training untill faliure or not for maximum muscle growth?

ad

I would like to know what the general consensus is when it comes to these training methods in terms of real world muscle gains.. which is best? and why?

*going all out until failure on each set, blasting your muscles leaving you sore for a good few days. You really do feel you have had a work out the next day.
*Or taking the approach where the focus is on volume with out going to absolute failure and possibly being able to hit the muscle group again the same week, thus increasing work done by a considerable amount as opposed to the former

thanks erioders

I always go until physical failure.. not mental. If a muscle is not completely taxed then I wont leave the gym.. this is just me but I think this is the way to go!

Balance between longevity, Intensity and cyclical in approach for consistent gains

IE - train to failure in bursts, train to near failure in bursts with more volume, etc

I'll just one of my all time favorite qoutes up.

Failure is the key to growth.
