+ 11 Self Prescribed Cruise
Hey friends. I’m sharing this story in hopes that it can help other men who might be where I was just last year.
(Here’s a good old fashioned disclaimer.) "I’m not a doctor, nor do I play one on tv!" Lads, take my words for what they’re worth: words from a long winded dude who thinks YOU should make decisions based on YOUR situation, loaded with all of the info you can get, based on many opinions, most of which should be professional in nature. Onto the post.
I have been on a self prescribed testosterone cypionate cruise for the past year.
I’m currently 39, about to turn 40 next summer. All through my 20s & 30s, I’ve lifted consistently. The gym has been my mental release, and even though I haven’t cleared a ruck or pushed around a defensive lineman for over twenty years, I still do deadlifts and squats like I’m about to play in the Super Bowl.
Rewind to January of 2015. I was 38 years old with two young boys under the age of 3. I felt like my “vitality” had been slipping through my early 30s, but by the time kiddos entered my life, the slope seemed to get steeper. Sleep deprivation from babies took it’s toll and only added to my lethargy. It was awful. To add to that, I work manual labor, I travel a lot, and work keeps me up “late” a few nights a week, so I have no “set schedule” regarding meal times, sleep times, etc.
I honestly wondered if I had a disease. I sucked up my pride and went to the doc. They did blood tests and my testosterone came back at 321. (No clue what my “free T” was at that point, or my estrogen, cuz I didn’t know that I should be asking those questions then.) That was the first time I had ever heard the dreaded term, “low testosterone.” Other than that, I had no pathogens, no cancer, “thyroid looked fine,” liver numbers were normal, etc, I just had low T.
My doc referred me to an endocrinologist. He made me jump through a few hoops (even MORE blood tests, etc) and after more than 2,000 bucks out of pocket and three months worth of “consultations,” he declined putting me on TRT.
I tried every route to boost my testosterone naturally. All of it. More deadlifts. More meat & veggies, less bread. Zero booze. I don’t smoke, but I simply steered clear of being around smoke from smokers & tokers. I slept as much as possible. Another touted way to boost natural testosterone is to have "meaningful sex," not just yank it to porn. I’ve never been a porn kinda guy, but I stopped masturbating completely. My wife has always been good to me, so she obliged. I took over the counter test boosters. I increased my intake of vitamin D, fish oil, etc. I tanned at a salon to try to boost vitamin D, no shit! Best I could, I tried to think positive, lower stress, stretch and relax, etc.
After six months of that, I got my testosterone up in the low 400s, but I still felt very, very broken. Nothing worked. My body is simply fast tracked for decreasing testosterone production. Yay genetics! Dammit.
A google search for “low testosterone” led me to a few mens lifting forums. I had read an article on another forum which had planted the seed in my brain that maybe I could use 10mg of dianabol a day “as a supplement to diet & exercise” and maybe, just maybe, I could avoid needles. I thought, “there’s GOTTA be an oral steroid that can help me with my general health! This is it!”
This is the kind of nonsense that other forums talk about. At that time, I had no experience at all with AAS, TRT, etc, so when I read this stuff, I assumed these folks knew what they were talking about.
Well, I’m glad I kept researching and asked around on a few other forums, which I was glad when some people pointed me to this forum in late spring of 2015.
This is where my true eroids education began.
Now, if you are a man with low T and you’re reading this, hear me now.
Dianabol, or any other oral AAS, isn’t testosterone. Our bodies are wired for test, not any other AAS.
The fellas here at eroids LET ME HAVE IT when I asked about that dumb idea to use 10mg d-bol as a supplement while having low T. I was taken aback by the candid flaming I received, but I opened my mind and listened. Over a few months of research on eroids, it finally got through my brain:
THERE IS NO MAGIC PILL.
I was hopeless and really wanted to learn all I could, so I worked really hard to keep my mind open to what the vets here were willing to teach.
I had low T, and the only thing that would help me was testosterone, end of story.
I decided that I would pursue self medicating, even though many vets here encouraged me to exhaust every avenue before simply pinning myself without doctor supervision. I listened, weighed my options, and wisely chose to research as much as I could before jumping the gun.
