loved it ! feeling good after reading and learning
I hate Alpha males......arrogant, good-looking bastards.
I always try to out-alpha them by bumping into them at the bar.....and every single time his bitch-ass girlfriend hits me with a surprise hook and I go down.
More Test please.
Buahaha! Goth your Alpha as fuck, what other reason were you able to pull GRrrll. Only an Alpha could handle such a bad ass girl! ;P
hmmm, 22 of those apply to me maybe I need to girly up my attitude. lol
jzagNo babe, you are not the Alpha male. You are perfectly lady like in my opinion.
well in my head I'm a badass ;)
Lmfao! me too.
God damn am I alpha. Lol
Fck yeah and welcome to Adv level brodie!
I've never seen anyone climb as fast as this guy! He knows his shit, but I am waiting on someone to start a thread about how fast he got karma and how they only have 50points after 2 years blah blah blah
Yea i know right, he contributes though and puts in work here daily. Fckers will be jealous no matter what you do. Mods catch karma whores pretty quick, so im Pretty sure his karma is legit or isnt it?
Confident, self assured, humble, dignified, holds a commanding presence, and most importantly in better shape of 99% of other males is what I would consider a Alpha male.
Well my delusions of being an alpha have just been shattered...Lmao!
It's to broad, how can anybody match themselves to all that.
Real alpha's just live their lives, they don't need to remind themselves, or be reminded. Interesting read though.
Yep!!!
And how about the Alpha male has a beard, if he has a beard it's not for coffee shops and spoken word open mic night
Like these homos:

This is too broad range and too many make up these characteristics. I think they need to come up with a new word to explain a dominant male in humans. Alpha was/is perfect in the description of the leader of pack animals. But by nature, they are few and far between. Following these guidelines or "things that make up an alpha" pretty much says you can learn to be an alpha which I believe is the furthest thing from the truth. The alpha male wolf is the cream of the crop. He's the best of the best. He relies on his pack to make him an alpha. Without his beta he will fall from his reign. Are ppl that way? No! Most ppl don't need a crew of others to help them solidify their place in a society. Some do, but most? Ehh! It's a cool article but more about chest pumping false bravado IMO. You can't learn to be an alpha. You're born an alpha and every wolf in the pack knows it when he finally steps up to take him crown. Challenges the current alpha (usually a direct relative because the bloodlines are strong) the old alpha is destined to fall. So when he is even challenged, the pack submits immediately . It's nature, not nurture. In people , we are and aren't pack animals. We don't need a pack although it helps solidify strength. The lone wolf is not as much a threat to a pack because he's alone. But if he challenged the alpha? Without the alphas pack backing him? I think the alpha is done for. The lone wolf has no choice but to be as bad ass, stone cold as he can or he doesn't survive. He has to adapt to seclusion and emotional ,and physical distress all alone. That speaks to the qualities we posses. Ppl don't need a pack so most so called alphas, they don't have a pack so the entire concept is not a good comparison. I say find a new word to describe the dominant male. Too many guys think they're alphas or wana be alphas. I think that the simple fact that ppl want or seek out that status immediately eliminates them as being one. The true dominant male doesn't need recognition or his ego stroked. He doesn't need to be patted on the back or psyched up. He doesn't give a flyin fuck about what the next man thinks. He does what he does and does it with purpose and intent. Unapologetically ,...finding a perfect balance of confidence and humility without effort. My $0.02
I read the article first thing this morning and pretty much dismissed it for many of the same reason you have stated. I will say that while we are not a "pack" specie we do often act as tho we were. I think most men shoot at least try to be the dominant buck within their own home/family if nothing else. Once he steps outside tho it is nowhere near that simple. I look at it like there are different levels of alpha/dominance. Starting at home, then to social groups, then business, politics etc. I may be the "alpha in my home, my social group and my business but the next bigger alpha down the chain still eclipses me.
Anon25) says "the alpha male doesn't try to be an alpha male. That's where so many fail"
Wouldn't that pretty much be your point towards the end about humility etc. or you saying something else I'm not understanding?
I don't know if "alpha" is necessarily a bad word to use in a general sense, I just think people put wayyy too much of a conscious effort trying to stick labels on themselves/others in general to put everyone in a little box of what they should or shouldn't be. To me an human alpha male is just someone who people naturally turn to for leadership or advice, is emotionally self-reliant, charismatic, always positive, and extremely socially savvy. Someone that most everyone likes and is highly confident.
Wannabe alphas tend to just brag about everything, be approval seeking, and just be obnoxious in general.
I do think a conscious effort can be made to adopt positive character traits & learn social skills associated with being "alpha". Staying humble, not being needy emotionally, etc. I'm an introvert that's completely forced himself to become a borderline extrovert. Took a lot of time and effort and if I stop going out for even a week I regress but being socially savvy is definitely a learned skill for me it flat out does not come naturally.
In the more strict definition of alpha male as you've described you're right of course the top 1% didn't have to try to improve themselves they just are the way they are, born that way. Guess all I'm saying is normal guys can drastically improve and become better versions of themselves, which in my case involved becoming more "alpha" although at no point have I ever thought to myself "I need to be more alpha" or any other kind of label. I just consciously work on improving in areas I feel I'm lacking in as I think everyone should.
I tried to think of a better fitting word than "alpha" but I'm not having any ideas.
Reads like you suffer from bad confidence issues............. if you need any help with that problem i have an iron bar that will knock you into shape real quick!!..... lmfao.
AnonLOL opposite. A bit over-confident to the point of being a dick, that's what I meant by social skills. Abrasive sense of humor. Scaled everything back. Thanks for offering to help out though V much obliged!
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkHahaha... anytime bro.. im bored with being a doorman at Mothercare lol.. i could do with a stiffer challenge
No, that's one point I made. And you're saying just because number 25 says that , the whole write up is gold? Ehh, again, cool read but take it with a grain of salt. Everyone on this site thinks they're an alpha. I'm no alpha. I don't roll with a pack. But in the presence of others, I'll let them decide what they see or feel about me. Because what they eat doesn't make me shit so idgaf really. Too often ppl talk about and write about or talk about how alpha they are while the true dominant males are out getting shit done
Btw, who made the author of this a foremost authority on the topic? And how about dominant male as an accurate description in humans? I know, alpha sounds cool. Fuck it, don't mind me. Carry on
AnonDeff not. I was thinking in context of the article still after you had moved on from it to describe the alpha dynamic, didn't follow it closely first read through. I guess the take-away is that the "alpha" comparison isn't really an accurate one when describing humans. Learn something new every day rofl
My gawd man, that's some poweful stuff
Id love to slap the Alpha Tag on my self and while I do cover some of the things listed, I'm to f#**ing self obsessed quite honestly to claim to be anything else :/
I think thats pretty much all of us?
