New Study: 3-4 eggs Daily Can Cause Heart Disease/Early Death
What's up guys. I literally just heard this on the news, that adding 3 to 4 additional eggs per day to your diet can actually cause heart disease and even early death. They were saying that the most harmful part is the yolk, because of the cholesterol content. Now, I know that in the body building/gym community, probably most of us include lots of eggs into our diets so I figured I'd put this topic up here to get some thoughts on the subject.
Of course, keeping an eye on your cholesterol intake is very important for your health. Especially when using different steroid compounds and AI's that can have their own negative impact on your cholesterol values. I'm sure that most of us are aware that the yolks of eggs contain some cholesterol. But do you think that this is just taking it a little too far? And is this kind of study/claim gonna actually cause you to make any changes to your diet? What are your thoughts on this topic?
Like I said, I was just sitting here on Eroids and listening to the news on tv when I heard this come on. So, I decided to put it up.

Good find. thanks mate.
Our natty testosterone iIS CHOLESTEROL. now in my life they have switched 20 times saying whether they are good bad good bad. Ill switch back to all whites i guess.
I'll eat eggs forever..love em
Dietary cholesterol has virtually no effect upon blood cholestrol levels. It's the saturated fats that affect cholesterol negatively.
Right on. Carbies in the liver too. Once they overflow, it is into LDL they shall go.
Im hesitant to believe it as it has been presented, and this is why: eggs increase good ldl particles and good hdl, while decreasing bad (small) ldl particles, but aso while maintaining total chol levels
Re: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5946211
That happens at 2 eggs per day, proven.
Anecdotally, I reduced my tren damage while eating anywhere from 6 eggs to 18 eggs per day. Both LDL decreased (I didnt get particle size tested) and HDL increased. Proven with bloods and I always eat eggs, every day.
I dont have access to the full study, but what I am reading across different organisations presentation of the study shows 6 groups from 80's to 2015. They adjust for diseases, medications, etc. then finally reduce for a combination of eggs and red meat intake (from what I see). So for starters, if this is correct, they are mioxing eggs with another food which has been riddled with controversy (for starters wtf are they defining as red meat in the US? - as per the red meat research debunking true red meat as a carcinogen when cooked safely.
Over a longitudinal study like that, how could they possibly account for overall dietary habits, methods of cooking, cooking aids etc. (eggs and bacon cooked in margorine on a teflon pan anyone?!!!!)
Also, reviews of the study state this doesnt apply to the UK deit, just the US diet which would imply, to me at least, problems with the western diet (sugars and fats mixed) rather than just eggs.
This is gonna end up like the whole bullshido red meat debate... blame the meat until you eventually realise it is what resembles red meat, bathed in nitrates and burned/scorched to produce carcinogens.
Load of fkn shite if you ask me.... which you didnt.
I didn't ask you either - but I'm glad you replied...and yes, shite is the word. I eat about 10 eggs a week. Missed you in the EBC line-up mate.
No EBC for me, my days of vicious cuts are long behind me!!! Im entering my 5th week of a PCT/restart process now, just letting the hormones drain out at the minute. Lots of fun! Im also happy enough with my slightly-better-than-the-average dadbod LOL
I'm rooting for the Brits; Growmore and Kibby, sending good wishes and real Karma their way!
And now I see I have another competitor to be a fanboy for! Well done for entering man, will be supporting you all the way!
How are you mate? Any positive progression with your own situation?
GrowwMore looks great - didn't see Kibby, will take another look and wish him luck. Many thanks for the well-wishes mate - I'm giving the EBC a go just to motivate me to lose some weight.
My SQ ED TRT is working a treat. Up into the low-normal range on 70mg PW (posted bloods in lab results https://www.eroids.com/pics/testosterone-results). In a month I will get T, E and Prolactin just to see how things are panning out.
As far as I know he is definitely entering, but dont think he submitted yet. I know he planned to anyway!
SQ ED is awesome. I played with it but ended up needing more than that, just to remain functional
I develop depressive symptoms from about 425 test levels. (so much for ranges, right?!)
This is great news. Delighted it is going well. Once you have that locked solid, it should end up being CV protective too as long as estro gets to the right place for you personally. I can only imaging that yu ust feel great after running on empty for so long.
Genuinely delighted things are moving nicely for you.
Kibby has missed the cutoff. EBC is now closed. So you can split his karma between GrowMore and me. :-)
I'm actually going to up the dose to 80mg PW and see if I hit mid-range. Yes - the CV protective aspect is what I want. I'm running DIM for the Estrogen so that it can maybe get in balance. I have been using it for a few weeks now and will see how my E looks in a month as to whether I continue using it.
The increase in T has been great. The little guy salutes me in the morning, random sex with the wife, energy in the gym, more positive outlook - so far it's all good. Just got to get rid of this accumulated E belly fat and I will be happy.
Thanks for the support mate - i know it genuine and i appreciate it.
Never trust anything on the news...
Even the weather channel sensationalized shit these days.
jayiskWeatherman is a great job. Imagine if you only had to be right 30% of the time doing your job.
All this modern tech and they still cant get the weather correct for more than a couple of hrs.
the weather channel now is similar to a kid playing with a knew app on their phone. they added all these silly graphics and shit. love when they send some idiot out in hurricane winds and make them stand there getting pelted with rain and wind. lol
while the other weather people are in a nice studio relaxing..., Jim..,ah Jim you there..,sorry we seem to have lost Jim..,haha
I kind of like that the weather is unpredictable, it's one of those 'wonders of nature' things for me. Imagine if we could predict everything with pinpoint accuracy, it would make life a pretty dull experience.