Eroids taught me everything I thought I needed to know about TRT and AAS.
1. What & where to buy testosterone, needles & syringes.
2. Proper procedure and smart hygiene for injection.
3. How to get blood work, interpret it, at 1/5th the cost of my doc’s office.
4. How to research, research, research.
By the time I pulled the trigger on my own self cruise, I had learned as much as I could without actually just taking the plunge.
If you’re judging me at this point in the story, I don’t blame you. “Zeus, you were (and still are) being reckless.” Yes, perhaps I was (am). In my mind, I knew the proper dose, the proper procedure (hygiene is SO IMPORTANT) and the ramifications of my actions if I screwed up. I figured I was “ready”, and I was willing TO TRY ANYTHING TO GET MY LIFE BACK. However, friends, please understand that I’m well aware that my decision was made from a point of physical, mental, and emotional brokenness. I’m not asking for pity. Far from it. I’m sharing where I was in hopes that other men reading this might relate and take what I have to say to heart.
Friends, I was DESPERATE. Literally. I was lethargic, mentally foggy, unmotivated, sore as fuck all the time, and I felt hopeless. I made the decision to pin myself with that first shot of test cyp because, fuck it, the positive consequences HAVE to outweigh the negative, and it HAS to be better than feeling whipped, busted up and lethargic.
It took everything I could do to administer that first pin. I damn near cried, my nerves were shot, and I pussed out a few times before finally gathering up the courage to do it. After more than twenty minutes of stupid nerves, I finally got the courage to pierce my skin with that needle.
I injected the oil into my glute, pulled the needle out, and wiped the area with a clean alcohol pad. I’d done it. That wasn’t so bad now, was it? Oof. It was awful. I was a wreck, but I had hope.
The next week was still a nerve wracking experience to pin that week’s dose, as was the following, but by the fourth week, it wasn’t as bad because I could feel the effects already. I was feeling better by the day.
Sadly, and I mean this, SADLY, it was exactly the medicine my body needed. It was sad because, Zeus Marada, the hardest working Greek Mexican you fuckers have ever met, legitimately now knows that I suffer from having low T. (Please don’t think I equate my own “suffering” to that of others who’ve TRULY suffered. Even in my lowest state of being, I'm blessed compared to much of humanity. But lads, low T sucks.)
I got my first blood test after six weeks of pinning, and it said I was high (around 1,200) so I backed off my dose from 200mg test cyp to 100mg test cyp. Blood tests since then have shown I’m at 750 at the end of a week after a pin, which for how I felt and how I wanted to live, that number is perfect.
So here I am, benefiting from this medicine immensely. I sleep more soundly, better than I have in a decade. I wake up much more rested now, and after a cup of coffee, I’m ready to rock. My chest and shoulders had been perpetually sore for years. Within two full months, they weren’t perpetually sore anymore. They were healed and strong. The lethargy went away. The mental fog has lifted. I can remember where I put my car keys, and I’ll be at the store, rack my brain, and remember to purchase items that my wife has told me to get. Holy moly, I’d forgotten what morning wood felt like, but now I was experiencing it daily. Unreal.
All of this from a measly low dose of 100mg per week of test cyp (.5mg of 200mg/ml).
When people ask me how I’m doing now, I tell them, “I’m great.” But not cuz, “I’m great! Unicorns and rainbows great!” Nope. No euphoria. Testosterone has given me zero euphoria. It’s simply healed me.
Testosterone is powerful. I now understand why men choose to abuse it instead of using it intelligently.
Let’s face it. Filling a syringe with oil that was brewed by a complete stranger whom I had an anonymous transaction with online, then injecting it into my body in hopes that I’ll “be healthier,” simply isn’t the smartest thing to do. However, armed with confidence from this site, I did just that, and it has changed my life for the better.
(Again, my eternal thanks to eroids for providing a platform for communication between sources and their customers, as well as giving members a voice to help each other.)
