Time for a change...

ad

Some may know by my multiple threads that I recently finished my time in the USMC. Since being out of the Corps, something has been changing in me:

The first month or so out of the Corps, it just felt like I was on leave. Now, it's been a few months since I went on terminal leave. Now all I can feel is I want to get away from here. This feeling crept on slowly, as well as many other feelings. Example; I was looking at majors for school, and realize I don't want to go to school here, I want to go to Australia to study and possibly live. I've always been looking at new vehicles, and every time I think I settled, nope. Now no vehicles to buy interest me. Right now I live with my father and his family. I WAS intenting to stay there for two years while going to a CC then transferring. But I can't see that happening. I need a fresh start somewhere. I have dual citizenship, and am in the process of contacting University of Queensland on how to go about applying.

I can't really describe this feeling. If you're prior military, and you've felt something like this, you'll understand. I think i'll be a lot happier somewhere else, on my own. Because where I currently am (where I grew up), my only friends are two old life long buddies, and Marines across the United States. I figure, fuck it, go to a big university in Australia. I have family in Brisbane too.

I d have to say that when I left and the months and days and even years after, I felt like I didn't have much in common with the average 20 something ... ( I still don't) ... take some time to figure out what it is you really want before making your decision. Know that even if you make the wrong decision.. you can always change your mind.. and there is nothing wrong with that ..