Alphamale500I posted the actual study details from CNN, so everyone can check it out for themselves. And where I wrote 3-4 eggs per day, it's actually only 3-4 eggs per week! That's fuckin crazy.
I’m done for lol
StevebBro I got 2 eggs you can have everyday and they wont affect your cholesterol in anyway
I'd set a "no homo" after your post, if i was you
Ace VenturaHe’d be lying
bahaha!
Lmfao....
First of all this sounds like total bullcrap. One is more likely to get heart disease from a myriad of other foods let alone one of natures almost perfect foods, a free range all natural egg.
Eating red meat everyday is more likely to cause heart disease. Eating a slice of pizza or French fries everyday is more likely to cause heart disease.
Personally I know no doctor ever who has diagnosed heart disease in a patient and then blamed it on the patients egg rich diet.
With all the bullshit fast food and processed foods soda sugar that I stayed away from all my life I think eggs aren’t so bad. I agreee with you. I eat four eggs a day minimum.
Alphamale500I agree that it sounds like bullshit. But I guess they're just going by the fact that egg yolks do contain a fair amount of cholesterol, and people that eat lots of cholesterol could develop heart disease.
And I'm sure there have been many people whose doctors have diagnosed them with heart disease at least partially caused by having high cholesterol, but certainly not just from their egg rich diet. I think they basically play around and scare people with statistics and only certain parts of studies conducted.
I just posted the actual study details. Check it out.
LOL. Now I just need to train my chickens to come lay their eggs on the porch so I don't have to walk to the coop every morning when I get eggs for my omelet.
The study I saw stated 300mg or more of dietary cholesterol led to a 17 percent increase in heart disease. However, only 3 percent of people in the study developed heart disease. They play around with statistics to scare people. Eat your eggs.
All about the source man, yolks from pasture raised are far different than those chicken lots they have.
Different fat profiles will cause different LDL molecule shapes, either encouraging or discouraging excess cholesterol deposit
They don't mention the bacon and sausage and fried potatoes these fuckers eat with the eggs hmm I wonder what tests they really did
Not including the jug of syrup they put on it
AnonDamn, scrambled eggs with bacon and fried potatoes cooked in a cast iron skillet is right up my alley.
StevebI guess I'll be dying soon because I eat a dozen eggs almost every day for years now.
Alphamale500I just posted the actual details from the study. You think 3-4 eggs per day sounds bad, check out where it actually says 3 or more eggs per week! Lol!
StevebI eat them raw and it doesn't affect my cholesterol at all, it stays the same. But when I start a cycle my cholesterol goes up.
Alphamale500Lol! Probably lots of us will be dead soon
jayiskif you went by the statistics on studies everyone on the planet should be dead by now.
Alphamale500Very true!
I eat whole eggs almost daily.....4-6 per day and my cholesterol and triglycerides are always on point. I get yearly physicals at work as well as blood work on my own year round to track.....when I slack off the fats and up the carbs is when I see the worst numbers. They are in range just not as good .....but I'm just one person. I believe in and practice a healthy fats and lower carb lifestyle
Oh fuck off! They repeat this shit every several years.
Yes, I do believe that "Fuck off" is the proper response to this dire egg warning
I heard the opposite the other day haha. Fuck me I’ll be dead in a few years I guess. I eat about a dozen a day or more. Farm fresh.
Wow! I had to check the date on this to see if it was an old post from the 1970's!
That's the old Ansel Keye's "7 Nations" theory that spawned the U.S. dietary guidelines and food pyramid (Eat lots of grans and cereals and avoid fat!) responsible for the deaths of millions in the last 40 years.
There was NEVER any proof that fat makes you fat or that cholesterol causes heart disease.
Modern studies blame low-fat/high-carb diets for rising blood glucose and the resulting systemic inflamation that cause coronary heart disease.
I avoided eggs and other saturated fats for my entire life.
THEN I had a heart attack, a mini-stroke, and developed Type II diabetes.
That was four years ago, and I've eaten 3-5 eggs a day, every day since. And lots of dietary fat. (Carbs in moderation)
My Dr. tells me: "I don't know what you're doing, but KEEP DOING IT."
My cholesterol has gone wayyy down. My HBA1C is at non-diabetic levels again (M5.2), and my BP is lower than ever (110/70)
So, IMHO, eating eggs is not bad for you.
YMMV
Alphamale500I also think that this study is likely just bullshit, but there certainly is plenty of evidence that high cholesterol can attribute to heart disease!
I agree. Sugar spiking insulin levels are more dangerous than actually consuming dietary fats.
I only eat the whites but theres guys on here that eat the yolks and have lower cholesterol than me...I think genetics plays the biggest role in most things.
Alphamale500The egg whites are supposed to be the healthiest part of the egg. Or the least harmful to your cholesterol levels anyway.
StevebCholesterol shows up to repair arteries. Saying cholesterol clogs your arteries is like saying firemen cause fires. There's lots of people with super high cholesterol and there arteries are fine. The real culprit is inflammation from sugar.
Alphamale500But you can't be saying that super high cholesterol, especially LDL can't cause clogged arteries, are you? That's like cholesterol 101. And I do agree that sugar intake is a real problem.
StevebYes I am. It's a scam, there's fucking vegans with clogged arteries getting heart attacks.
HDL cholesterol sucks cholesterol out of cells (including the vasculature) and takes it to the liver.
LDL does the opposite.
You are correct though, typically there needs to be inflammation present for plaque to build and blood cholesterol/LDL contribute to
