Testosterone 9.5nmol/L uk help

ad

47 dont smoke not used test. My test in march was 11nmol and shbg was 34 and after checking a couple of days ago its 9.5nmol and shbg is 28. Would i need trt? Lately legs hurt and back hurts dont know if its to do with the testosterone erections not as strong as well as lack of libido. Doctor would not do anything last time except give blue pills which i refused. Does anyone know a reputable private doctor i could visit? Also bone mass has decreased.

I’m uk mate but all would be able to recommend would be common sense. Ask to see another GP for a second opinion, come armed with your blood results, a detailed list of what’s wrong and how it’s been effecting your life. Ask to be referred to see a endocrinologist or similar.

In the mean time I would improve your diet if it’s lacking healthy fats, complex carbs and high proteins. Improve your sleep schedule and hygiene, increase cardio, lift weights, work on area of your mental health and all the normal things to keep yourself in tip top condition, it’s been really shit for everyone during this pandemic and most have taken a hit in self care. If you need help post up your current diet and workout routine and I’m sure one of the lads like Rusty would be able to point you in the right direction.

Most normal people will have some visceral fat mate, unless you're genetically gifted, 99% of the time the only way to not have a little fat is to smash cardio every day, measure/weight everything you put in your mouth and eat in a deficit (not what men’s health has you believe) which people rarely do especially if you’re a social drinker. Nothing wrong with drinking, we all have our vices, I fucking love having the best looking lawn in the local area, I spend at least an hour a week working on the front lawn in season, my missus thinks I’m bonkers but I get a huge buzz from getting that 7x6 area of grass looking like fucking Wembley.

There’s so many variables here mate that’s an impossible question to answer. One thing is for sure, if you follow my advice it gives you a better chance of your levels coming back naturally.

Without sounding like a dick I get the impression you’re looking for an easy fix and would rather not pursue a healthy life style, rather live the dream and stick a pin in your arse once a week and feel great. Unfortunately this isn’t the case mate, TRT won’t make you feel great unless you address the other areas in your life which need improving.

Have you worked out, followed a healthy diet plan and eaten a surplus consistently? Where you count macros, use progressive overload in your workouts and keep the intensity high? I’m not convinced with your claim of “trying everything” I understand this can be harder with slightly lower levels as you have (they aren’t that low) but plenty of lads I know on a TRT forum have had levels in the gutter and following the standard protocol which I recommended you have improved them greatly and now feel great.

Diet, hydration, sleep, mental health and exercise. Get to work improving these things mate, if you’re levels haven’t improved by the time you pull bloods again you’ve not lost anything, only gained improving your life style.

Post your current diet mate and although I’m not a wizz on eating I’ll see where we can make some improvements. If you don’t have a diet plan in place no problem, post up what you would eat during the average day, be honest, no judgment.
