Great this is not what we need.
What upsets me about all this is, it cost 16,000 just to bring them over her per refugee that's not even the ncost to house feed and cloth them. And we have hungry and homeless vets where 16,000 could pay for a 1 bedroom for a year and include food and clothing needs job placement etc. In my area a 2bd apt is $415, a 3bdroom is $505 so really for 6 grand a year could house three veterans. So the cost of one refugee could house almost 9 homeless vets for a year. We have problems we need to fix here first before trying to help out every country. It says something when neighboring countries of the same walks of life refuses to help. When they have all the oil money and resources to do so. We would be stupid to believe Isis doesn't have plenty of sleeper agents in these refugees. Every picture shown is nothing but men of fighting age 14-50. You don't see but a occasional women or child. Its all young to middle age men. The govt needs to release the vetting process on who is deemed safe. And what monitoring activies are going to happen once resettled here. Its politically incorrect to be anti Muslim. As I've said before we will never win a war when they are fighting for God. And there prophet says people must convert or be killed. Only Christians are tolerated if they pay a tax and must feel that they are conquered and inferior to Muslims. They are even bringing back slavery of people in their conquered territories. Especially women who are given to fighters to be their wives. Some fighters get more than one wife. It irratates me as well these women travel to the middle east and believe what they are told and believe all kinds of bullshit. And when they get their get beaten and made a sex slave/wife to a fighter. Never ceases to amaze me some people. This is no shit, when I was in Iraq we stopped this car it had a man and women in it. The woman spoke English, the man didn't. She said she was from the US and gave us her Texas drivers license. I couldn't believe it, we tore that car apart. Ripped open and out all the seats, took door panels out, trunk liner etc. Didn't find anything. But we were like you know there's a war going on right its not safe here. You learn to trust your gut over there, and till this day it never sat right with me. We didn't find anything in that car but I feel she was helping the enemy. Don't know what ever happened we passed her info along up the chain. We have to go in their ww1,ww2 style no journalist. And no rules of engagement and we could take the majority of Isis out in 6-12 months maybe 500-1000 casualties tops. the new rules of engagement get people killed. I feel Russia will do fairly well because they give the finger to anyone who disagrees with how they fight war. If they hide in schools or clinics Russia shows them they are safe no where. Which hurts and helps. One hand the people hate Russia for it and cilvilan casualties. And some people hate Isis for it as well and blame them. You can't please everyone. They'd tell us to leave fuck america and then boom car bomb kills 150 in a market. Where were the Americans your supposed to protect us. And kids only meals they get are at school instead of bringing in people taught since their first words to kill infidels and the prophets word is to be taken literally. And that the west and and isreal must die. Don't know if trump would make a good president but he has good ideas. Fix us first, and build a wall across the border. And to befriend Russia and go in and deal with Isis properly. I am with him with only exception being the homeless vets, red herring argument. Any honorably discharged veteran in this country can walk into a VA and receive housing assistance. Again, people confuse what may have happened long ago with the reality of today. If an honorably discharged veteran is homeless in America today it is because they choose to be.
I can personally attest to the housing for veterans statement.
For the last 15 years, I've personally been involved with the rehabilitation of homes for veteran housing. They would then move on to purchasing their own homes. It was a foothold in a sense. The program was recently cut because there are too many opportunities now, that didn't exist ten years ago.
That's not really true fully, when the va is full they are full. They give assistance checks to 40,000 vets but its not enough to live off of and only have 45,000 beds total this is straight from the govt.
Each year, VA’s specialized homelessness programs provide health care to almost 150,000 homeless veterans and other services to more than 112,000 veterans. Additionally, more than 40,000 homeless veterans receive compensation or pension benefits each month.
Since 1987, VA’s programs for homeless veterans have emphasized collaboration with such community service providers to help expand services to more veterans in crisis. VA, using its own resources or in partnerships with others, has secured nearly 15,000 residential rehabilitative and transitional beds and more than 30,000 permanent beds for homeless veterans throughout the nation. These partnerships are credited with reducing the number of homeless veterans by 70% since 2005.
On any given night in america the homeless veterans on the street because of no room either at va or local shelter is 49,000-50,000
Dealing with the va is a bunch of bs. I hate going to the va. You get put on waiting list and forgot about. I'm lucky enough I can work and see private drs or I'd be waiting forever and just given a 5 second look over and just given pills instead of proper treatment
And the facts are that if an actual veteran wants help they can find it. They can find it much easier than any other segment of our population. The ones who chose not to probably don't by choice

I hear your point on it and agree that a veteran usually can get help easier then a non veteran. The va is seriously a joke. It is a talking point, that they want to bring 100,000 plus Syrian refugees but can only provide 30,000 beds for people who did something for this country. The other 15k are from rehabilation centers which isnt permanent housing. What they do is push the local centers to try and find placement for the veterans. If they don't have room just screwed until they do. I find it hard to believe 50k veterans would rather sleep in the street then have a warm cot somewhere. They will give medical care though. BuT its not just vets, 150,000 homeless vets is small compared to the few million in America. or my other issue kids who only really get to eat at school. Once those are taken care of and there are millions left over alright then help some other countries out. Guess I'm more biased on the vet thing naturally, the very people we fought against they're gonna provide more housing and assistance for then the people who actually took the fight to them when their country asked. Regardless of the reasons of the war. Its a sad time in america where a private organization wounded warrior project does more for injured vets then the va and govt does. And there are camps in the continental US, who is in them I have no idea. I just know there is one in New York that was admitted.
There were rumors when I was in the Marines that there were camps with Marines in the guard towers but no prisoners yet. But I could never get any concrete info about it. I imagine if its true security clearances wouldn't allow any mention of it. When you get into security clearance stuff, whatever you see you can't talk about for 50 years.everyone involved will be dead by then. And if you live that long they still put pressure on you. There's cases of 80 yr old CIA men getting visits from men telling them to shut up
Interesting thing is why we set up Guantanamo bay in a communist country we have trade, and other embargo's with for 50 years up until a couple months ago. Cuba doesn't have to abide by Geneva conventions for enemy combatants. We have them in other communist and less human right based countries as well but there not popular like the Cuban one. Obamacare, well if they had stuck with the original plan I don't believe it would have been nearly as bad, but you need to go back and look at who insisted they wouldn't sign if there was a government option to leverage the insurance companies. What you find may surprise you. That single giveback screwed everyone. We should also remember that health insurance was all fucked up pre ASA and that is why it came to be in the first place.
I think he is an ok leader that faced insurmountable resistance at every turn from congress. I think he realized that we can never fix the Middle East or west Asia and tried to get us out instead of allowing us to bleed out on worthless ground.
Finally on the economy the last five years in particular have been pretty damn good for all businesses in this country. Even in the manufacturing sector which suffered terribly under bush. So I guess in closing when I look back at my 42 years the only era which seemed better for the average American was probably the second Bill Clinton term.
