

ps- I feel very strongly about Kratom, A friend took it thinking he was clean and it was ok and 6 months later he died froma heroin overdose, PPL think its nothing and do not relize the neg consequenced it can have on an addicts brain chemisty

Love you guys,
ThePullmanator

tman5150's picture

So you've taken exactly what I'm on. How'd you get off Xanax and/or suboxone? Are you Prescribed anything like antidepressants or beta blockers? I'd love nothing more than to get this numb to life feeling off me.

mutant's picture

I suggest using the original suboxone proto bro. Piramid down to a quarter strip a day them off. Yes u will feel like shit for a few days but it is a means to an end. I work in the field n deal with this on a daily basis. Oh n yes i have 6 yrs so been there done that. Fr me bro maybe i can help!

PrezSHINRA's picture

I agree but I wouldn't make it that hard. I went from 16 to 0mg by cutting in small doses. 16 mg to 8 mg to 6 mg to 4 mg to 3mg to 2mg to 1 mg to .5 mg. For the smaller does cut a 2mg strip into what u need. Also I suggest taking your time don't drop doses two months in a row. Be advised that dropping to 4mg and lower is when sleep will start to be affected but its all manageable. Hope I helped, I really am not bullshitting about this, they use my protocol at my treatment center now because it worked so well. Going from 2mg to nothing is rough and as addicts it puts us in a vulnerable spot so cut the dose till .5mg.

thepullmanator's picture

i took my ass to rehab....lol
or should i say THEY took my as to rehab, after that it was half way house for a LONG time

But i couldnt have STAYED clean for more that 30 days without the 12 steps and the NA fellowship

I was taking 5-6mg of xanax in one gulp, i would take them like that untill i ran out of my script or money
Then on top of that i shot Dope all day everyday for years

So this is why i say what i say, if I and others can, so can anyone else.....they just have to be willing to do the work.....
but i think the type of answer your looking for is this, I went to detox and got MEDICALLY tapered off all Narcotics, then i stayed in a safe enough environment to get me thru the mental obsession until i learned what to do with such obsessions and how to channel them (IE gym, steps, meeting)

i was prescribed 24mg of suboxone and Xanax for many years, Now this is where my story may be different....I HARDLY EVER took the subs as prescribed, i would for a few weeks, then id cave in and sell them for H, the Xanax never lasted me more than 2 weeks(my script) so i cannot attest to the struggle of staying on subs for extended periods of time, bc i could never "stay clean" long enough to not shoot dope....and i know many other who's story is the same, and i know some who's is the same as yours, which is why I believe suboxone is best used for detox and NOT Maintenance

mutant's picture

X2 on subs for detox n not maintenance!

PrezSHINRA's picture

Agreed on it being best for detox and not maintenance but if ur already on it, best to taper off and not cut it out dramatically

carter8888's picture

Suboxone is the same a doing weak heroin. It is not the answer to anything. I know from experience. I used it to stop oxycodone then i got hooked on subs it was painfull.

mutant's picture

No doubt... Subs cold turkey without titrating down is a worse kick than dope imho.

oversteerisbest's picture

the worst w/d Ive ever had, worse than dope, was from oxymorphone. how does sub compare?

vhman's picture

The pain and suffering is the same, but it lasts much longer. The half-life of Sub is 48+ hours, where oxymorphone is 4-8 hours. The longer you're on Sub, the more you have built up in your system and you will be suffering hard for several weeks.

oversteerisbest's picture

damnit that's unpleasant. opana was 4 or 5 days of absolute hell. cant imagine more than that

vhman's picture

That is why tapering sub and methadone is key. You should always go very slow coming off if you want to be successful. It takes lots and lots of patients, but it's worth it to be successful.

mutant's picture

Well put bro!

thepullmanator's picture

If I can do it, and many others can, so can you

But be careful and do it right, consult a doctor and make sure your covered, don't wanna leave yourself high and dry with no meds, you could be right back where you started b4 Suboxone

Machinek's picture

I'm sorry about your friend but it sounds like if it wasn't kratom it would be something else. and like you said, he didn't die from kratom, but the polar opposite.... heroin. for me, its been great. have a great nite pull.

Nitti's picture

How can you judge the next man or measure their pain? I only say this because of the position you're taking on maintenance programs. You can't scorn or dismiss the next man for posting about or talking about their recovery. I'm saying this in defense of the ppl who are on pain management drugs for maintenance (in some cases suboxone, subutex , buprenorphine are used most effectively) while still living a healthier lifestyle centered around recovery. Recovery is a battle within isn't it? It's a life long struggle to be the best man/woman you can without ever having to turn to mind/mood altering drugs as a crutch. There are a lot of ppl walking this earth who have some form of debilitating condition that causes nonstop relentless pain. Doctors naturally prescribe pain killers one after another until the one that allows for a better quality of life pain free. Most of the time, this doesn't occur until they hit the opiates. Unfortunately that comes at a cost. For those who decide later that they can't live that way anymore but also can't live with the pain, maintenance programs are their only option. Those opiate blockers may be a way for the gov't to regulate and profit from drug use but if it gives the next man a better quality of life, while keeping him away from the more life wrecking drugs, who's to say that's right or wrong? Ya know, some ppl will argue that AAS is a mind altering, mood altering drug. You don't believe so right? Riiiight...

mutant's picture

X3 well put bro!

Methadone is a horrible drug! I don't disagree. I've seen the long lines outside the clinic with the melted face ppl from the Pink Floyd "The Wall" video.

tman5150's picture

You're right about the methadone. I was taking 120mgs a day. I tapered down for a year and still had the worst withdrawals. They lasted 4 months. But even after that, I found that I've given myself I chemical imbalance. DO NOT take the methadone route. I did for almost 7 years. If you take suboxone understand that the docs don't want you off it. Suboxone is meant to be a two week taper OFF opiates, Not as maintence. Im 2 years into it now and I know that coming off of everything will be a tough life long struggle.

thepullmanator's picture

X2

If it just means you don't want to kick for a few days I would seriously reconsider.

agreed that Most ppl are better off not stayin on a long term mait program, That can ruin your life just as easily, may not be as fast but it can be ruined all the same

But hey on the other hand ppl may need it
