Using Statins With Gear To Keep Lipids In Check???

ad

Hey what's up guys. I'm very interested in this topic and I've never seen anybody talk about doing it, so I'd figured I'd ask about it. I don't use any statins(lipid lowering medications) with my gear and I'm not suggestion anybody to do so. I'd just like to know if some people do or heard of people doing so, which statins they've used, and what kind of results they've experienced.

Now we all now that using AAS and the ancilliaries that go with it can cause problems with our lipid levels. They can lower your HDL(Good Cholesterol) and/or raise you LDL(Bad Cholesterol), and raise your triglycerides and total cholesterol. Optimal lipid levels are very important for maintaining your heart and cardiovascular health. I try and keep my lipid levels in good range through good eating habits, plenty of cardio, and by using different vitamins and health supplements. But even with doing the most I can to maintain healthy levels, it's basically inevitable while using different AAS and ancilliaries that your lipids will go into undesirable levels.

I know if someone that's not on gear and has persistent problems controlling their lipid levels themselves, in some cases their doctors will put them on statins. Has anyone themselves ever used statins with AAS or ever heard of other AAS users taking statins to help control their lipids? Again, I'm not suggesting or encouraging anyone to so but I'd like to know if some people do this. Using statins without the approval of your doctor can be very dangerous and shouldn't be attempted.

Pass on statins, I prefer using GW. It's been a game changer for the ol lipid profile without the shitty side effects of statins

I'm not sure why statins have such a bad rap. I have been on them for a couple of years now and have had no adverse effects. Then again, high cholesterol has a bad rap too...it runs in my family. My Granny had high cholesterol - lived to 99.5 years of age, my mum has high cholesterol, is 82 and still lives independently and drives a car every day. I have high cholesterol, but zero plaque (as evidenced by angiogram). I only take the statins to keep my Cardiologist happy because she wants to see certain figures on a blood panel - for me - the whole cholesterol thing is misunderstood and over-rated. LDL, the alleged bad cholesterol is necessary for our bodies, does anyone really think that out body produces compounds because they are bad for us?

Should someone use statins while on AAS? I can't see a problem as my experience is that they have no effect on liver enzymes...and remember...what organ produces cholesterol? The liver....why? because cholesterol is necessary to produce vitamin D, steroid hormones, bile acids and cell membranes. So regulating cholesterol while usings compounds that negatively affect the ratio of lipoproteins might be a good idea because our bodies always seek homeostasis to function effectively.

Right. Keeping LDL and HDL in a healthy range

So you do use statins? I figured that there has to be some guys using AAS who also use statins.

Yes, I do use Statins, but the only AAS I take is 80mg Test E PW for TRT. Haven’t run a cycle for about 2 years now and probably never will again.

I'm just not to sure about the sides, or if your body gets "used to" taking them and then needing them for the rest of your life. I know I've heard some things about possible sides associated with statin use.

If you use statins just for a short time like a long cycle let's say, does your body get dependent or used to having them, where they leave you needing to take these meds for life?

And do you need to stay on them?

Every drug has sides – all of them, doesn’t matter what it is. However not all people experience side effects of the drugs they take, and for those who do get sides, then their doctor weighs up the risk/benefit ratio of continuing with the medication.

Personally, I experience no sides from the Atorvastin that I take every day. In terms of my Cardiologist, she wants me to stay on Statins because of my hereditary Cholesterol profile. My Total Cholesterol and Triglycerides are fine, but I have low HDL and high LDL, so being a good doctor, and given my existing heart condition, she is erring on the side of caution.

From everything that I have read Statins do not cause dependency even over the long term, and I would seriously doubt any ill-effects from taking them for a cycle of a few months.

But I can't see doctors having their information wrong or misunderstood on high cholesterol and triglycerides, or LDL and HDL issues causing or putting you at a much higher risk of developing heart and cardiovascular disease, is just something I can't see possibleI!

Again, from my readings, Triglycerides seems to be the culprit when it comes to possible negative heart health, rather than HDL and LDL.

I mean the doctors have to know what they're talking about.

Our entire world is in a process of evolution, every animal, plant, insect, virus and bacteria is in a constantly evolving state – as are humans and our knowledge. What doctors once believed to be medical fact is getting rewritten almost daily. There is a plethora of research out there allegedly linking Cholesterol to heart disease and there is also growing evidence that argues that there is no definitive link.

You just have to make the best call possible based upon research and discussion with people involved in the area. I'm fortunate - I research everything and can have meaningful discussions with my Doctors about medications and courses of action that affect me directly. They appreciate having an informed patient - that's how it should be.

I would keep everything as natural as possible bro. No need to add even more drugs to what we’re already using ya know? Just keep doing what you’re doing, eating right, cardio, supplements and if it gets bad going vegan for a bit is known to reverse high cholesterol. Also, from what I read aromasin is better on lipid levels than adex. Another thing I’ve been using is the sarm gw501516 (cardarine) which along with a clean diet has lowered my cholesterol immensely I’m actually super surprised. Check into it bro along with it’s fat burning benefits it’s a very useful sarm. I’ve actually opted to using Sarms as they’re much safer than oral anabolics. Hope this helps bro take care.