POSITIVES:
1. If I crush a workout, I simply am sore for a day or two, then healed.
2. I sleep like the dead and wake up much more refreshed.
3. My sex life has benefitted.
4. My mental lethargy is gone.
5. I can work as hard as I want, be dog tired, and know that I’ll recover in a day or two.
NEGATIVES:
1. I sweat a lot at night, when previously, I didn’t.
2. PIP sucks (it’s not awful, but it can annoy a fella)
3. Constant stabbing sucks (I’ve done four blood tests in ten months, three blood donations, & weekly pins)
4. “Stress” from buying AI’s, test, pins, etc, and hoping packages don’t get seized, etc.
5. Worrying about my kids one day finding a bunch of needles, vials, etc.
6. Deflecting social comments like, “Zeus, are you on steroids or something?”
7. The ever present possibility of law enforcement fines someday, etc.
8. (edit) HAVING to donate blood when BP & RBCs get high.
My wife knows and is “supportive,” but I have a separate bank account that I use to purchase bitcoin, etc, that all of my cash from side work goes into. She’s never seen me pin, nor does she know where any of my stuff is, but I keep her in the loop. I initially stressed a lot about telling her my decision to start pinning, but ultimately, she trusts that I’m not impulsive and that I think things through. That’s a lot of trust. She’s been cool, and I’m a lucky man.
I’ll tell my boys someday as well, but fuck, I hope with all of my might that they didn’t inherit my “low T genes.” Weekly pinning is literally a pain in the ass.
My next doc appointment isn’t until next May. I’ll be telling my doc everything, including bringing in all blood tests, and if my doc isn’t on board, I dump that doc and hire a new one. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.
Regarding my cruise: It’s a blessing and a curse. I’m healed. Sweet! The downside is that I now need that medicine to simply feel “normal.” Not sweet. I don’t wish that kind of dependence on anyone.
If you truly NEED testosterone to counteract low T and you’ve exhausted your options to boost it natty, be forewarned, this is a life sentence.
Proceed with caution, and heed the warnings that this community will openly share with you.
Lastly, brothers, I mean this: please know that you’re not alone. I felt alone, foolishly. I wasn’t. You’re not either.
Be wise and be open to the words of the men and women here who will walk with you through your questions, struggles, and education. I can’t pay anyone back for their kindness and time they’ve given me here, but I can pay it forward.

Wow Zues. This was an amazing, extremely well written post. I wish I could convey my thoughts so well. Are you now getting your T from a regular doctor? I'm thinking of doing it myself. I obviously been advised against it. Where did you get your bloods? What did you test for? I'm 40 and I'm right where you are without help.
Hey brother, I am still self prescribed cruise for now. I don't know when I'll go to the doc about this. I was supposed to have a doc's appointment in May but I canceled for whatever reason, and I haven't rescheduled. Honestly, the next time I visit my doc, this will be discussed.
I paid a lot of money out of my own pocket (regardless of my "good insurance") and it really scalded me to costs associated with our US health care system. Sadly, it's SO MUCH CHEAPER to self cruise. I mean it when I say, THIS IS SAD. The system hand cuffs doctors, benefits pharmaceutical companies, and ultimately it's the patients who get fucked in the end. SAD is an understatement.
Having said all of that, yup, it's better to have a doc on board always. I will continue to self cruise, even with my doc's knowledge, but I might start using pharmaceutical test so I can at least have a script (prescription). This makes it "legit" in the eyes of the law, of course.
Now, I don't advocate anyone, AT ALL, to be reckless with AAS. I came here with an open mind and was taught the REAL dangers of AAS, not the bullshit the media spews to us all day. Armed with this knowledge and the confidence of this site, I took a chance on my cruise. So far, it's changed my life for the better, but it aint all roses.
I am a firm believer that YOU are the only person in control of your OWN health. YOU choose your own path. If you choose to follow in the footsteps of others, heed their warnings wisely, including mine. You'll have your own problems, but at least it'll be brand new problems as opposed to avoidable ones, let alone they won't be the life threatening problems that are very real when AAS is abused or misused.
Feel free to PM me if you'd like. I have many suggestions on how to try and boost your test naturally before you go to "the dark side." I skipped trying clomid, nolva and HCG cuz I was fucking desperate. If I could go back, knowing what I know now about weekly pinning (it SUCKS) and such, I'd certainly be more apt to not just pin my body with oils. But we can't go back. No use beating myself up.
