Chronic pain & TRT

ad

I'm 40 years old and have been suffering with chronic pain in my lower back, hips, knees and feet, for 2 years, probably due to neglecting my health for years. After receiving little to no help from the NHS - opiates, gabapentin, amitriptyline, pain clinic - none of which helped at all, I started reading about TRT, and it's possible positive effects on pain. After being unemployed for a year due to the worsening pain, and declining physical and mental health, I decided I had nothing to lose, so I did all the research I could, got an online testosterone test (result was 400 ng/dl), and then bought some TEST E.

For the last 8 weeks I've been injecting 200 mg a week sub-Q, and the result so far for the pain is very positive. I can now do a lot more than I could 8 weeks ago, and I can tolerate and cope with the pain much better. I can now do some physio, which I couldn't do a couple of months ago without exacerbating the pain significantly.

I know I now need to get a blood test to check overall health. Does anyone know the best way to go about getting the kind of test I need, without telling my GP what I've been doing? Or should I just tell them and take the telling off, if they'll then give me a test?

Also, can anyone tell me how common it is for TEST E to be bunk? I've read that this is uncommon, and that it's the 'steroids' that tend to be faked, rather than TEST. I've bought enough of the one I'm using to last 2 years, as it seems to be good.

Brother, I am the Master of body trauma..too much to list...the ONLY thing I can think of you may have heard, as was mentioned already above, is taking a small amount of Deca..I know lots of us old-timers with banged-up bodies dose 200mg a week to keep things lubed. It all depends on what the pain is you are feeling..ex..nerve pain, bulged disks, arthritis, and so on.

Hope this helps..

Hey there, so I used to be a medic and ended up switching professions because of a back injury. I too, went through the gammit of docs, pain mgmt, physical therapy, pills, more pills, etc. I'll just leave you with what I think from my own personal experience.. My father, who was a Doctor in 4 fields, explained it like this..."If you were In Africa, where you don't have access to pain medicine, or any meds really, what would we do?". T
Thinking for a second about being stranded on a hot ass desert in the middle of nowhere Africa. I say, " I dunno" Yup....
He then goes on to say, " If we were in Africa, the ONLY thing that we would be able to do is to add some muscle and strengthen your core." " What happens when you pull something in your back, or anywhere really."
Me again, " I dunno"
" It SWELLS! It swells because thats the body's way of protecting itself. Its the same thing that's happening to your back when it hurts and is so stiff you can hardly move. It protecting your spine the only way it knows how".
Me: "Oh, ok"
" So, all we have to do, is tighten up those muscles that are surrounding your spine, your core. And we're also gonna stretch and strengthen the accessory muscles ( stomach, ham strings). That way it's already tight around your spine and your body's doesn't have to get all stiff n s***.".
-RIP DAD
Anyway, I definitely understand about steroids helping with the pain because it has cut down ALOT of my own pain. However, its only going to help with the pain if you're training properly.
Oh, in regards to getting tested or, if youre gonna tell your Dr. about the steroids, or not. I'd reccomend just letting him know what you're taking and also why. He may be able to help with the over all "goal". Its also possible, he finds something you didn't even know about. I took test for 2 years before a Dr at a new clinic, ordered a few other things for my bloodwork, and when the results came back it showed that I have a hyperactive thyroid.

Lab Corp or Quest for bloods. But I'm with the other guys. Never heard of trt helping with pain. Maybe joint pain with a nor19 compound but that's about it. Not test.

Sounds like you been seeking out bandaids for the pain instead of finding a viable solution to your issues. I can't stand opioids. Bad news all around there. Pot might help you with pain, it we'd need more info about cause and current condition. I'm no doctor but I've had to deal with my fair share of painful situations. Warzones tend to do that fairly quickly. ;-)

If not abused, some people can benefit from pain pills.

I've been begging the NHS for a viable solution, but they don't have one. Pot makes me mentally ill with paranoia! This pain has been here now for 2 years and until recently, was continually getting worse and worse. I've told my doctor I have severe suicidal ideation, but they don't seem to really care. This is the way the NHS is now, so starved of funds I think everyone who works there has given up caring.

I hear you. What's the pain from though? Joint pain, injury, arthritis, surgery? You might revisit the pot. Sativa makes me awake and contemplate the universe. Indica relieves my pain and lets me sleep more than 2hr a day. Sativa is usually responsible from paranoia in some folks. Honestly need to know more about your pain to point in the right direction.

Never heard of TRT helping with chronic pain. You probably should have thought this over more. 400 is a decent level. You are running a small cycle right now and can't continue on at that level unless you really want to ruin your health. Now you have also shut down your HPTA and will have to try and recover from that. You may or may not be able to and then you will be stuck pinning for the rest of your life just to maintain likely silghtly above what your natty levels were in the first place. I would drop the test and run a PCT to see if you can hopefully recover and then go talk to your doc.

I've tried talking to many docs, all NHS, and they're all as unhelpful as each other. Their attitude now is, you're now a chronic pain sufferer and there's not much we can do about that, other than the pharma bullshit we've already offered, and the pain clinic, which was also bullshit - physio and CBT.

Its PLACEBO, you only THINK its helping when in fact it is not. My wife has chronic pain, should she start doing trt? Her doctor sure as shit did not prescribe her hormones for her pain, they prescribed physical therapy, medical weed, diet, and exercises. Maybe you should stop self medicating and look for a pain doctor that specializes in alternative meds and a healthier regimen.

Why wouldn't you tell your GP what you're doing? They'll probably tell you it's a bad idea, but won't refuse treatment.

Test is so cheap, it won't be bunk if you order from a reputable source. In fact it'll probably be overdosed.

I'll ask them for a test. I'm just sick of dealing with them.
