27 with Total Test at 268
ad
So I went and got my levels checked 3 months ago and again yesterday. the Doc recommended I start TRT immediately. 3 months ago my Total T was 283 and yesterday it was 268. I did one cycle a few years ago while still in the military in 2013 and followed all proper cycle protocols with a test E only cycle and PCT as the norm goes around here and haven't touched it since. My cycle logs should still be here lol! My question is, what is the proper TRT cycle or cruise for a male my age? The doc says he wants me sitting stable at 800. My symptoms have been terrible for almost a year now! Ithe costs about 60 bucks an office visit for.one shot! Trying to see if I should spend the 40 and DIY it and get labs 2-4 times a year

You need to get the doc to teach you how to self administer the weekly shots
Trae, I had the same issue and my urologist wasn't interested in finding the cause. Maybe because of my age I was 40 + at the time. I wanted to know why, so I went to see an endocrinologist and the first thing he did was a MRI w/ contrast of the brain. They look for pituitary or hypothalamus problems and in many cases there is a pituitary adenoma. In fact during autopsy they frequently find these tumors buy they don't always cause problems. A full hyper gonadal panel will tell us lots more specifically FSH & LH levels, and estrogen. Don't wait, the longer you wait the more permanent some of the potential problems could get (such as a tumor) even though they are benign they cause problems to the pituitary gland. The only DIY I would recommend is lab tests, if you find the root cause and decide TRT there are lots of people here that can give you good advice. Don't take anything until you are diagnosed properly.
My urologist ran a scan on me to check for tumors also. TRT is not for doit yourselfers. TRT is more than just pinning some test every week.
good luck bro! my natural level of test is only 160-170.
RustyhookerGreat advice posted in here!
As stated by others find a good endocrinologist.
You need to find a doctor that is looking for the root cause of your low test levels. You are still a young guy and you may be able to fix your test levels through different treatment. You don't need to DIY you need to find a competent doctor.
You need to see a urologist or an endocrinologist to really understand what is going on and to help you out. There are other methods to try instead of just jumping into TRT and having to pin the rest of your life. You definitely don't want to DIY.
Reads like an androgen clinic. Magnesium and zinc and see how you feel. Clomid would be a logical first ste not TRT.
Agree with below. Doc seems fishy, find another. Medical profession is a business, so treat it as such.
your doctor should have you go see an endocrinologist. have him refer you to one...
Have u tried hcg ?? Or other remedies to jump start ur test levels?? Bro ur 27 trtshould be the last option
Did your Dr try or discuss anything that can maybe restart your natural production? Do you take opiates or any medications for mental health?
The right dose is the one your Dr prescribes you, don't do it on your own. I'm weary of Dr's that want you to pay by the visit. I would try to find one that's really well versed in hormone therapy and will let you fill a script at the pharmacy.
I take lexapro and no, no other treatment was talked about. And that's what I thought, why can't I fill a prescription and do it at home? It's just to make his pockets fatter in my opinion. He said I can go though them and get the take home shots but it's more expensive and the cost will not go towards my insurance deductible
I would get a second opinion. Trt is a huge commitment, a doctor suggesting that without even mentioning or trying other approaches to potentially restart you is a huge red flag. The fact that he obligates you or tries to manipulate you into coming in for every shot is another red flag.
These doctors that go about this with this type of approach are no different than these methadone clinics. It creates this drug user drug dealer mentality. They have you by the balls and they know it. Going on trt for life and not even having the luxury of administering you own doses is way too big of a ball and chain. Most, including myself, wouldn't even consider this.
Edit;
I guess what I should be asking is, how do you feel? Why did you have your test checked in the first place?