Rooting for you, and all the men out there with this plight. It sucks, big time, and the medicine (test) is very powerful. It simply isn't a free ticket to paradise. It has it's price. For me, SO FAR, it's been "worth it" because I can't let myself go back to feeling like I felt. The insecurity, the lethargy, the mental fog, it was fucking awful. So, this is my plight. If my story can help you and other men in our situation, I'm glad I can share.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and for opening yourself up to criticism and judgement. I think this should be a reference for people to look at, especially the younger members for when they are making bad choices that exponentially increase the risk for causing themselves to head toward self induced low test and a damaged HPTA. I respect that you exhausted just about every option before turning to cruising. Just make sure you stay strong and perhaps consider going the actual TRT route to have a doctor oversee you.
+1
I realize I became the thing I hate, a Hypocrite. I hate when people try and tell me how to run my life and me calling you out was becoming as such. Whatever choice you make in your life you have to live with as it would not be my choice. People here come and go very fast; we have true trt people and we have self medicators. We have bodybuilders and we have gym rats. We have preachers that parrot and still have the same stats from many years ago when they joined. We have followers and leaders. I was never a follower and its what always puts me out of the "friend zone." I am a junkie. I am an adrenaline junkie and a testosterone junkie. Without either one I would be depressed. I self medicate with caffeine and dhma/dmha.
I take weekly shots of testosterone because at 44 years old the choices I made in my youth fucked my future i.e drugs and alcohol and leading a very promiscuous life. I am now a TRT needle slave til the day I stop and that really pisses me off. I saw friends overdose right in front of me and nothing I could do to keep them alive. I watched friends get killed. I am bleeding my old friends still to this day as this year alone I lost 3 from back home. I watched cancer eat apart my relatives. I grew up in a city where you fight to live and live to fight. I do not believe in a higher power even though I went to catholic school for half of my life. I went to college and got out of the lifestyle that was going nowhere and learned. I am still an angry person with anger issues that no therapist has been able to overcome. It does not condone my behavior but it puts it into perspective. I will no longer be a hypocrite here. I will stop being passive agressive. Good luck in your endeavors and be healthy, health is all you really have in this world that is yours. The only thing in this world you have mastery over is yourself.
Hey Mack, I've not directly communicated with you before but I've seen a lot of your posts. You going out on a limb here and sharing some deep facts about your past says a lot and it makes sense why you clearly have little patience at times, whether youre in the right or wrong.
I can relate to many of the things you have mentioned here. Thanks for sharing and its great to be part of a community that includes people to relate to in some sort of way. Stay strong, brother.
Will you PM me some more info on DHMA/dmha. Did a Google search but couldn't find anything concrete.
"The only thing in this world you have mastery over is yourself." +1
@IrishMack, when I finally came to that conclusion in my own life, it gave me the confidence to pursue a solution to my own "quality of life issues." I didn't jump into a self prescribed cruise blindly. I admit, I did have a blind hope that it would help, but I had no imaginary thinking that it would be the best thing ever. I knew this because of people on this site who openly shared their own experiences.
We all walk different roads, but we're all trying to get to the same place. We want confidence, acceptance, and the thrill of being alive. For me, I've made my choice, armed with the best information I have, most of which has come from this community. I know the consequences, both positive and negative. I'm no hero, nor am I the enemy. I'm a dude, trying like hell to balance my marriage, family, work, recreation, all while trying to embrace good health. Some days are easy. Other days are misery. For me, my choice to go on a self prescribed cruise radically changed my "health" for the better, but yes, it has it's negative consequences too. This is why I will continue to share my own experiences with this community, in hopes that it can help other men who find themselves in similar circumstances.
Society trained me that "steroids are bad." This site taught me the truth. Steroids aren't good, and steroids aren't bad. Steroids are a tool to supplement diet, exercise and rest. If used properly, you can mitigate the negatives. If abused, you can really fuck yourself up.
