bad sportsmanship in olympics

ad

The olyimpics are great in my opinion gives every country a chance on the world stage to prove them selves but i go on twitter today and there is a saying trending #fuckcanada from americans. This is bullshit and i know the majority of this site is of amreican people and i am not saying that you are all like this but a good portion are, you will not here a canadian talk negative about american athletes if you listened to the interviewed canadian mens hockey players they go on to say how good the american team is but you will not here that from a usa athlete who have a history of bad sportsmanship. I am sick of this we are your allies and have fought in evey war with you but every chance the usa is given to insult us they take it. Let me put it this way you have 10 times the population we have 34.5 million compared to your 340 million and your guvernment invests 10's of millions more money than we do to train and support your athletes and we beat you get over it and grow the fuck up.

^^ above is a link of a article about how when the american hockey team lost in japan they went crazy and completely trashed the room throwing chairs and shit out the window. This mindset has to stop

I guess I don't like the tone of this post. I really could give a shit about who won or lost a hockey game. Great for Canada. My biggest congrats to Canada..Shit hockey is a religion in Canada. They damn well better win at that. I hate poor sportsmanship as much as the next guy.
You seem to lump all of us into one group of self centered arrogant bastards, who really doesn't give a shit about anyone else. I think that's kind of rude, but if I'm going to get credit for it, I might as well capitalize on it, so here goes..
First, I do want to tell you that I know who the prime minister of Canada is. That my friend is Stephen Harper. Yes he claims to be the leader of the Conservative party but we all know that anyone from the newly reconstituted Conservative party would still qualify as a bleeding heart liberal in the US.
Most Americans don't know who he is because he swings about as big of stick as the Mexican president to the south Enrique Pena Nieto. That is life my brother, the bigger the stick the more recognition.
Sure, they are great men in their own country, but as far as world legitimacy is concerned really, could they legitimately pose a threat to any of the large countries? No, not without the backing of the US. That's just the way that it is. Sorry.
I think it's great that the Canadians support the US in its wars, really. It's like Superman having the support of Lois Lane's step cousin's niece. Sure he appreciates the support but the question is: How relevant is she?
Going to war without Canada would be like going deer hunting without your accordion. Sure, it might not be as fun but really, it doesn't do you any good besides a little moral support.
Personally, I was glad to see Harper win the beer bet against Obama. But that's because Obama is a douche, and has been losing bets on his shitty policies for the last 6 years.
I think it's safe to say that Obama's beer bet has been his most successful business venture as president as of yet.
So, I guess I really don't know what I'm trying to say. I really don't like how you lumped 90% of us into a group. If that's what you believe, then I'm cool with that. What you think of me as an American doesn't even break the zero mark in my "give-o-shit" meter.
I'm sorry, is just hard for me to take Canadians seriously. Eh.

All my love, no homo
Ed

lol, so many great lines.

Sure he appreciates the support but the question is: How relevant is she?

That one takes the cake. Eh

Engineereddisaster's picture

If I'm going to be an asshole, I've got to at least try to earn the title. Smile

Engineereddisaster's picture

Thanks buddy. It just comes natural.

Here on behalf of the united states I would like to extend an offer.. you guys take back justin bieber and we wont trash any more locker rooms.. pinky promise eh?

ChemDawg's picture

Ok, Dennis Rodman, lol, speak for every American if you want, but be prepared to suffer our wrath. Everyone talks all of this shit about the Worm going to N. Korea to hang out with his communist homeboy and I cant believe they say shit like, he should be arrested for obstructing official governmental business or treason. Those idiots forget that Americans are born free and sovereign, which means we were born with our liberties, we didn't get them from the government. Whether people like it or not he can be friends with whoever he wants. The last time I checked their new leader hasn't done anything bad to me, the US, or anyone outside of his country and I don't know if he did anything bad in his country because I wasn't there. It could be false propaganda, which our media loves to create for their agenda. He may be an asshole, which, as an American, he has every right to be. I guess if others are to pussy to go there, then he kind of does represent other Americans. He is probably the only one they have dealt with, so they might think all of our culture is like him. He seems to be greeted with respect, so he must be doing the right things. When 2 people from opposite ends of the earth, different cultures, and completely different backgrounds can become friends, shows me that there might be hope for mankind after all.

OmNom's picture

I think you missed the joke.. not talking about dennis, kim, or north korea

ChemDawg's picture

When one person says "on behalf of the US" they think they are speaking for everyone and that they know what is best. I know I went on a rant, but some people think he should be arrested for representing all Americans, but he is just going there to hang out, not to make some sort of deal with both governments. We cant get rid of Justin Bieber or Pierce Morgan, they pay too much in taxes to throw them out. The government is like a leach, they wont let go until they drain everything.

