About to join usmc and have questions on using roids

ad

I really want to go into the infantry field 03 but also considering the construction/combat engineer/metal worker field, basically I want to know if it's only the infantry guys that get away with using the juice or do other fields juice as well? Any insight from any service members would be great, thank you for your service. Also I had a pervious contract for infantry in the army but got turned away on the day I was going to ship because my ears had gauge holes in them and they finally noticed I even had them get stitched up after the holes were so small.

Ok So HERES how I ended up getting processed Into the USMC... So before I joined the army I was talking to Marine recruiters and the branches offices are next to each other and he saw me sitting outside and i explained what happened with the army and he's like that's fucked up... The army had me as fraudulent discharge and I couldn't reship for 6months with them unless I join another branch... So the Marines helped me out and switched me into there system computer wise and on Tuesday I go to meps just to show the doctor I had gotten my ears sewn up, then I pick a new contract... Sorry for the long story just felt I had the need to explain it but it's all true and messed up, not trying to be ignorant or anything either!

slardizabal's picture

I completed my physical at meps for the Army and had an 11x infantry contract now here's the fucked up part... True Story Swear To God... Ok so the day I was going to ship which was oct 28 I had my packet ready with all my paper work and everything signed all my shit and passed all my physical requirements I even had a waiver signed about my ears because I used to wear gauges which are big earrings. So back to the main story I was about to get a plane ticket all I needed to do was have the master sarge review my paper work packet and he just straight up said no your not leaving today I can see through your left ear I was so fucking mad because it was like the size of a number 2 pencil lead you know? The fucked up part is that I had a waiver and he just declined it.

how far into the process are you? They test for gear at meps (bloods and urine) and thru boot and infantry training you wont have the time or freedom.

slardizabal's picture

I was planning on only using after the boot and training, would it be safe at my first duty station? I don't want to do it urgently either I would like to stay under the radar but I have never been military before. Also I was also considering the. Construction engineer field just because of combat engineer lol

Focus on completing boot camp first, put roids outta your mind. You wont have time to do anything but train, especially in infantry. Infantry will be hard on your family, deployments every 7 months. You will have more time to train and lift doing engineering. Just go in and put your head in the game, you dont need roids when you run 6-10 miles a day, everyday. Focus on your general orders, rank structure, pull ups, push ups and running. Thats where you head should be not steroids. Get in the game mentally, you have a long way to go.

slardizabal's picture

Alright thanks for the help man I appreciate it!

slardizabal's picture

Well I wasn't planning on using while in boot camp or anything like that but possibly when I get to my first duty station, would I be able to then? After work would I have time to lift In such ? Is peptides or gh a better thing to run instead of test to stay under the radar? What's the usmc life like after bootcamp?, I'm also married as well so how would that change things besides housing? If I choose the engineer route will I have more time to train and lift? I know if I went the infantry route I'd be away from the wifey a lot since they go to the field like everyone has mentioned. 03 field seems like the most exciting thing in the usmc but I know it's hard to transition to civilian jobs.. What does a 03 field do from 9-5 if your not deployed? What are your chances of getting noticed using juice if you did moderate test cycles 3 months at a time? If there was a job you wished you did what would it be also what are some great hands on jobs you recommend? I like the fields that seem different that's why the engineer field stood out I guess but chances are probably slim that i would get combat engineer since you can only pick the field. I heard you can't be an eod until a certain rank so that's out of choice. I respect all of you guys thanks for helping me out, I'm just a newbie to military lifestyle.

Happy B day Marine corps!! Hey bro, dont jump into Aas in the beginning of your Marine career, if you wish wait a year or so. The Marines wont test for Aas the test is just too plain expensive, I have gotten away with it and so have others(Not saying you should) ;). In infantry you will be in the field alot and it will be hard to do Aas, Combat engineer would be a better option. I would choose Engineer, just because it will work for you once you discharge and you can find a job in that field. Infantry is good but unless you want to be a cop, it will be hard to transition. Keep copy's of all medical records and don't be afraid to go to sick call, it will work in you benefit if you develop a disability.Born to fight and trained to kill, willing to die but never will. OOh- rah Semper fi! Now were talking about a topic, that I love!!