@IrishMack, it's clear that you care. I'm a total stranger, and you have zero emotion in real life invested into me. However, you clearly don't want to see me fuck up my health. (I assure you, that's the last thing I want too.) Brother, thank you. Seriously.
You can say that you are "an angry person with anger issues," but it's cuz you've seen some really sad shit. You're in a place where you can help people avoid sad shit in their own lives, including me. What you are willing to share & teach, I'm willing to listen, and not because of some bullshit "we're all in the same community!" platitude. Fuck that. You're a real dude who's been through some real shit. Me too. My last sentiment of my post wasn't just lip service. We're not alone. This community may consist of "anonymous brothers," but we're certainly not alone. I'm grateful that we have eroids. I'd be fucked without this place. Hell, a lot of us would be.
Good read, thanks for sharing. Im your age, so can relate on many levels. +1
Keep an eye on your blood pressure and blood thickness. I tried the self TRT thing for about two years. 125mg A week, although with blasts in between and I ended up on blood pressure meds. My blood got so thick that I couldn't even donate blood. I'm almost 44 so I know how you feel but I found out its A dangerous game to self medicate. I have been off everything now for nine weeks and feel surprisingly ok.
+1 on this nugget, too. Blood pressure, and RBC count (red blood cell) is so important.
I donate every three months, for two reasons. First, I have noticed my BP as well as RBC rise a little, not a lot, but enough that donating helps with both. Secondly, for my own personal altruistic reasons. (I don't know the reality of where my blood goes, but I simply "hope" I'm helping people that need it.
Yes, it is indeed a dangerous game to self medicate. I don't suggest it to anyone. I'm getting yet another blood test next week to keep an eye on things. Sure, I feel better, but data doesn't lie.
How does testosterone circulate through your body? Blood. What happens when you give blood? You take the test out of your system. What happens when the body sees either a rapid increase or decrease in chemicals? Compensation in one way or another. When was your last bloods taken and what was yohr test level and e2 as well as ldl and hdl? What about ast or alt? 100mg a week would put you at about 500-650. Dont take this the wrong way but you sound like a junkie, to me if you are not competing or do not have a script you are a junkie. 321-400 is not bad numbers and actually decent for your age. My friend up north had his checkup and his test level was 380 and he trains, looks better then me and he is only an inch taller. alcohics believe they cant function without a couple drinks every day.
Wow a negative 4, I hurt a couple peoples feelings. Im so sorry my opinion mixed with fact is hurtful to some people. I should have just agreed and drank the koolaid. I bet the ones who did neg me are the 160 pound 250 a week cruisers that are under 30 years old and 6'.
I negged you. I cruise 50mg E3D, sub 180 test levels naturally. My stats are accurate. You need to get off your high horse. My neg is for the use of junkie. It's fucking disrespectful.
And I've only negged 25 times in four years.
Here I was thinking you were on a script. But I see that if my opinion is not of the masses I am disrespectful. You got me so everyone wins.
I am legit. Doesn't mean that the use of junkie isn't offensive. This guy made an informed decision that is going to bite him in the ass trying to go legit. I know this cause I've been there. Doesn't justify calling him a junkie.
@IrishMack, you might be right. I don't feel like I'm a junkie, and I certainly am not obsessive about my "use." I don't "dread" my use, but I certainly don't like it. But fuck, I've never considered your angle, so you damn well may be right, fuck if I know. I'm still no fan of needles, and I have a weird "hate" for the fact that testosterone makes me feel better. I wish I felt this good, natty. I don't. So I'm the guy that get's to play that game in my head, "this is a gamble that is going my way, but at anytime could go bad."
If you read my post and you sense arrogance, or think that I'm glorifying testosterone use in any way, I apologize. I've failed so fucking much in my life that I have no pride. I only have a desire to be better, and to help others to achieve the same. I'm the first guy that will say, if you can feel better without test, don't chain yourself to this fate. (It's helped me, but going forward, as I incorporate my doc into my decision, I'm well aware of the life sentence of my choice.)
