Push up challenge

ad

How many push ups can you do in 2 minutes?

I was surprised at how few I could do, so I'm going to see how much improvement I can reach in 30 days. There is no prize, but it's something to do so drop and give me 2 minutes lol

DBG's picture

103 today...had 20 sec left but hit the floor lol

Cooldiver88's picture

Used to do this as part of the prt in the navy. Along with it came sit ups, 500yard swim and 1.5mile run. Best I ever got was slightly over 130 in two mins, and none of that half push up shit either.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

I was in the air force, that was my inspiration for this. We didn't do the 500 though, but the rest sounds right. Smile

Pale's picture

I am not sure mine would hold up to military scrutiny. Regardless, right now I am able to do more push ups than at any point in my life. At 41 I can't bitch..

ButtHurty's picture

Are you allowed to stop and go again as long as its within the 2 minutes? Or do you have to stay in push-up position the entire time?

UgtaBkdNme's picture

You can rest in the up position Smile

Hmmmm...I might try this tomorrow morning at work here. Get all jacked on espresso and dbol first ;-)

I don't even think I'd get to 2 mins before failure. I'll give this a go in the next couple a days, chest is a little tight at the moment.

When I was away we used to do chins, dips, sit ups etc but with a 1 min limit. I used to love it, I was badass at em all.

Another good challenge was getting a fully loaded Olympic bar on a mat (we used the basketball courts for this) and having to strip it down and a run with as much as you could carry to another mat 20 meters away. Believe me this is a lot harder than it sounds! Especially when you're up against your fellow cons.
Bleep tests are badass as well, I've got loads of happy memories lol. We used to all manner of stuff, the gym was better equipped than most gyms I've used in the free world believe it or not!

2 minutes might be a long time now but in a month I bet it will not. I'll be happy if I can get to 40 lol

robb's picture

I think if I tried it twice a week I'm sure I'd be busting em out soon enough.

I like a challenge lol.

Lol...I guess a good majority of us men have been incarcerated

robb's picture

Too many of us bro. But give me a nice easy UK one rather than some of those hardcore US ones I've seen on TV.

Well that was a little harder than I expected. Only got 70. My shoulders and chest feel like they're going to explode now

DBG's picture

Big pump right?!!? I like blasting a big set post workout every upper body day just as a burnout!

DBG's picture

I can punch out 90-100 with no issues...I guess that's 2 min?

juicechase's picture

for some reason when im on a cycle its much harder for me to do pushups.. i usually do about 25 max

Yep...lots of push-ups in the hole ;-)

UgtaBkdNme's picture

True, that's why its interesting.

ButtHurty's picture

Heck yeah man. That's great!

And I agree with you on that, dude. I'm way more impressed by the guy that can do 100+ push-ups, or 225 for 20+ reps, than the dude that can mongoloid an ugly 405 1rm.

Honstly I hit 43 In a minute. After 40 sit ups in a minute, military style fingers interlaced, elbows pass the knees no floping. Welcome endurance for the win. Reality.

Greg's picture

My wife lies beneath me and motivates me to do more. But usually I can only last 30 seconds... 2 minutes would be a stretch.

IrishMack's picture

not those kind of pushups, giggity.

IrishMack's picture

I haven't done pushups since my last job training; we were told to do 150; take a 15 minute break and then do as many as we could after that.

McMeanie87's picture

Well i barely got to 90 and the last 10 weren't the prettiest push ups...thought I could get atleast 100 for sure.. will they again in a month Smile

MusicMan's picture

That's good as heck. That pump must have been nice

McMeanie87's picture

And I just started igf lr3,ghrp6 and cjc over a week ago..so yea it was a awesome pump lol

gymlife2's picture

5 foot 12? Easier to just say 6 foot. Sounds cooler though I guess

UgtaBkdNme's picture

You can out deadlift him

Pale's picture

I can do 50 clean, up from 25 when I started AAS. I have not tried to see how many I can get in two minutes. What the hell.

edit: 100 on the first try.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

That's really good!

Pale's picture

I am sure it helps I have been doing a ton of pushups lately. I have been doing 3-5 sets of 40-50 3-4 days a week for the last six weeks or so.

MedDx's picture

I will start watching the clock. I do three sets of 15 with 50# strapped to my back using dumbbells for handles.

alain_305mia's picture

As soon as it slows down a bit at work I will tackle this challenge.i love pushups.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

I can do 15 LMAO