I don't regret being infantry, but now that im done i can't do anything with it. I can be a security guard and such its a great opportunity to learn a great trade. As far as juicing wait man you have plenty of time. You will be able to run 6 miles easily and hike 15 miles with your pack. During basic you won't have anytime to yourself. We got like 1 hour a day to write letters and read mail. You strip down naked and all your civilian clothes goes into a warehouse for the next 3 months. And after your graduate you have another 3 months of infantry school which is basically staying out in the field for a week and coming back in on the weekend. Its not sterile at all and your learning the basics of how to survive war and tactics and weapons and systems. Lots of cleaning weapons hours and hours. You won't have time for a long time to do it until in the fleet. You will be in the best shape. I was in best shape of my life then. And even in the fleet when you get there, you have to do your desert training, cold weather training, sear, etc. And you will be in the field for 2 weeks at a time. And deployed when its time. I was deployed 3 months after i finished soi. And a lot of the older guys mentored me. There is a lot more to learn than what is taught at soi

Thanks for your service.

Stay off them. It will be a conflict of interest especially with what you will be going through in the first year of induction. Also your mos will not make it a feasible choice for a while.

Echoing similar opinions... If you are sure you wanna be a lifer, 03 would be great. But, if you want to develop trade skills or even have an opportunity to knock out some free college classes while in Garrison and prep for being able to take full advantage of the post 9/11 GI Bill then pursue any of the previous mentioned non 03 fields, or even admin-type mos' too. Regardless, develop the Leadership Traits and apply yourself and you'll find success in and out of the Corp. And w/ respect to AAS, while in, depends on command and op schedules, but I would advocate staying natty also because you can be the fittest of your life and build the base while in. Best of luck with your decisions.

I agree with your advise to him as well.

Ok here is the non sugar coated version... Leave all the steroids alone.. Your not gonna have time to take a shot by yourself let alone worry about roids !!!! I PROMISE YOUR GONNA BE IN THE BEST SHAPE OF YOUR LIFE .. Then when you come out you will have one hell of a base to start with if you decide to use AAS..you need to get your mind right and focused before u go in

Agree with hlwdbdboy I did 15 years infantry it's good if I was lifer but I can't put that to use in civilian life .. Engineering or communications or even logistics is a great choice bro

I agree with both of you. He could go Aviation too.. but that will depend on his ASVAB Scores..

Bro unless you are considering going career jarhead then go engineer and learn some skills that cam be transferable back to civilian life. Now being of "Miltary age" Id say you still got a little natty time before the juice is necessary but keep in mind that you would have to plan your cycles around operations. The drug tests are standard panels (which don't include steroids) and they usually only screen 10%. Now as far as "looking juiced" that will be a matter of command. Some may turn a blind eye wanting you to be as "perfect" as you can be others may have zero tolerance and single you out

The criteria for The Suck is stricter than the other branches so any flaw that the army found get it handled

ADR01's picture

Hello HllwdGDboy...

Just out of curiosity. How long ago were you in the military? I am only asking because they had just recently change the regulations on drug testing in the military I am talking about 24 months ago.

ADR

HllwdBdBoy's picture

Damn son you gonna make me say it LOL... Put it to you this way, it was longer than 24 months ago LOL... And I could see why they would change it if the climate on this board is an indicator of youngsters on juice

ADR01's picture

No nothing wrong, thanks for your prior service. The drug system in the military was pretty vague. I think it is still pretty vague with the new regulations but they are really looking deeper just to put it in such easy summarize terms. They are not really targeting steroid users...The mission is to find who is doing illegal drugs such as ecstasy, G, , cocaine, heroin, MDMA, heroin, pot as it is still illegal in the federal system world, pain killers is one of the big ones right now...Basically if you have don't have a prescription for it and your text comes back positive .. The will get rid of you... after they have found enough proof that you are indeed doing that. I believe steroids are not being looked at unless a commander specifically has asked for it.

Hello

Let me just start by thanking you for considering joining our military. I am not expert on steroids but I do have some strong knowledge about the military. First, let me know tell you that the main purpose of Basic Training is to basically "break you mentally and physically" and then built you back up as a soldier. Meaning that during those 11 weeks in basic training you will not have any personal time. The military breaks up mentally from your daily average things that man civilians enjoy. You will get up early in the morning, work out, eat breakfast, you will training fro about 9 to 16 hours at times, and then wash up, go to bed, and then you will rest to get up the next day and do it all over again. You will not have time to pin yourself. You will be trained to survive in a combat zone where madness and different types of issues will raise up against your free time. Having said that once you graduate basic training you will earn your free time at least it will not be as strict as basic training but you will have to became very very careful with the drug testing system.