Giving blood so far has emotionally made me feel good. I used to donate once a year anyways, but now that this is on my mind, it's been easy to say, "well, it's been three months, might as well donate anyways." My blood pressure used to be 110/70, like clockwork, and now is 120/80 whenever I check it at the local grocery store pharmacy. I'm twenty pounds heavier than I used to be, so the extra body fat and bloat doesn't help either. (That's my next hurdle to jump.) I feel fine one way or another, but obviously I haven't gotten blood tests before & after donating to see if it's doing anything to my testosterone. I typically donate in the morning, then pin the next day. For the first time in a year, I "feel stable," and the few blood tests I've done have shown the same, but again, without blood work data after I donate, I'm simply going off of how I "feel," which we all know can be deceiving.
As for alcoholism, I understand that analogy very well.
Regarding physique, I've always been "sorta big," but that's just cuz I'm a typical mesomorph who lifts way more than the normal non athlete, not to mention I eat like I'm still a teenager. (That has caught up to me in my life, and is the next thing that I'm really working on. Diet.) Since I really don't care if I ever get 17 inch arms, I've never tried. I'm old, and I've built the life I wanna live. I'm not even coming close to saying it's a perfect life, but it's mine, and I defend it voraciously.
Lastly, my number as of my last T test was over 400. I felt like dog shit. My dad is in his mid 60s, and his was 550 on his last checkup. He's feeling old, but he still is strong as shit.
@IrishMack, did I give up too early and try "the easy way out?" I don't know. Dude, I was so low for so long that I was hopeless. This idea (of "TRT") was the only solution I could see that might work. I took the decision to go this on a personal journey. It worked. At what cost? I don't know yet, but you can damn well bet I'll be sharing the goods, bads, and uglies with this site to help others make smarter decisions.
You seem like a smart guy, think about it for a few minutes. Exhausting every avenue is what my endo did with me, we did Clomid and it worked for a while got me back to 450. We stopped it and after a month I tanked again. He even crashed my estro twice to try and get my balls to produce and it failed. I lost weight and it helped me get some of it back but only rose from my initial 200 to 250. It took over a fkn year of ups and downs before I was finally put on a script since no matter what he tried we ended up still lower then the cutoff which is 320 BTW. I fought tooth and nail to get my own shit producing because I was told its a point of no return and forever or until I just dont feel like doing it anymore. I am getting a new consult in a few months to go on the pellet system so no more injections for me. When I hit 36 years old I did not feel run down or tired or could not have sex, I just gained weight rapidly, I also was not training and had a desk job. I thought it was my thyroid at 1st and never even thought to look at test levels. I blame that on all the pharmacies with their commercials telling everyone that they must have low t if they are tired or unable to perform in the bedroom. The problem being is anyone who has done even the smallest watching automatically ASSumed it meant them so when they saw their endo and was told they were normal they didn't even bother to look elsewhere and just start ordering aas. Signs of low T are also signs of thyroid, depression, obesity, anxiety, among other things.
Having your voice of experience and warning to other men as they research is a tremendous value here. If I could go back, I'd to a lot differently. I'm certain WE ALL would make different choices. I didn't have the experience to know, "just PM people directly and ask." Or rather, "insist more intensive data be gathered via blood tests, a month or two apart at similar times, etc." Hell, if I could go back, I would've never dated my college girlfriend and I would've tried like hell to bang her horny roommate instead. Alas, youth is wasted on the young.
For men reading this thread and all the comments, heed the thoughts above. There can be a lot more going on than just simple "low T." Honestly, maybe there was/is something other than low T in my case. I simply know that I feel a shit ton better, and I've done my best to mitigate side effects or simply live with them. Is this the right choice? Again, I don't know yet. For now? Yes, I've made the right choice. At what long term cost? I truly don't know yet, but I will be sharing successes and failures along the way to help others, no doubt.
If anyone has questions regarding TRT, or a cruise, be sure to PM any member with questions (all of us). Get multiple views and opinions, and remember, regardless of the medical system's flaws and costs, it's still the best we've got. Don't discount it, if possible.
Wtf? Junkie? Wow, not the impression I got at all. "If you are not competing or do not have a script you are a junkie" Complete BS. Pretty sure Ill ignore anything you post from now on after reading this garbage. 90% of eroid members are junkies? Good day Sir.
