Bloodwork issues

ad

So this morning I went for bloodwork and a few hours later they call me, the guy ask, " have you ever been told your platelets clump?" and he said that the sample is no good because my platelets clumped so I have to go back in and do it again but this time they have to use a different collection tube. Has this happened to anyone else before? and does this mean that MY blood is the problem or the tube was the issue. At first, I thought he meant they fucked up but then when I was off the phone I was thinking about it and the way he asked me if I ever been told that my platelets clump kinda threw me off, like is he saying I have some kind of condition that causes this to happen or something. Im super worried now, because I was already worried about kidneys and my blood and stuff, because my circulation is bad, I seem to be holding more water then usual in my face and stuff, I've been getting cramps, not really cramps but just like a tightening in my muscles but not as bad as a cramp idk, if that makes any sense. and all of those things can be signs of kidney issues and my mom texts me like every day with some new condition that she swears I have lol. and also like a year ago the hospital gave me a medicine that i had a bad reaction to and cause my platelet count to drop crazy low, over the next week or so it came back up to normal and they said I was fine, but it was never really looked at again. So I got my doc to order a bunch of test to see if something is wrong or at least just put my mind at ease. All of these things could literally be nothing but l dont want to be in my thirties on fucking dialysis because I didn't feel like getting bloodwork. But ya let me know if you've had this happen when getting bloodwork done, thanks fellas.

So Update guys: I was the issue. I guess some people just have this issue. He gave me this card to show the lab technicians in the future when I get blood work done that says my blood clumps and to use a different type collection tube or whatever. What's weird to me though is why I've never had this problem in the past. Ive had blood drawn at least 50 times from all my tests and shit over the course of my medical nightmare. Thanks for everyone's input and Stay hydrated fellas!

I think it is a polite way of them saying "we fucked up in the lab" Lol but don't want to admit to it.

Ya im hoping it was just a problem with the collection tube thing. I did it at the hospital so they have their own lab to do all the testing right there so it was being tested probably within 2 hours of taking the sample. I'm going back in the morning and I'm seeing the same guy who called me today so ill figure out what happened I just hope I'm not dying lol. or need blood transfusions or dialysis or some shit. I thought maybe he didn't know what caused the problem and thats why he asked if it's ever been an issue before, like maybe it can be a clotting issue or an issue with the tube and they dont know which it was. And good point about not taking anything, maybe i shouldn't take an aspirin before.

Blood is probably to thick. When's last time you donated? We're you well hydrated? Cramping etc sounds like an electrolyte issue. I'd drop a baby aspirin before you do blood work again.

Ya im definitely not WELL hydrated, I drink like a liter a day which I know is not enough. I mean idk if it helps but I have about a half gallon of milk everyday too. I was thinking the same thing with the aspirin too.

I would hydrate before you go and see if that makes a difference. Get at least four water bottles in you 45 min prior to getting blood pulled.
That's a lot of milk lol. Like stated above could be lab fuck up or your blood could be thick. Did they have a hard time drawing it?

oh ya they had a terrible time. They always do, dude ended up finding a good vein in my shoulder and it was super slow it took like 4 mins to fill the two tubes. I have the veins of an old lady, you cant see them at all on me and the needle just like destroys them, they blow up and like die and bruise all around it just from them poking it. Im guuna have to get supper shredded and drink a gallon of water everyday for like 6 months and then hopefully ill get some veins to start popping.

The nurses' eyes get big and light up and they think it is their birthday when they get to see all the veins they can pick and choose on me. My wife wanted me to be a test dummy for the new EMT's so they could practice putting IV's into me. Wasn't up for that one though Lol

They see me and roll their eyes and try and pawn me off on another nurse lol

They took a pic of my arms in the ER the other day.....no shit, she was teaching an IV class the next day ROFL
She said those veins are bigger than the dummy arms they give us.

Ok you definitely need to hydrate before going. Let's get checked first and see what's going on. There's plenty of things you can do naturally for better blood flow, but getting this blood work is the most important thing.

I hope you get this cleared up. Ignore your momma and her Munchausen by Proxy lol. Something about the older people only wanting to talk about there ails ya know? Drink water my dude. Take some potassium or make half strength Gatorade. I drink a gallon of water every day before I even hit the gym wake up at 0700 to take kids to school gym at 1415 religiously. I always know if I'm not hydrating enough by two ways. One is if I can curl my toes without restriction and two if I can get my wedding ring on and off my finger without significant resistance. Seriously once I can get that ring off I'm officially free and can hit the gym like a player. Try getting a canister of Gatorade powder and making some half strength drink every 1 of 3 quarts. For every glass of milk follow with the same of water. You're retaining water and getting puffy because you aren't consuming enough. Like the Water Boy said "that's some high quality H2O!" For sure see a doc but I think you'll be okie dokie. If you have ever had kidney issues it can be felt. A weird pressure on either side of the body and your piss will be stinky and dark. An informed decision can be made by the cloudiness of your piss.

Ya My cardiologist is trying to figure out why I'm holding water, and ya im having some type of electrolyte/ hydration issue I just don't know if that's all that's going on or something else. I really gotta drink more, I either focus on getting enough protein, enough calories, or enough water, I just cant seem to get all three in one day lol. I have hard time getting in enough calories so adding in a gallon of water really destroys my appetite. And that's good to know because my piss is fine and I don't feel anything physically around my kidneys so that's cool, Thanks man

Get a good electrolyte powder and add it to your water.