OmNom's picture

I understand but you must have heard about the petition to have him deported weeks ago.. I thought it was hilarious.. sad that ppl put more effort into that than other issues.. anyways thats where my comment on behalf of the us citizens came from.. nothing more than a joke

WoW...... I have to say that I'm a little insulted by this! People tend to focus on the few bad apples and forget about the the enormous amount of good ones. A lot of people like to use these infinite words such as every, never, always, ect...... On a lighter note. Did you know that 87% of all quoted statistics are made up on the spot!

Darktide's picture

He did apologize right below my post. Didn't know if you saw it:)

BlackDoug's picture

I'm glad and I think more of him for it. It take a man to apologize and like wise to accept it. Sometimes we as a race leap before we look. I myself have been guilty of not going through a proper cool down period before I opened my mouth. It's all good.....

jpal's picture

YOU know what guys i am sorry for lumping you together i should have never done that it was wrong just got a little heated , there are assholes in every country including mine

WINNING's picture

^^^^^ Agreed.-You said it and vocalizing it here wouldn't change much anyway. Stay away from twitter and let it go. ;)

i absolutely am disgusted by poor sportsmanship. i am american, and this is an embarrassment to me. I preach sportsmanship to my children religiously, myself and all my children are athletes in several sports and we are all very competitive but understand humility and gracious behavior. i would never tolerate negative behavior from them during competition.

vhman's picture

Canada beat the US AND won the gold Medal, and now your complaining about sportsmanship and a game in japan? Enjoy your win and remember that sportsmanship beings with you.

jpal's picture

you dont get it ? i am not trying to rub it in at all, not my point if we lost i would congratulate the us not insault them do you you understand and i am not being a bad sportsman at all

vhman's picture

Glad to hear it, but Your post doesn't read that way.
I agree that bad sportsmanship should play no part in today's world.

CBBurrr's picture

YEp, with ten times the population you get ten times as many assholes.
Good for Canada, hockey is your nations sport. Not surprised you kicked butt.

ChemDawg's picture

They both played a great game, but the US didn't play good enough to win. With all of the shots on goal they had, they couldn't put 1 in the net.

ChemDawg's picture

When Olympic athletes trash hotel rooms, its a bad thing, but when rock stars do it, its ok.

TED's picture

to be honest brotha doesnt matter. Canadian or american people talk shit. i was sitting in a bar watching the semi final game between our two countries with a girl in a USA jersey. some random 140lb canadian guy decides to talk shit the entire game. i kept my mouth shut. i win and i lose humbly. at the end of the game he really started to go after the girl i was with. i stood up went over and sat at his table. his eyes kinda widened because he was by himself and just told him he needed to learn to win with some fucking class because how he was acting is how he would have his face smashed into the bar and leave with no teeth. he kinda took the hint and left.

but really you cant turn it around on just americans. people will talk shit no matter what their background or nationality is.

jpal's picture

i know its not all americans but we have lost to you before and i have never heard any stories about canadian athletes disrespecting your country this way

jpal's picture

well i am sorry on behalf of that asshole

TED's picture

no need for you to apologize brother. just wanted to bring to your attention we are not all like that. assholes will be assholes no matter where they are from lol.

i do agree with you though. especially with the olympics because of how high profile it is. win and lose with class...the world is watching.

Darktide's picture

I am sick of this we are your allies and have fought in evey war with you but every chance the usa is given to insult us they take it. First take it easy be pissed at those morons but not at all Americans. Otherwise you are being like they are. I agree with you it is appalling and a disgrace.

jpal's picture

i am nothing like ( they are) i did not insault the usa in my post at all and i said most not all its just sad this day and age that people that are allies still act like this and i am sorry but it is just your culture i have freinds that live in the states nd talk to them all the time let me give you a example 90 percent of americans could not name our prime ministers but i bet you every single canadian can name your president , in school we are taught about world history including amercan history i could tell you more about the usa than most american people can tell me about Canada its the way your socity is in there mind usa is the central of the world its the way of thinking that has been bread into you i am sorry if i insaulted anyone not trying to just when i see shit like this it gives me no hope in humanity

Darktide's picture

Brother I didn't say you were like them. I said If you put us all in the category that they are in then it is being like them. I work very closely with the "CANSOFCOM" and have many friends there. They are top notch operators who i would go to war with anytime Smile
