Healthy wheat bread? Who avoids bread?
ad
Just wondering, I see a lot of mixed things about brown bread, but I personally love bread. My bread has 7 grams of protein and like 17g of carbs per slice. I use it for tuna or turkey sandwiches, or toast in the morning.... Is it impossible to cut while eating bread? Guess I'm just wondering what's so bad about it, and if any of you guys avoid it while dieting.

have you tried ezekiel bread, pigs fly bread or just generic sprouted grain breads? ezekiel bread comes frozen at many normal grocery stores and doesn't have a load of HFCS and added sugars. it has a lot of fiber and it is really dense, but has a great bready flavor. it has 80 cals per slice and 4 grams of complete protein because it uses a blend of grains including lentils. I personally try to avoid the mass produced garbage breads that use lots of highly refined ingredients.
Anonnot impossible to cut with it, no. i love bread. eating a turkey sandwich on whole wheat as we speak!
you're gonna want to make sure that you're bread is made from "whole" grains. the fda has set regulations on food companies in regards to using this term. it basically means it has not been altered nutritionally. companies got smart about their marketing schemes and started using terms like "multi grain" or "made from whole" grains. this can be misleading and does not ensure that the whole nutritional properties still remain. white bread for instance is made from whole wheat, but it is not the same. the wheat kernel, in this case, has been refined and stripped of its nutritional properties. the product then has to be "enriched" with some of the nutrients it has lost, but not all. it still lacks fiber. fiber is the key factor here in regulating absoption of this carb. did you know that the glycemic impact of one slice of white bread is identical to 4 tablespoons of white sugar?
if the title of the food does not have the word "whole" in front of the grain, chances are that it is not a whole product and has been refined. you can find the answer by looking at the ingredients list on the nutrition facts panel of the label. once again, you're looking for the word "whole" in front of the grain, not "enriched" flour.
Anonalso, most of these companies that are trying to imitate whole wheat are adding molasses to the mix to give the bread its brown color. molasses is a very fast digesting carb.
On my cut diet I have to eat 50g of carbs before two so you could eat 3 slices before two and that's it but that's my diet so I tend to not eat any breads while dieting.
7 or 12 grain orowheat.
sometimes I grab 12 grain lol
No1''impossible to cut eating bread'' where do you hear this crap, not it isnt impossible
Haha, I didn't mean literally impossible. But more difficult...I've just seen people say it hinders their fat loss
No1It doesnt for me then again I dont worry about carbs I only count the calories and protein so if your watching carbs and trying to keep them low then the bread probably wouldnt be a good idea seeing it has 17g carbs
Yeah I saw you stated that in another thread. I've never been into single digits before but no carbs/low carbs <100 seems to make no difference for me in weight loss minus feeling like poop.
