+ 1 What do you consider essential on a budget?

ad

I quit a really well paying job that let me spend basically whatever I wanted on gear and supplements.
Starting a new job tomorrow, huge pay cut but its two blocks from home, half the hours and generally looks like a huge quality of life upgrade.
So here's my question, what's a must have?
Tossing out my initial thoughts:
Test Enth
Aromasin
Reta
Telmisartan
Cialis
Vitamin D
Vitamin c
Fish oil
Astragalus extract
Magnesium

Fish oils are a scam unless getting it from the actual fish I learned from Dr .berg

TojiZenin's picture

I don’t agree with dr berg at all. I started taking fish oil and kept everything the same and my hdl went from 23 back up to 47 about 3 months later. Still on bulk too. Only change was the fish oil. Now I do agree that there are tons of shit brands selling rancid snake oil. I recommend Nordic naturals fish oil. I understand wanting to listen to the guy for one reason or another but I’m pretty sure we have insane amounts of meta data on fish oil being one of the best supplements for your heart health that you can get. I’m a fish hater so for me it would be hard to get in my omega 3 without supplementation

Massa Ron's picture

I agree that quality Omega-3 is probably the best supplement you can take. I take 5 grams of Sports Nutrition Omega-3 every day.

BigCoachKen's picture

Carlsons for me, but Nordic is my backup whenever my supp store is out of stock. This is the one supplement that you cant buy the cheapest brand. And follow the exp date.

TojiZenin's picture

Agreed. Sadly the cheap stuff is the problem and also exactly why so many people feed into the idea of it being a scam. If lipids and apob look good on bloods it’s really probably okay to skip the fish oil on a hard budget like this.

Scrawny-to-not's picture

Would you expand on that last point?

Brolly6898's picture

Magnesium glycinate is great
Stay away from those a.i. thay destroy your joints replace with maste

Brolly6898's picture

Dr. Berg is not entirely against fish oil, but he warns against cheap, low-quality commercial fish oil supplements that are often rancid, oxidized, or heavily contaminated. [1] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aj0UTxmmv4)Instead of standard commercial fish oil, Dr. Berg frequently recommends taking cod liver oil or eating actual fatty fish (like wild-caught salmon, sardines, or mackerel)
There was a newer video from Dr.berg about fish oils i gotta find it

Brolly6898's picture

Get on you tube and type in Dr berg he gives alot of info thst shouldn't be given by medical advisors
Ill try n find u the video of fish oils

If you get proper labs done, youll know which on that list is essential for your specific situation.

liverpool_96's picture

we're on a budget here, labs in the UK cost around the same as a 6 month supply of test. to play devils advocate, if you're running test only, don't eat like a fat pig, smoke or consume alcohol then how essential are labs?

BigCoachKen's picture

Fair point. But I assume yall still get at least annual workups. Agree though, it’s mostly lifestyle

Milfpounder's picture

This is the correctest answer.

Scrawny-to-not's picture

True, that will have to be done later i guess though because I've been taking a huge amount of supps for years straight, I dont have labs from the past 2 years where I wasn't on A-Z

BigCoachKen's picture

Relatable, I used to be onto all the otc supps. Slowly started removing them while keeping a clean balanced diet, and now only take fish oil (quality, dont skimp here), magnesium glycinate, and d3/k2, while on trt/gh only.

Now blastin, especially if an oral is involved, the list gets longer.

Thats a good order of priorities
Labs are thankfully free, I just have to sit through endless lineups.
What supplements are you putting in your top 5

TeaBody's picture

Fish oil, uvinquinol, TUDCA, d3, ZMA

Not including pharma grade BP SUPOERT, cholesterol, and kidney/liver

Do you think the tudca (im actually using pharma udca right now for shits and giggles) is worth while budget wise if not using any orals?
Tudca is expensive here. Its actually the same price as pharma udca.
Coq10 isnt too expensive, I will consider keeping that one in the stack.

Massa Ron's picture

I think it is good to take if you’re dropping significant weight on Reta.

Jrb97's picture

Tudca has made the shits on Reta normal again

Massa Ron's picture

If you were taking care of yourself when you had the money then I’d say nothing above is essential except Test. If you’re broke then you’ll be running an actual TRT dose which eliminates the need for an AI. You can justify Reta because it will help lower your food costs. Telmisarten and cialis are great to have on hand when you have cash but neither is essential. I take astragalus just in case it is actually good for the kidneys but it is not on my top ten list of supplements that would be essential if money isn’t an issue. This is just my $.02.

BigCoachKen's picture

Reta to lower food costs might be one of the dumbest statements Ive ever heard

Nice to meet you. I suspect that basic arithmetic is not one of your strengths.

BigCoachKen's picture

Common fucking sense isnt one of yours. Why are we removing proper nutrition for a peptide?

It is now clear that reading comprehension eludes you as well. Perhaps the IED rattled your noggin a bit. I addressed the gentleman’s post in context. My message was that none of what he put would be essential with the exception of the testosterone if you are dependent on that hormone. You could justify the Reta if you were poor in order to save money on food. If one is using Reta responsibly then it is assumed that the food which is eaten is nutrient dense.

Wait a min here. I'm the only one that is allowed to have full blown melt down heaters on eroids. The rest of you are supposed to get along.

Leave acting like children to me. I'm better at it.

Just come blasting in the room with a bowl of popcorn in one hand and a bowl of body temp brown gravy in the other.

Whats your essential supplement list

Massa Ron's picture

I take a lot of supplements. Since I can afford it, I will continue to take the following supplements:

Omega-3 EPA/DHA for lipids

Taurine for BP, glucose, metabolic/Cardiovascular health

Magnesium glycinate for sleep

Black seed oil for Lipids, glucose, BP, inflammation

R-ALA for Insulin sensitivity, glucose handling

Ubiquinol for Mitochondrial/Cardiovascular

D3/K2 vascular health

Citrus Bergamot for lipids

Daily Vitamin to fill in gaps in the diet

Milfpounder's picture

Cialis

Scrawny-to-not's picture

Whats your lube budget?

Milfpounder's picture

I use random shit out of the fridge for lube, so hard to say.

Scrawny-to-not's picture

Ranch or franks buffalo in a pinch?

Milfpounder's picture

Usually brown gravy.

Jaydog2244's picture

I like this list. I would say a high quality mens multi vitamin would have that vitamin d and c and alot more. And if you are cruzing you should find a dose of testosterone that dosnt require and ai and when you blast use something like eq or primo to help push more growth and also act as a ai. So the only thing I would do difference is drop the aromasin and replace it with something that pushes progress. But also everyone is different and it also depends how low your budget is too. Good luck brother!

Scrawny-to-not's picture

Primo is mega expensive if I can even find it in the great white north, thankfully I have a few vials now.
At 200 test/200 primo a week thats about 80 dollars a month. I can buy cheaper test but the going rate for primo is 140+ cad a vial right now.

abeblinkin's picture

On top of supplements I’d also set money aside for pre and post cycle labs.

In a promo × 1
Aggieguy's picture

Test is a must if you are doing anything at all with gear its is the must for a base of any cycle. Then you will need an Ai on hand so Test and an Ai is really all you need especially if you are staying on it for life like your own TRT. Test is also all you need to build muscle, you do not need any other type of gear to be jacked.
