Former IFBB pro bodybuilder Melvin Anthony was arrested on January 13 in Harrison County, Mississippi, and charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. (A source tells us the controlled substance was the drug ecstasy, but this has not been confirmed.) He plead guilty to the first two charges and was sentenced on January 19 to two concurrent 10-year sentences. Anthony, who was born in 1969 (not 1973, as he previously claimed), is currently imprisoned in the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility with a tentative release date of January 7, 2027.

Can you imagine that big ass Nikka on ecstasy?! What a waste of great talent! Can you imagine being locked up and not doing proper pct and having your levels crash on jail. All of a sudden you become hormonal. Shit sucks. I dont wish that on anyone, but then again shit could happen to any of us.

pharmabruhThats sucks man! I remeber meeting him in veince beach, at the famous "max muscle" store at the time! This was right after Jay Cutler won his first mr.olympia title. There were many top pros at the time there promoting the new partner ship of the max muscle with jay cutler. Haha, i was so young back then! Must of only been 17 years old! I greeted all the pros and they were all very nice to me! I got to take pics with them and get there autograph! Melvin was the only one charging to picture and autograph. I remember paying him 10 dollar for an autograph thinking i was gonna get a picture with him to only to have him stop me from getting close to him and saying "picture are an extra 10 dollars" in my minf i was like wow! And just walked alway! Just a couple of feel away was jay cutler taking pic with fans, talking and give free pics with autographs for free! I was like dan! Jay is awesome! The best bodybuilder at the time and a true good man to his fans

When will people learn. Gets what he gets the fucking junky cunt ( if it wasnt steroids) no sympathy. I deal with fucktards all the time at work on extasy and party pills, sends them fucking loopy, how many kids would overdose, get sick or injured, crime, family torment etc etc i have zero tolerance for any drugs besides steroids or prescription drugs, pot doesnt bother me, as for ice, i make it my mission to smash their faces in any chance i get and if i know of a dealer or " crack house " i go to the premises alone, knock on door and " make my way inside" i take all their money, gold what ever i like and i flush the scummy drugs down the toilet in front of them, when i leave i tell them i will be back once a week for a visit and my mates will stop by when ever they please, they usually abandon property, last month i " repossesed ones whole house and cars for 5 days straight around the clock, had a few lads with me on watch, did not let them in their own house that entire time as punishment for selling ice, made them promise to not sell again. Fuck that shit . Worthless drug dealing scumbags. Fuck them.

I looked at the amount of shows this guy competed in and noticed he only had a handful of good placements. If bodybuilding were a bigger industry like the NFL, where even the lowest salaried players make about half a million per year, he might not have resorted to selling ecstasy.
This goes to show that bodybuilding is not a lucrative career for most participants. From what I hear, endorsers don't payout as much as they used to either.
At the end this guy did not even have enough money to compete. I saw where he was trying to get a sponsor, any sponsor, to cover only the cost of his show prep. No one wanted to do it.
I feel bad for the guy. He put in the hard work to acquire a decent physique and could not get one lousy sponsor. I'm not endorsing his poor choice to sell ecstasy, but it goes to show very few have financial security in the bodybuilding industry. All he needed was $10,000 or less from one sponsorship deal.
Saw him in person. Tiniest waste ever. Crazy shoulder to waist ratio.
Which is why the true "dark side" of bodybuilding isn't steroid use, it's G4P