Well sorry the truth hurts, you do not have low t, so therefore you are self medicating, hence junkie. Ignore everything I write and thats fine, people who do what you do even with a long winded explanation, is why aas gets a bad name. And also negging me because you dont agree with what I say is pretty childish.
DeQuan JaBootyBS bro. Those test numbers the 300-400s that the FDA use are bullshit. Those are "medically acceptable", not optimal.
If you go a doc that cares about men or a clinic that specializes in vitality/hormones/HRT however you want go phrase it, they will have you near 1000 ng/dl.
If you accept 300 because someone told you it was sufficient you're just a sheep bro. Go read some medical literature or make an appointment with a legit HRT specialist and your tune will change.
I'm not attacking you because I disagree, it's because you are misinformed at this point in time and listening to such bullshit pisses me off.
Plus 1 alot of it is relative and depends on if you are symptomatic.while zeus's numbers look decent on paper in practice all the things he described were not so much.
LMAO I am on doctor prescribed TRT so he told me those numbers and showed me the cutoff range when I had my bloods drawn for the 1st time so call all the endos full of shit BRO. You know what else is funny? I have a new Endo and he told me they are going to increase the cutoff in the next 2 years by 50-75nl. Almost 400nl pretty soon is the minimum or you can kick rocks. If you go to a clinic that specializes in vitality and hormones they want your money and do not give shit about anything else. I live in a state where if you have money they will prescribe you anything you want for any fkn reason. Why do you think they are so expensive? A 10ml vial of test through your magic clinic costs 500.00 versus my 55.00 Watson test from my prescription. Initial consult at your magic clinic is 500-750.00 depending on what you are looking for. They are licensed drug dealers. I'm not attacking you because I disagree, it's because you are misinformed at this point in time and listening to such bullshit pisses me off.
Wrong a 10ml bottle of test from a compounding pharmacy/ online clinic is approximately $120 and lasts 3 months. Some of these clinics have the ability to prescribe hcg and many other things and to imply that they are "drug dealers" makes you look foolish chances are some of these online clinics (I can think of one in particular) know things your endo does not. You do not have a clue
Mack is correct. He's referring to a clinic that you physically attend. I'm sure the costs vary, but the consultations are expensive as well as the meds. Those places only make $ if they retain you as a client, so I'm sure most people who go there will "qualify". That's different than a GP who's reluctant to prescribe. It's kind of like going to your reg doc and asking for oxys. He won't do it (usually) unless there is a reason. But, you can hit up a half dozen "script writers" in town and get whatever you want.
You are correct as well. Online clinics are going to be cheaper, but it's kind of the same principal. You're probably going to get a script because that's what they are in business for. Not every single case I'm sure.
DeQuan JaBootyThe OP increased the quality of his life and you call him a junkie...
You may be afraid to think and research on your own but others are not and that doesn't make them junkies.
You might take your docs advice as gospel and cower at the thought of taking matters into your own hands but others will not.
In no way, shape or form am I conveying that people should just buy shit off the internet to treat themselves of medical maladies but in some cases it is necessary.
Just because you don't have the balls to do it doesn't make those that do "junkies".
I wont argue with you, the koolaid you drink is way too harsh for my blood. I have been thinking and researching stuff that interests me since I was a little boy. I have researched aas so fkn much that I can recite the carbon chains. Dont come at me like I cower over anything I take medical text and 7 different endos that came up with the same conclusions as gospal, not broscience bullshit that you follow. I wont share your koolaid so I am done.
You have not shared with us your vast wisdom at all since you joined here now I can see why. Please provide some insight?
Negs are here for a reason, and if not used are worthless. More to do with your delivery than agreeance with your statements. Im sure you will survive the neg. And no, I dont agree with you at all. The notion that competitors are excluded from the "self medicating, junkie" community is just as silly as the rest of your post.
Ill agree to disagree. Your opinion is yours. Good day.
Other men will certainly make the choice to self medicate. It might help them, it might kill them. The more information we can share, both positive and negative, the better fighting chance we all have of keeping each other healthy.
