This is a no brainer... I would cook for my girl and create a romantic setting where we could eat, and I would clean up afterwards (dishes et al).
A win, win: Low cost meal that works into my diet, and an appreciative girl who sees the effort is much more valuable than a night out.
I'd use the money for entertainment with me and my girl because I hoard gear, and if I was on cycle I would be running the shit I already got.
If I was off cycle I'd just take more time off until more money came in.

I've done enough drifting in my early 20's. I have a beautiful Italian princess who cooks, cleans, trains with me, puts up with my moodiness, gives me all my shots and appreciates me for who I am. You find a good woman, you do everything not to fuck that up. So yeah expensive dates or whatever; I'll do it. The only thing in life you can't get more of is time; money can always be made.
Buy the food at the grocery store and keep lifting
Since were being hypothetical i can be yr g.f. and we can go out once a week to an organic dinner and have play dates the rest of the week back at my house so yr prob gonna need the gear ;0)

I like to spend money on my wife, but thats mostly because she doesnt expect or demand it, and if it was a date at McDonalds she would still be happy. I would see a girl who is not happy with simple things as a warning.

If your girl expects to be taken out to an expensive dinner twice a week she isn't the type you want to hold on to anyway. She'll probably end up running you into debt later on in life. My wife enjoys the finer things in life just like any woman but she is also realistic about our finances. I make pretty damn good money but we were also in a lot of debt when I landed my current job. We will spoil ourselves more down the road for now we cut back and pay bills.
if the girl expects two expensive dates per week. I would run, and fast. Should be able to take your girl out and have fun regardless of the money spent.
I guess I can't really answer your actual question cause I don't think I will never be in that siutation, dont get me wrong, I often surprise my girl with a nice nite out for no reason.
Other variables too, like how long have you been with the girl, if its a newish relationship, BUY THE GEAR!