My decision to forgo the medical system was my choice and mine alone. I'll bare the consequences, and again, I'll share my journey so others can make informed decisions.
And if/when they do I hope they do it wisely. For the record, I do not self or doc administered trt.
This is well laid out with everything you've dealt with over the last year. +1 for openly discussing this knowing what some vets might say. Glad you're feeling better brother
Every vet told me the same thing, whether on PM or in the open forums. Every single voice was the same. "Do TRT as a last resort. Exhaust all avenues before you curse yourself to the pin." They were right. And I feel as honestly as possible, I really did exhaust every avenue (besides a novla/clomid run, or HCG, but that'd be temporary too).
the worst part is the brain fog/fatigue imo. Thanks for sharing bro trt is a whole nother animal.. bio-identical hormone replacement can a tricky thing even for some dr's. Plus 1 I like how you did the pro's and con's.
Pm sent about alternative to your endo to consider to you may or may not heard.
@twistedsister, thank you for your PM. And honestly, I plan to be 100% legit TRT at some point in the "near future" (next May? earlier?) now that I know my quality of life was directly a result of low T. The mental fog was SO MADDENING. My biggest fear about being in my senior years is, I hope I don't lose my mental cognition.
Regarding "PROS & CONS," there are both. I want men to know this and go in with their eyes wide open, as opposed to the "magic pill" (or in this case, "magic needle") mentality. It's all work, but it's worth it in the right contexts. In the wrong contexts, it can be disastrous. Just read a few of the horror stories here about gyno, heart problems, etc.
Going legit at this point is going to be taxing on you. You're going to have to crash your levels and wait for your LSH and FH to start signaling again before a doctor prescribes it for you.
I've considered this. If I have to go that route, it'll certainly suck. When my endo said, "no TRT" last spring (of 2015) I simply didn't have enough education about AAS or TRT to even know what questions I SHOULD ask, let alone to "insist we try the TRT route," just to see. Of course, now I know, it's not just "something you try." It's a fucking life sentence. Sure, it has it's goods and bads, but it's still for life, I know that now.
My other hope is, perhaps, online TRT clinics. Again, I don't jump into anything, so I'm simply researching.
In all honesty, I hope that when I'm straight up honest with my doc next summer, I'm hoping it all goes "fine," and doc agrees to simply work with me. (Eroids has more collective knowledge than my doc does regarding TRT, etc, so for now, I'm in good hands. I'm trying not to be "reckless." I simply wanna be the healthiest version of me that I can be, and having professional advice & help is a good way to achieve that goal.)
Any medical professional I have seen regarding TRT wants blood work to show it is justified. You simply don't have that to provide. If you go explaining your self prescribed TRT regime, then they will want you to come off to obtain the blood work to justify it. However, since you've been using exogenous testosterone, they aren't going to settle for the first blood test that shows active LH FSH. They are going to keep you off for months. Most won't even give you clomid during this because it isn't justified yet. I've even had my endo try to take me off with blood work on file justifying replacement therapy. It is a rough world out their in TRT land.
There are the TRT clinics as you wrote. They are costly but at least you're administering it legally.
@PEZ, This is really good input for those out there considering the route I've chosen. For all I know, when I choose to try to incorporate "the medical establishment" into my choice, it may be easy or it may be hell. Honestly, I have no clue, but I'm inclined to listen to the voices here on eroids.
I'm guessing it'll be sadly difficult.
Bummer. Not cuz, "bummer, dude" in some sort of cavalier "I don't give a fuck" way, but rather, I'm sad that this is the state of our medical establishment. Instead of US being in charge, having them HELP us, we are at THEIR mercy, doing what THEY tell us, whether it be the right thing to do or not.
In NO WAY AM I SAYING I'M DOING "THE RIGHT THING" by self medicating. Self medication has changed my life for the better, completely, but is "the right thing" to do? Fuck if I know. I simply pulled the trigger, and the positive ramifications have far outweighed the negative (so far! but who knows long term).
Great input, brother. +1. This is a complicated "game" that we have to play (and I use the word "game" metaphorically) when we're at the mercy of the establishment for helping us achieve the quality of life we wanna live.
